    I agree and disagree. Yes it can be a great step to fine tune during load development, IF you reload. However there are people who are shooting factory ammo, say high end hunting ammo and don't want to or cant justify reloading. Most law enforcement and military cant reload, but may be able to add a tuner. There are situations where a tuner may be a stand alone device, not part of a loading system.

    That's awesome shooting. And thanks for all the great information. But I'm curious that if you have a tuner on a barrel, what do you do during load development? Do you leave the tuner at 0?

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes that's correct. I start with the tuner screwed down tight.

    That is some outstanding shooting Sir. When I was teaching at the academy some of us instructors would shoot the qualification on a 1/4 size reduced target - same idea, aim small miss small. In competition, shooting winter indoor pistol matches on the B27R was a heck of a challenge too, X-ring was only maybe a 1" x 1.5" oval and the 10 ring the size of the normal X-ring...never could shoot a 600 but did put up plenty of 599s.
    Happy New Year, hope you have a great 2022 shooting season.

    I just got my 6 BR back from my gunsmith last week. A new Brux barrel and an EC tuner. I never used a tuner before. I didn't think it would make that much of a difference on a 6BR with a 1.250 barrel. Was I ever wrong. If my second shot didn't go in the same hole, I moved on and never took the third shot. The best 3 shot group was .05

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Those numbers are at target and can't be fully trusted. I wasn't recording muzzle numbers that night but based on the numbers I was getting while testing at 100yds that day it was significantly lower. I typically get an SD around 5 or 6 on 20-25 rounds.
