    There will be balance whiners. But I have to say Nightmare played out of his mind in all his matches, way above my expectations. I hope he keeps his head up, I’m excited to see him in the next season 😃

    That was quite the Nightmare matchup, and Gumiho's favorite unit really is the Cyclone.

    To throw my 2 cents into this - yes in game 1 Nightmare had some unreal plays killing all of those SCVs with those drops but he failed to capitalize on it in any way. Would that level of damage instantly kill protoss? Definitely. But Nightmare sat back and never made more workers. At 7:37 game time (9:15 video time) he has 61 workers and at 13:38 game time (15:08 video time) he has 68 workers. He then floats ~65 workers the rest of the game. So half the game he basically stagnates economically. Ultimately that just isn't going to cut it. He needed to keep on the pressure and continue expanding and making workers.
    I do agree though that mules seem overtuned. Maybe decrease the amount of money they bring back per trip. Seems insane that you can lose 50 workers early on like that and still be fine economically as Terran. It forces all of the impetus on protoss to outplay the terran or else lose.

    Imagine losing over 50 scvs early and still being able to get ahead in supply

    Much as I love our Sc2 commentators in GSL, on the ESL circuit etc, it's becoming increasingly obvious when they sandbag or gaslight the inherent issues in the game related to this matchup by explaining away protoss 'mistakes' when they lose, or the terran players 'superior, genius moves' when it's clearly a balance issue. It's not that they're anti-protoss, it's that, if they actually commentated what was happening (protoss is punished WAY more for "mistakes" than other races) they'd be shitting on the game too which isn't a good look for them, the game, the community, or their job. So they HAVE to keep commentating as if the players themselves are the ones dictating all the ups and downs and outcomes, even when it's obvious it's a race issue. I'm not saying all games or all moments within them are like this, but in this series it was particularly obvious.

      Even if this was true you can always just put protoss favored maps to balance things out. They do that in the ASL, but nightmare had almost unwinnable positions like in game 1 and complexly fumbled against a player who was dropping the ball on much of his attacks.

    • @rnf123
      @rnf123 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@thelaw3536There is essentially no way to make a truly Protoss favored map in SC2 anymore. You can only make it more Zerg favored by making it wide open or more Terran favored by adding protected spots for Siege Tanks.

    Nightmare losing so easily to Gumiho after beating Creator so easily shows how crap of a player Creator is.

    protoss is really very strong. 3 games 3 defeats. everything is normal in the fantastic world of Blizzard.

      Let me get this straight, you're complaining about balance, when in these games between Gumi and Nightmare, Nightmare took terrible fights non stop, in game 2 he was behind in Upgrades all game long, lost all his phoenixes in bad fights and its just cause Toss too strong.
      Hell next time I forget to split my marines I'll just take a book out of your bag and scream that Blizzard made Banes OP.

      @@malekiththeeternityking5433 Protoss has to split their army to deal with multi-prong attacks. Splitting off expensive units requires you to be perfect in your split, and when you are wrong, you lose too much value to recover. Gateway units suck compared to bio / mines and it's a reason people don't play the game anymore.

      @@malekiththeeternityking5433 This conversation is already a little saturated. Everyone knows that protoss simply has to play a perfect game to have at least some chance of emerging victorious, and still count on an opponent failing. Expensive, limited, predictable and easily countered units. In Katowice, no protoss even made it to the quarterfinals. You try hard not to see the obvious.

      @@viniciusmarques9783 There's a difference between playing a "Perfect game" and doing what Nightnare did vs Gumi.
      He had like over 10 minutes of being behind in eco, army and upgrades, cause his units are that good he could make fights look even.

    Mules definitely need nerfd! For a terran to lose over 60 scvs, 25+ more than their protoss opponent and still win that game, thats crazy!!!

  • @ParallaxEffect
    @ParallaxEffect 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I do not think Nightmare is by any means the best protoss, but, Gumiho will be toast if even half the changes proposed in the latest patch make it through. He should not have won those games, and I'm glad we'll be seeing the last of this with the new patch. It's not only ridiculously IMBA to watch terran get away with so much for so little effort, over and over again, its getting downright boring. PvT has been particularly boring for over a year now. Kill 20 SCVs -> mules, it doesn't matter. Easy mine drop -> 20 dead probes, GG. Collusus? Dead with a 8 marauders, stim, A-move. In a crunch? Just build 10 cyclones. Quick win needed? Pull the boys, which statistically works like 70-80% of the time btw. It's just BORING! THANK YOU BALANCE COUNCIL!

    Gumiho winning game 1 speaks for the imbalance this game is experiencing right now.
    Mules should be locked behind tech, you cannot be losing 25 workers, be exactly that amount behind and then casually go on with no ressource deficit at all.

    • @thelaw3536
      @thelaw3536 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That would require zerg to be majorly rebalanced as well.
