Currently, I have not taken the certification state board test yet. Also, the better your are at your job the more opportunities for raises:)

      Not sure if it varies by state but in California you can. I've worked with a CNA in plastics and she worked front and back office just like the MAs. Just find a way to get your foot in the door. Maybe try working front desk and then get cross trained. Good luck!

    Ha! I'm a CMA II with my CDT at a very well respected Dermatology practice. Your 'day in the life of a derm MA' is a JOKE. Do you scribe? Biopsies? Why dont you have your CDT? The list could go on and on! You do about 5% of what a real CMA does in a true dermatology office. Thanks, though, for giving my coworkers and I a good laugh! 👍

    • @JoannaRivera
      @JoannaRivera  ปีที่แล้ว

      I followed what that specific office asked of me to do. If you have any issues or concerns about how they run their practice feel free to reach out to them. I’m glad I could make you and your coworkers laugh though🤍🦋 I’m all about positivityyyyy. Best of luck with you medical journey.

    what does the liquid nitrogen do?

    • @JoannaRivera
      @JoannaRivera  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Nicole ! Liquid nitrogen is a Gas used for cryosurgery removal of some skin cancers and skin lesions. One of the main reasons we use it for is for pre cancerous lesions such as Ak’s (actinic keratosis) also non cancerous lesions such as cosmetic removal of hyperpigmentation areas, Acrochordon removal (skin tags) etc. The nitrogen is so cold it freezes the lesion and they end up falling off. It can take from one session to two sessions depending on the size and nature of the lesion sometimes even more.
