Nice to see something different, but wearable and attractive. It a bit large for me, I've just sold a similar sized dive watch, because I didn't wear it, but I do like this design a lot.
I also don’t understand. Somebody very high up in their company must like these crazy designs. 🤷🏻♂️. Thanks for showing it to us, but this one is also not for me.
I like both of them too. I own two large and heavy watches and they sit on my wrist comfortably even though my wrist is only 18cm. All my other watches range in size starting at 35mm up to 39mm and I wear all my watches in rotation. The finish and style of these two watches are perfect and definitely grabbed my attention and they are reasonably priced. It's a big YES from me.
As you said, it’s a niche product for a niche market. Maybe they are not after large market share or profit at this stage. Let’s call it a R&D sideline, even an hobby or experimental brand. They can probably afford to do this, while honing skills of design and manufacturing.
I absolutely LUV my $15 Submariner-style Steve Madden with one of the best Miyotas, much better than NH35. The only downside is that the bracelet moves around some 0.3mm left-right between the lugs. BIG WHATEVER, the fleur-de-lis with CZs on the dial are what made Steve Madden one of the top-50 stock market performers of the last 20 years! What San Martins, u kiddin
Currently, we have a duty-free shipping option for some EU regions. Regarding the value issue, unlike many brands, the movement may account for 50%-70% of the cost of a watch, but for us, the cost of a single bracelet far exceeds the value of the movement. The reason why we make basic models is that our goal is still to make watches that more people can afford, and we are also sure that the NH movement is relatively stable. For many people, this is a better choice. Even for senior collectors with more than 100 watches, when facing the movement maintenance every 3-4 years, the maintenance cost of this movement will have an advantage. In some of our subsequent products, we do have more expensive movement solutions, and movements with a unit price of more than $200 are also used, but we still focus on basic watches.
The previous release was hideous but i kinda like this one. Got that big sea dweller energy. Finishing looks like something in the 5 figure mark. Quite extraordinary actually.
I'm wearing my GMT version of this JH02 offering while I'm watching your video! The watch is built with impeccable precision and attention to detail. It compares to my Omega Seamaster in finishing. What a freakin' bargain! It surpasses many brands in the $1000-3000 range. It's one of the most comfortable tool watches on my 6.5 inch wrist. The GMT version as a 24 click/dedent bi-directional bezel. The feel appears to be a ball bearing and spring mechanism. Like a Leica camera's lens. Style is subjective. I bought the War Drum upon seeing it. It's original and unique and drop dead gorgeous. This GMT diver is a nice book end to the War Drum.
Picked up a MAMACOO's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
It´s a very good looking watch and the dimensions are fortunately different to most of the watches that are currently offered. So I will have a look! Thank you for showing us this beauty!😉
Wow! That is a LOT of watch for the money in every possible way. It is absolutely fantastic! Kudos to them for sticking out with their design approach, it may not be for everyone, but I sure love it. And name, finally!!...premium Chinese watch with real Chinese name and true original designs, respect 100%! If they had Sellita in this one, not that I think they should, this could easily fly over 1000$. I mean, the steel work is amazing! 👏👏👏
I must admit I really do like that. I tend to shy away from Chinese watches simply because buying Chinese ultimately isn't good for our economy and the last thing we need is them taking over yet another industry, but I can't fail to be impressed with that especially for not too much over £220. I'm not really a dive watch fan but I do like a relief bezel and you don't see that many of them so I have to applaud them for NOT producing yet another "me too" dive watch that looks no different from any other, of which there must be hundreds, if not thousands. I quite liked the brief look at the other model too.
This one is decent. Love the bracelet and clasp. This is the process of new design. There will me many misses before a truly good original design...and this means the money they lose on the misses needs to be recouped on the hits. So naturally this means higher prices. I wouldn't doubt that we see $500+ watches from SM. Commenters need to realizw that the world is a big place and we dont all have the same tastes. Take the Omega Constellation Manhattan. Not a big seller in the west but you see them alot more in the east. Id suspect that they are Targeting the eastern markets with the use of a Chinese brand name.
It's going a to be a low volume seller. Doesn't matter how good it is (and SM are brilliant) very few people are going to spend their cash on randomtextgenerator watches.
Looks like a tank. A very well-made tank. But a tank nonetheless. Not for me, but I'm excited to see how the brand evolves. Still yet to buy a San Martin - I was very tempted earlier this year.
For tax, duty and shipping cost reasons I prefer to buy from Aliexpress, since in Canada our customs people have given up collecting on things from them. I've already got a ton of NH35 dive watches and am tired of black dials. So while this has it's points it's not for me.
Too big for me but the brushing and finishing looks good, but a better movement required for the money. Hopefully the next watches tgey put out will rectify that.
I dont mind the case diameter but it still looks too thick including the bezel. Maybe slimmer Miyota movements and only 150m would help slim it down since its not intended to go diving and differentiate them from StMarty. First release had a very large crown and this one seems a tad too small
I h8 clones, but I really want this SM/JQ team to start reaching out to good designers, not all this. Their technical side is too good for them to fail at design side.
I don't typically nag on AliX watch brands for their names, but this one ruina a what seems like a great watch for me. A shame really, the playful Embossed dial looks amazing
Yeah, that one is rather 'in your face' but it isn't totally ridiculously sized. With my 7.25 inch wrist it wouldn't even look really out of place, probably. But those hands are a shoot and a miss, they should be more robust to fit the rest of the design. The bracelet is pretty awesome though.
