  • When I say that all our students played much better padel when this became their focus I am NOT exaggerating! And it works for ANY LEVEL PLAYER!!!
    I challenge you to try ONE SET as we suggest in this video and I am certain you will play better padel, have a better understanding of the game and be able to work out what your opponents do not like.
    This channel has so many videos, but if I could make sure players watched ONLY ONE VIDEO, then it would be this one (followed closely by the shot preparation).
    I am also super excited to introduce our new The Padel School + Community - here coaches and players are all in one place to help each other! Check it out here: thepadelschool.com/features
    It does not matter what level you are (Beginner to Advanced) this is a great way to practice!

    Thanks for the video and advice!
    Totally agree about the "not hitting winning points". I am totally new to padel but I've played tennis and table tennis before so coming from that I always tried to win the point myself and always tried to hit a "good" ball. But after trying "to never win a point" my game became much better and more safe.
    Doing way less mistakes and especially easy mistakes. I also think as long as I get the ball over the net the point is still there to win.
    I get it's more fun to smash and win the point yourself but I really appreciate to win a point knowing I didn't do any mistakes and somewhat forced the other players to do it instead.

    these advices are so true! recently I changed hitting vibora every time to hitting bandeja every time and the control that you have of the court with the bandeja is amazingly better than the vibora, specially when you don't win the point with that first vibora.

    I took a lesson a few weeks ago. Before i tried to murder the ball which gave me some winners but also alot of unforced errors and mishits. After i have tried to focus more on controll and clean hits and the fun thing is that i hit alot more winners now but with less effort. Great tips in this video.

      @@ThePadelSchool well, it didn't go that well at all. My focus before the match was to make zero mistakes, which resulted in passive footwork, stiff arm and too conservative positioning on the court. The next day I was bavk on the court and my focus was to always be in the correct position, and I played much better and made considerably fewer mistakes.
      But it was nice to learn what kind of a mindset works best for me 😎

  • @martinsbng
    @martinsbng ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I realised last year that "by reducing my errors", I am winning more games. However, recently I am playing against better players and my game is now "too passive". Even when they give me an easy ball mid court, I am not going for the vibora or smash. I seem to have lost my confidence in hitting that "winning shot"! On the other hand, I had become rather good at lobbing and playing safety shots.

    I don’t consider myself super-aggressive, I like to win the point with controlled pressure. I tried this in a comfortable practice match, I think I made 4 errors in three sets. I think the adrenaline point is the most relevant to me. I found it pretty relaxing just taking my time. We won 2-1. It was hard to back off from kill shots tbh.

    Hi Sandy, how do I defend a player [ex tennis] smashing the ball fast and hard and low, at me/towards me. I nearly always over hit the ball back even though I am trying to take the sting out of the shot ? Thanks

    • @ThePadelSchool
      @ThePadelSchool  ปีที่แล้ว

      in general best to allow the ball to rebound off the glass as it will slow it down and give you time to move forward to the correct position

      The game originated in the Spanish-speaking world and the pronunciation in Spanish is with the stress on the “a”. It even has a written accent (“tilde”) on it in Spanish - “pádel”. You certainly won’t hear anyone on the World Padel Tour pronouncing it “paDEL”!

      @@JennyThomas-si6pu and you won’t hear any Spanish native pronounce it paddel either. Emphasis is indeed on the a, but in Spanish ‘del’ is automatically pronounced with a sharp ‘e’. That was my point ;-) Compared to the ‘paddel’ pronounciation in the UK and US.
