    Hello, thanks for the video. I have a conceptual doubt. Six sigma is a lot about reducing defect rate, like you say in the video. In many case studies though, I have seen that the goal was to reduce recruitment time, increase production and other things related to VOP. When this happens, let's say reducing recruitment time at a maximum of 3 days, can I still calculate cpk using 3 days as spec limit? I ask you because in this case spec wouldn't come directely from voice of customer but from voice of business.

    • @Onlinepmcourses
      @Onlinepmcourses  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I am not sufficiently knowledgeable to know how successful you would be. However, to contradicting observations:
      1. Your use case is not what it's designed for, so it may not work well
      2. However, there is no reason not to investigate whether you can adapt the ideas. I just don't know how you would do this.

    • @datascience1274
      @datascience1274 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Onlinepmcourses thanks a lot for the answer. I believe your first point is spot on. That just can't be considered like a spec limit, nor there's a spec coming from VOC tied to the recruitment time.

    • @mrdjr6544
      @mrdjr6544 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If products/services are being delivered late and investigation shows all processes are optimal, except the recruitment process which is identified as the process causing delays to the product/service delivery, then it is absolutely sensible to apply the investigation tool to the recruitment process to identify opportunities for improvement and ultimately meet the customer lead time requirements.
      This would be applicable to any industry that may require regular hire of temporary work teams on an ad hoc basis.
      Your specific situation may be entirely different. In this industry of common sense and made up jargon all these concepts can be manipulated to suit any scenario. It's because they aren't based in solid science, they're just made up versions of common sense sold to businesses.

      Aside from the basic process and culture of six sigma, it offers a great problem-solving and business analysis toolset. So do learn more about it informally to see if formal training will suit you and the role you are in. And also, you may find it helpful for future job applications - depending on your sector.

      Katherin, Maby there are some improvement methods used in your company. Six Sigma gives guidance to do it methodically. Try to improve a few areas around you. Show results to colleagues, try to grab their interest. If there will be support from management, more colleagues can be trained and method spread in the company. Would you agree with me?

      I used it with zero management awareness, either when I was working on tasks and as I got bigger teams.
      Usually rolling out some form of ISO9000, 6 Sigma and some Kaizen and cost savings projects I can drop costs and staff time by about 30%
      Then I reassign that staff savings time for either more work from other teams, or more rounds of improvement.

    • @Onlinepmcourses
      @Onlinepmcourses  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I bow to your greater knowledge. I had not heard of a six sigma brown belt at all, so I looked it up.
      ASQ.org says: Brown Belt is not traditionally used in Six Sigma and is not recognized by most organizations or accrediting agencies. However, some organizations may classify a Brown Belt as a person who has their Green Belt and has passed the Black Belt certification exam, but hasn't completed a second Six Sigma project.
      Of White Belt, they say: Can work on local problem-solving teams that support overall projects, but may not be part of a Six Sigma project team. Understands basic Six Sigma concepts from an awareness perspective.

    • @michaelluchesi6296
      @michaelluchesi6296 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is what has been out there for sometime now, you just need to finish your second project to be a Black Belt. White belts are generally entry level personal in your comapny (a little training) who have not yet obtained their Yellow Belt by taking the exam or having been assigned to a team.

      There are no offical governing bodies for Six Sigma, www.6sigmacertificationonline.com/is-ssgi-certification-recognized/ anyone who says they are an accrediting body is nonsense, any company can do the training and give their employee certificates no accreditation is needed and no orginaization has goverance over six sigma, you only need the knowledge to train the people who want to learn.