If they’d put an Epson yn55 in it I’d be tempted the nh35 is ok but the epson is a better performer and miles more accurate than a nh35, I like the case work on it just not the price considering you can get a nh35 for as low as £27 now if you shop about.
Impressive finishing as expected but as before, the design lacks subtlety and good taste. I wonder if it's just my western palate but these bruisers I doubt will age well or pair well with... anything other than basketball shorts, frankly. Are these overbearing designs popular in Asia? Edit: I do like the minute track though, that's really cool
I like it, wish the handset was chunkier !! still a little small for me !!!🤣😂one of those strange people that like 44mm and upwards - my Breitling 48mm Super Ocean rings to my mind !!!😁
They nailed it with the branding, the only reason i can't buy san martins is because of their hideous logo slapped around the dial. And it's probably the best sounding bazel I've heard on a Chinese watch. Really really looking forward to this brand
Yes they did! The War Drum was a great design and 1st effort to stake out an original identity. No doubt they can produce Swiss quality watches. But I couldn't go for the San Martin logo/trademark either for the asking price. There are far too many silly Chinglish brand names, ie. FeelNever, Mysterious Code, etc. They should have consulted with a Western marketing team. I have both a War Drum and JH02-GMT. They rival the build quality of many offerings costing thousands more.
Their ability to work with steel is on full display here. The design is still a bit too far out for me but I think they are moving in the right direction...I think they need to use higher grade movements to go along with the steel work!
Lol, I like it but I like Invicta 😂. Most people compliment my Invictas over my Seikos, Orient or even my Glycine. San Martin might be onto something. I thought most people would hate bigger watches but in my experience, this is not the case.
There may be more people who like small-sized watches, but there are also many brands that make small-sized watches... There will always be people who like and are waiting for the emergence of large-sized watches, right?😉
😂 not bad for their second and better than their first. I wouldn’t wear it. But a thinner no bezel watch with that level of finishing and maybe some different hour markers would be compelling
The first release was a bit ugly to be honest this one is better, but I would like to see the next one maybe that will be more to my liking. If they can get the styling more pleasing to the eye and keep up the standard of the finishing they should do well
Not my cup of tea on two fronts - a diver and huge. You'd think that if they're going for fresh designs and premium finishing they could do better than powering it with a very pedestrian movement.
I don't usually really care too much about brand names if I like a watch, but I do think an easily-pronounced more 'western' name is more appealing in general to a wider market. This one really sounds cheap and nasty.
They furiously polished cases, only to house a cheapo Seiko NH, low beat movement. They didn’t even take the trouble to regulate it, as San Martin sometimes does. They expect us, to now be in awe?!
...In fact, movement adjustment is a standard part of our production process. Even for the same type of movement, each movement has a different "physique" and a different range of adjustment. Some movements may have +15s in one direction and -20s in the other direction. This type of movement cannot simply adjust the error to an excellent range by adjusting the "outside pile" on the balance wheel. Of course, this We will also have the QC pick out the movement and not use it.
much better than the first one. However, still they are just trying to hard to be different. If you aske me, I believe that they still have not found their true identity. And hope that third time will be the charm. thanks for the review.
Thanks for the video! The design is too chunky and unrefined for me, but I very much appreciate their desire to innovate and focus on finish quality. Specs are crazy for the money, again demonstrating how overpriced many large name brand watches seem to be.
I just don't understand how they can produce some of the nicest watches under 1k, and then they make these. Arggg... I really wish they'd hire a real design team
With that name their target market is probably not Western markets. Perhaps this is more aimed at financially stable Chinese entrepreneurs and government officials than the average western watch enthusiast.
Are they actively targeting the chinese market with a chinese sounding brand name ? Could rhey have 2 "brands"? 1 for their local market and a more english speaking freindly brand name for a wider appeal ?
Thank you for watching! I do really appreciate your continued support...
You're welcome xx
Big fan of atypical designs. Less likely to see another one in the wild. Ordered the GMT. 👍🏾
You're going to love it! Pics don't do it justice. In the flesh it's jaw dropping in finish and execution. I'm wearing mine as I type this!
I like it too, a little large for me, but I like the dial and case design, enjoy your watches 👍
Nice to see something different, but wearable and attractive. It a bit large for me, I've just sold a similar sized dive watch, because I didn't wear it, but I do like this design a lot.
I like it! It would easily sit in a watchbox alongside a Zelos Swordfish, Phoibos Leviathan, Helm Miyako etc.
That bracelet is awesome looking.
Yup, it sort of steals the show!
Acceptable innit!?
I also don’t understand. Somebody very high up in their company must like these crazy designs. 🤷🏻♂️. Thanks for showing it to us, but this one is also not for me.
I like both of them too. I own two large and heavy watches and they sit on my wrist comfortably even though my wrist is only 18cm. The finish and style of these two watches are perfect and definitely grabbed my attention and they are reasonably priced. It's a big YES from me.
I do quite like it actually. Bit big to wear daily but as you say, fine as a change.
I really like it as I love big dive watches , I may just order one .
Ordered a few weeks ago. I love this watch. Diff from all my other watches.
As you said, it’s a niche product for a niche market. Maybe they are not after large market share or profit at this stage. Let’s call it a R&D sideline, even an hobby or experimental brand. They can probably afford to do this, while honing skills of design and manufacturing.
Totally agree and they will hit the mark eventually and I will be ready!
But 300 EUR before VAT for basic NH35 and shipping from China? 😮
No polishing or name can be worth that much overpaying.

