    Great comparison ❤❤❤❤❤
But UA is far from DMM. Notice the speed of taming frequency and huge smoothing of attacks with time (kind of degrading)

Thanks for the comment. While I agree that the DMM does sound special, the UA DMM setting gets close enough for me to put it on a board given the space savings and more conventional power consumption BUT to each his own. Something else to consider is that you could put five DMMs side by side and the differences you’re describing would sound different from unit to unit. I’ve owned 3 or 4 big box DMMs, the EQ and fade of the repeats was always a little different. Thanks for watching.

Great comparison! DMM is also a favorite of mine. The Starlight sounds really good. I have "emulations" in the TC Electronic Alter Ego and in the AxeFx FM3 which are ok, FM3 being better. I think the Starlight really nails it.

Thanks Matt! The Starlight really does nail the DMM thing. Its EP3 emulation is equally as impressive. AND as much as love both the EP3 and DMM tones in it, the Digital delay setting on with flange modulation might be the dark horse for "best tone" in the pedal.

Great video thank you! Really great. Question, have you considered the UA Starlight given that you have the Golden Reverberator?

Thanks Joe. Yes I have the Starlight and Golden. I’m a big fan of both these pedals. I bought them when UA announced them. Even though they lack midi functionality, I think there’s a place for these pedals along side a traditional delay/reverb pedal with the ability to save more presets. They just sound outstanding.

I actually think the DMM repeats tempo changing right after the first repeat, getting a bit slower and stays the same with staccato sound till the end of the trail - very analogish behaviour i think.
The UA trying to mimic this but its more like going faster and slower, faster and slower and has a more robotic linear trails, as a sound its very good but DMM has the mojo no doubt about it.
I wanted to buy the UA starlight this week buttt i think your demo help me realize that maybe i will go for the DMM 1100tt.
    Thanks, good job and playing

Thanks for taking a moment to share your observations. I’m glad you found the demo helpful even if it steered you back into the realm of EHX. I get it, the Deluxe Memory Man is hard to beat.

It’s nice to hear you enjoy the demos. I appreciate the kind words. I’m actually working on some videos now. It won’t be much longer. Thanks for watching!

I prefer the Starlight for the pedal. Aswell the Golden of UA. Specially the Golden, seems it makes the sound better.

The Starlight does sound like a Deluxe Memory Man, plus you get stereo option and some space savings compared to the original. I also have the Golden Reverberator. It also sounds fantastic!

@@Kapperman Super cool! I love when pedalsteel players apply fx in a tasteful way. I just played a show with a friend who does this well on steel. @jamisondewlenmusic

The DMM is the “standard” that all others are compared to…

Wholeheartedly agree. Best analog delay ever made IMO.
