Great tips. I would say Vital Padel Tip #26 is to wear a cup. I'm being dead serious. Last week, a smash went between my legs at about 50-60 miles an hour. Two days later, I saw Ale Galan get hit in family jewels with a backhand volley by Di Nenno. After being in severe pain for 10-15 minutes, Galan recovered and he and Chingotto won the match. The next day, Galan nearly got hit again in the same spot! He was laughing about it, but I don't think it's a laughing matter. Then, before the next time I played, I bought a cup. I didn't really need it in that particular match, but I hit a smash that day that hit my friend in the upper leg, about 2 inches away from severe pain. He didn't seem too worried about it. But I don't care if I'm the only padel player on the planet who wears a cup, I won't ever step on court again without one.
Great video, really helpful, thank you!! Padel is massive in Spain, and I'm going to play my first match today. I play a lot of tennis, so now I know I have to get out of that "back of the court" mindset.
Immense advice as always. Definitely appreciate your commitment to still film considering the subzero temperature. Will certainly be a video I’ll be watching on a loop. 👏💪🏻
Thanks for sharing those tips !! Now the thing is to apply them on the court. The most important tip for me was the last one, not to play tennis 😅. I’ll try to remember this today on my tournament !
Excellent advice from someone having some lessons. I'm a beginner playing in Spain and lots of Brits play - but many play like its a tennis match - including me for the past 6 months. I'm now having a few lessons and I can't believe how I've picked up so many bad habits and don't really understand the tactics of the game. That said its great great fun and my coaching sessions are brutal! My coach says you have to start every game / point in the "prepared position". Ready to receive, no standing around looking gormless!!! My words not his!
Around minute 8:00 when you say you should the trying to win the point off the serve. Is there a reason for this? Also why wouldn't you want to serve faster?
0:16 Isn't number one tip only valuable if your teammate is behind you to cover for potential shots at either side of you that are fast? And if this is true then number five tip becomes less valuable? Moreover, if you are both in front of the net what is the benefit of that; you become vulnerable to fast shots that may not be caught by your reflexes or by shots in the middle, no?
Even if they do lob you, that isn't a winning shot, it just means you lose the net and they are able to win it. But if you don't go to the net after the serve, the opponent will hit it straight to you, and they will be able to instantly win the net position, where 90% of points are won.
Nice, really enjoyed this video! So if I understand it right, at a higher level, really the "only" way to hit a killer is fromthe net position? You don't happen to have a video on what the usual ways to kill a ball (at a higher level) from the net position are? :)
Yeh you are right, only try and win at the net, or sometimes when you get an easy high ball off the back wall, you can attack it and try and get a winner. And check any videos on forehand volleys, or víboras, they will help
@@EverythingPadel By the way..! There's no chance you could be interested in a small mastermind group for sport tutorial TH-camrs? On my 6th session in padel, been playing with mid to high beginner level players, just some hacks to win points: 1. lob shots more often, if possible lob deep near the wall 2. target center 50% of all the shots 3. force yourself to go net position and get used to the uncomfort at Net position. 4. hit onlylobs on wall recoveries 5. avoid smash, virbora, bandeja, only do flat or light controlled spins 6. train your stamina 7. assume all shots are in, so just hit the ball even if its already a point won.
Why not put ridiculous spin on a serve? If it wins the point that's fine. A serve that is too easy to return is not preferable. A tricky ball will often result in a failed lob return which often allows you to not only take the net but also attack.
it is a mentality problem as well lots of beginners think they need an insane serve to be good but really they just need a good serve and to take the net position
A serve with ridiculous spin is rare because you lose accuracy and power. Plus it's risky since it's fairly easy to read so you'd have to serve it almost perfectly. Remember the whole point of the serve is to pin them back and keep them there while the server and partner are attacking at the net. So you want to be serving deep and with mostly back spin and a bit of side spin depending where you are targeting your serve. As for the return, the Lob is always a good option, however, I'd focus more on low flat returns and even chiquitas can work great if the server is too slow getting to the net. Lob returns are generally good to do when the serve goes down the middle since you'll have time to reposition to cover your side.
Sorry about how bad some of the clips are in this, we filmed this is -7 celsius, the glass was frozen 🤣
Best padel coach on TH-cam. Explained simply and effectively, immediate results on court. Top lad.
thanks so much Paul

I just started playing Padel and have been binge watching your videos. These are really excellent tips, concise and full of value.
Brilliant! Thanks mate. I watch this everytime I’m on my way to my padel match 😁👍
Very informative and well-formulated my guy. Will definitely take these steps into consideration.
Glad it was helpful!

Another great video. I'm transitioning from tennis and squash so this was really helpful, thanks 👍
I like the stop ball watching tip ,I get caught up in this and I call it watching the show
The tip video I was looking for to learn how to play padel
10:35 Great tips, which will help me as just starting playing Padel.
Superb tips - invaluable . Grateful for this
Great tips as always. Tip #26 for tennis players: use the side/back glass more often than you'd like
Definitely useful to record at -5 😍 thanks for the frozen tips
Awesome list
Great guidance thanks

It’s more important to get to the net position. At higher level returning serve is easy so it’s better practise to take the net and get a volley
Most beginners have a great serve but can’t do anything else - the idea is to put focus on other parts of the game

well done mate...
Great tips! much appreciated!
Why always rush the net on serves? I find guys that do that quite easy to lob, even on good serves.
Even if they do lob you, that isn't a winning shot, it just means you lose the net and they are able to win it. But if you don't go to the net after the serve, the opponent will hit it straight to you, and they will be able to instantly win the net position, where 90% of points are won.

@@EverythingPadel Thanks a lot! I will! Padel is quite counterintuitive in many ways compared to tennis, pickleball etc, it's fun! :)