This, slimmer, with a sellita. I'd pay a couple hundred more.
The previous release was hideous but i kinda like this one. Got that big sea dweller energy. Finishing looks like something in the 5 figure mark. Quite extraordinary actually.
Yes, the finishing is outrageous!
I quite liked the first one.
I liked that one more. This one I don't understand (and it scream "we were cheap clomagers"), but it definitely looks less tough.
I'm wearing my GMT version of this JH02 offering while I'm watching your video!
The watch is built with impeccable precision and attention to detail. It compares to my Omega Seamaster in finishing. What a freakin' bargain! It surpasses many brands in the $1000-3000 range.

Hopefully they sell that bracelet standalone, because it looks excellent!
I love watching your videos and AMZWATCH to keep myself updated on the world of watches
Really cool design, polarizing for sure! Great video.
Thank you!
Picked up a MAMACOO's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!

Thank you for showing us this beauty!😉
Think you summed it up perfectly, Gary. I think at some point they'll have a hit even if it'll be a bit quirky.
Wow! That is a LOT of watch for the money in every possible way. It is absolutely fantastic! Kudos to them for sticking out with their design approach, it may not be for everyone, but I sure love it. Bracelet is good but not rest
The hands remind me of Jeremy Beadle
Reminds me of the old classic - "Jeremy Beadle has a very small penis, .........on the other hand it's quite big"
The bracelet is such a beauty. I hope this is available on our local e-shops like San Martin is. Too bad.
This one is decent. Love the bracelet and clasp. This is the process of new design. Agreed
1:35 this shot is better than their photoshoot shot. 😂
Amazing videography… what camera are you using?
Thanks…I use an iPhone 14….
With a 6 o'clock date and a few well chosen face colors, this watch would be outstanding imo
It's going a to be a low volume seller. Doesn't matter how good it is (and SM are brilliant) very few people are going to spend their cash on randomtextgenerator watches.
Yes I said a similar thing, sadly this level of finishing isn't always enough
Hi, random question, but have you ever reviewed any of the Henry Archer models? Would love to see a video on their models.
No I’d love to review oone
Nice looking watch , the size is not a problem it matches my sumo and anything is better then all these little watches that seem to be coming out
It looks good on your wrist. It's big for me but I like it.
180dg change! 💪
AMZWATCH is a must for me as a watch collector
Love the gmt model👍
Love this watch!
Looks like a tank. A very well-made tank. But a tank nonetheless. Not for me, but I'm excited to see how the brand evolves.

Not a fan of this design but I am excited about the quality for sure.
When they do design one I like I will definitely buy it!
Love the bracelet but I'm sick to death of bloody dive watches.
Yep, got some non divers coming on the channel but sadly divers are very popular and brands love making them as they always sell well.

