As I understand it, FMECA (Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis) is a variant that also considers the criticality of causal effects and prioritizes among them. I am not very familiar with it, but understand it is most widely used in the US military and related sectors.
Thanks for the information, I have a question, we can use FMEA analysis in the service supply chain ? Or it's only for manufacturing? I hope your answer, thank you again
It's a tool - like any other tool, you can use it in many places. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know if other tools exist for analyzing failure points in a supply chain, but I would think you can adapt FMEA to give you valuable insights.
I think you've explained a complex process clearly through the use of this worksheet.
Thank you, Felicity.
WOW... I love your presentation. Calmly presented in a concise manner
Thank you very much.
Thank you; it was a tussle for me understanding what FMEA really means, but you made it so seam so easy.
You're very welcome!
Thanks for the succinct explanation of FMEA, Mike, as well as the comparison of the FMEA worksheet to the PM Risk Register.
Thank you, Thomas. Glad to help!
What then is the difference between FMEA and FMECA? I thought the S.O.D component where RPN is calculated only comes when we are analysing FMECA
