I have the same exact slx dc xt and it’s perfect for throwing weightless soft plastics. I have my spool tension fairly loose and the brakes at a 2 with no backlashes. The IDC-5 is awesome and way better than the IDC-4 on the normal SLX DC and Curado DC. Plus the price for the upgraded tech is a no doubter as SLX dc and Curado Dc retailing for more than 200 now in the US

I am planning on using 50lbs braid on this reel. Will it hold enough 50lbs braid? And will it impact casting performance for lets say throwing 1/2 ounce jigs from the bank?
I need your help Nick! What do you consider better spinning or baitcast for the type of fishing we do, i.e. trout, reds and flounder? I know how to use both proficiently but I can cast spinning further with no tangle.

@@g_REEL Got if already and tested it. put on 40lb sunline braid for my heavy game catching sneakhead. Already caught one snakehead on the new antares dc md and gotta say its smooth as butter and the casting is superb 👌
My only gripe with this reel it feels like a cannonball when picking up, compared to my Aldebarens. Apart from that it's a very forgiving reel regardless of lure weights.
Ok boss I'm here watching ur vids trying to figure out my first shimano is a long while. I have been on Lews for a while. I'm leaning towards the 23 metanium but had my mind on a 70 size bc I have smaller hands IMO. The metanium is a 100 size but you said in the video for it had same spool size as the 150? Or the 20 model did? In this video you said the 70 slx is smaller so now I'm like hum is the 100 not the frame size. Is the 100 metanium smaller than a 150? Please someone help me figure this out I'm ready to order.

Use what you feel more comfortable with and that will give you the best chances of catching fish.