The bracelet is pretty awesome though.
Just hoping they won't decrease the SM quality to better differentiate the ranges. Actually they already did, by introducing cheaper movements.
I think it's a belter (I also liked the drum)
If they’d put an Epson yn55 in it I’d be tempted the nh35 is ok but the epson is a better performer and miles more accurate than a nh35, I like the case work on it just not the price considering you can get a nh35 for as low as £27 now if you shop about.
Love the strap, the watch can do one x
I think that it's a nice looking Timepiece
Impressive finishing as expected but as before, the design lacks subtlety and good taste. I wonder if it's just my western palate but these bruisers I doubt will age well or pair well with... anything other than basketball shorts, frankly. Are these overbearing designs popular in Asia?
Edit: I do like the minute track though, that's really cool
Good questions…
I like it, wish the handset was chunkier !! still a little small for me !!!🤣😂one of those strange people that like 44mm and upwards - my Breitling 48mm Super Ocean rings to my mind !!!😁
wow.....well enjoy your big watches...;)
The JH01 “Drum” may be released this month in the 46mm version mentioned earlier, I am experiencing samples😉
I like it , Take my money
The case reminds me of a Fossil. I like the bracelet. Hate the case shape.
Getting there, but the handset looks a little weedy and the bezel a little chunky.
I didn't like the drum but I do like this one.
They nailed it with the branding, the only reason i can't buy san martins is because of their hideous logo slapped around the dial. And it's probably the best sounding bazel I've heard on a Chinese watch. Really really looking forward to this brand

That's an hour hand only a mother could love!
Only watched till the end to see if you mentioned it.
Their ability to work with steel is on full display here. The design is still a bit too far out for me but I think they are moving in the right direction...I think they need to use higher grade movements to go along with the steel work!
I like it I have already went to the web site
Lol, I like it but I like Invicta 😂. Most people compliment my Invictas over my Seikos, Orient or even my Glycine. San Martin might be onto something. I thought most people would hate bigger watches but in my experience, this is not the case.

Like this watches in Chinatown you can buy for 10 dollars, maybe less-not big deal.Only bracelet is good quality.
Nice finishing but to big and the design is strange not for me and the price before discount is a little high
'Sticking to their ghuns' 😂
Design is more important than finishing. At least it’s an improvement but the dial is still far away from anything that could be called attractive.
I was so hoping they would have some nice pieces, turns out its a rehab project for someones nephew with a brain injury.
😂 not bad for their second and better than their first. I wouldn’t wear it. But a thinner no bezel watch with that level of finishing and maybe some different hour markers would be compelling
Finishing is nice but it’s big like an invicta which I don’t like
Different is not always better.
Recall that the customer is always right in the matter of taste. I'm confident there is a non insignificant population that jumps at this.
The first release was a bit ugly to be honest this one is better, but I would like to see the next one maybe that will be more to my liking. If they can get the styling more pleasing to the eye and keep up the standard of the finishing they should do well
Tough, Rugged, Outdoors Vibe. I like it. Like to see it on a rubber strap.
Not my cup of tea on two fronts - a diver and huge. You'd think that if they're going for fresh designs and premium finishing they could do better than powering it with a very pedestrian movement.
I want one.
Some nice looking aspects that don't look so good together.
Not bad !
I don't usually really care too much about brand names if I like a watch, but I do think an easily-pronounced more 'western' name is more appealing in general to a wider market. This one really sounds cheap and nasty.

They missed a trick not calling the brand Grand Martin..
Thanks for the video! The design is too chunky and unrefined for me, but I very much appreciate their desire to innovate and focus on finish quality. Specs are crazy for the money, again demonstrating how overpriced many large name brand watches seem to be.
100% agree and thank you for the positive comment
Absolutely stunning finishing I agree but the name..oh dear its always the name it will make it a non starter for most buyers unfortunately.
This but with a ceramic bezel.
It's big and looks nice, but.. You'd feel embarrassed to answer when someone asks what make it is.
Chino Invicta
If I didn't already have my eyes set on something else I'd consider this.
$368 for the GMT? Whoa.
Heinous, but I know it’s well made.
Just a bit 80s passe. X
I just don't understand how they can produce some of the nicest watches under 1k, and then they make these.
Arggg... I really wish they'd hire a real design team
Looks like a tag from the 80s...
With that name their target market is probably not Western markets. Perhaps this is more aimed at financially stable Chinese entrepreneurs and government officials than the average western watch enthusiast.
I can't get with the mushroom head on the hours hand.
Why can't they figure out good names for watches or anything for that matter. I would be embarrassed having that on my wrist.
it looks pretty nice, but just plain
Are they actively targeting the chinese market with a chinese sounding brand name ?
Could rhey have 2 "brands"?
1 for their local market and a more english speaking freindly brand name for a wider appeal ?
Quality or not, the watch looks a bit clunky. We've seen this pickaxe hour hand before from San Martin.
Remind me again which watch is NOT devisive…? 😅
Good for them for trying something new but Dear Lord they need to hire someone to make design... That is horrific...
nice watch i do like.. just the name lol not a fan
This watch looks like it ate another watch 💀💀💀
