The Really Loud House Already Has A Big Problem

  • The Really Loud House, a brand new Loud House series coming to Nickelodeon, already has mixed reception among fans. While The Loud House's live-action adventure is coming out this November, there's still a problem surrounding it. Namely, why does this exist?
    The Loud House is up there as one of the biggest Nicktoons on the channel, right behind SpongeBob SquarePants. Lincoln Loud and his family have somehow managed to rise to the top, but that also means that Nickelodeon will do whatever they can to milk the franchise. The Really Loud House, this new Loud House spinoff, doesn't look good.

      As scary as this sounds, I think you too are right. Season 4 of the show came out 4 years after season 1 did, and a lot of people are saying that that’s where the show went downhill. Well some people could argue that Chris Savino‘s absence is the reason why it went downhill, and in some ways it sort of is, he’s not entirely to blame here. It’s Nickelodeon’s fault for having it go on without his involvement, and it’s likely that they chose to do it without telling him how long they would want it to keep on going.

      No joke, i literally was hooked onto the show when it first came out in 2016. S1 and S2, while not perfect, were still pretty good at standing out from the ‘nicktoon’s to soon die’ crowd. However, between rehashed episodes, flanderization and just a lack of energetic vibes from the first two seasons, I stopped watching around mid 2019 range. I literally haven’t seen most of S4, I skipped S5 cuz I just couldn’t be bothered and I don’t have the care or energy to check out S6. Also, the damn flanderization is getting outrageous. Some characters became such one note and pushed to the background often. I really hope the series doesn’t get swept to graveyard slots, but….. this live-action is sending the series into an early grave

    • @CJBStudios
      @CJBStudios 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@havenisthebest99 Well, given that the series has gone through a few hiatuses lately, I think it already is being sent to some graveyard slots. Again, that’s just how I see it. However, I also have to agree that this live action series could be a bigger nail in the coffin. It seems like whenever nickelodeon has something that is really successful, they then decide to meddle with it by turning it into a corporate machine and then killing it off. At this point, there’s really nothing we can do about it now. Yes, Chris Savino’s firing is arguably the main reason why the show started losing its luster, but with Nickelodeon continuing it without his involvement, it appears to be damaging their reputation even further. The only way to make things right again is to have the network listen to the fans, and of course, that doesn’t always work out so well.

    Out of any animated series, The Loud House made the most sense to have a live action adaptation. It's already a slice of life with a lot of its scenarios I can easily see happening in a real life setting, but if there's one thing I knew that would hold all of that back is its execution.

    What makes the Loud House so popular, or at least what made it popular in the early seasons, is the fact it WAS a cartoon.
    Premise-wise, this show is no different than any other live-action sitcom that Nick keeps shoving down the pipeline. In-fact, it's actually an over-done premise. Full-House, The Cosby Show, even back all the way to the 70's with Brady Bunch and The Waltons. Two Parents, a shit ton of kids of various ages, side characters that come and go and plots that end with a lesson to be learned. Same shit, different bucket.
    But as a cartoon, it was able to improve upon the formula by eliminating the problems you have with "Big Family" sitcoms. Child actors, unsurprisingly, are terrible actors. Child acting, as Josh Peck and Jennette McCurdy have revealed, is sometimes a dark and abusive business. How do eliminate both of these problems? Turns out a child isn't needed to voice a child character, you could instead voice them with talented adults instead. Want to keep the main character sounding like a boy, let the previous VA go on to live a normal life when he gets too old and replace him with a new one. Want to change the setting to somewhere beside a big-ass house? No need to spends hundreds of thousands in prop and set pieces, just get some Koreans to draws some new backgrounds. Let the characters do dangerous stunts, add elements of sci-fi or fantasy, gender-swap the entire cast if you feel like, it's cheap and painless cause at the end of the day they're nothing more than ink on paper and a script.

    Disney - Doesn't respect the LGBTQIA+ and only lets their shows run 3 seasons each
    Warner Bros. Discovery - Took all their animated shows off of HBO Max and has no clue what they're doing
    Nickelodeon - Ruins their own shows' chances of success and won't take risks, not to mention they demand a formula featuring irreverent comedy for every show, which denies a flavor pallet to suit any audience

    Let me explain in. The Loud House as a show is a great show. Heck, I even really like the movie. But if you are going to make a live action remake, You have to put into extra effort to make it as funny as the show. I saw Nick put in effort on its live action shows (in this case lack of effort) and Nick is probably going to give it the same treatment. The trailer is horrible. In fact, I feel this remake may potentially ruin the franchise. I feel Nick needs to rethink it's live action shows and their formula. They need to at least stick it to the original. Or at least adapt it to make it true. Why fix something that isn't broken? Doing it can break things instead.

    • @blobbertmcblob4888
      @blobbertmcblob4888 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem with live action shows born from cartoons is that the live action shows can NEVER be as funny as the cartoon that birthed it, because the whacky cartoon hijinks just don't work in live action format. Let's face it, the Louds *already* do a ton of stuff that would either get them blacklisted from their own town or straight up arrested.
      Rita and Lynn are already *really* bad parents, Like the episode where they lock their own child out of the house because they, grown adults, go along with him being "bad luck"
      They just let those kids run wild, only to punish them when they do something *really* bad, there's an episode where they SELL all the furniture in their living room and they get little more than a gentle chiding.
      Lennie is dumb as a fucking stump and no one seems concerned about it, Luanne is a god damn psychopath, they literally do not make one of their 6 years old take baths and let her play with dangerous animals. The other one is a pageant child, which is another can of worms.
      This stuff is funny in cartoon format, but when REAL people are trying to do the same thing? I don't feel like it'll work.

    First Nickelodeon gives us a title called The Fairly odder and now this. I don't think Nickelodeon only has a problem with the originality but names as well

    This live action adaptation is probably targeted towards kids who think they’re too grown or mature for cartoons. I’m pretty sure somebody’s kid is saying “iM 10 yEarS oLd. cArtooNs ArE foR bAbiEs. I WaTcH LIve aCtIon stUfF NoW.”

    At this point, Nickelodeon only has Spongebob and Loud house. No other shows, no gameshows. Man they really need to change things.

    1:23 Thx for reminding me. I heard so many rumors that Glitch Techs would return for Season 3 on August 15 or 18, i.e. this past month. And I’m really sad nothing is out regarding the show’s return yet. Nickelodeon’s philosophy of sticking to what they’re best at is easy to agree and disagree on. Bless SpongeBob’s heart, I’ll never stop watching him, but roughly 85% of the episodes in his most recent seasons, while occasionally charming, lack a lot of the replayability his original seasons had. That actually makes me more concerned with that event Vail mentioned in a video last month regarding Nick asking the public to submit ideas for any animated or live-action shows fans would like to see them air with tons of creative freedom for any race or gender, which I absolutely love! But that doesn’t make me less cautious on the longevity of these potential prompts fans will submit that will likely have enough thought behind them to warrant more than two seasons, and a lot of good Nickelodeon animated shows lately have been just two seasons (Rise of the TMNT and [seemingly] Glitch Techs, just to name two examples).

    Since Nickelodeon won’t I’ll come up with an original idea. So for the first few episodes it’s just slice of life, but then somehow he gets super powers where he is immortal. But whenever he doesn’t use it, he starts to slowly disappear. So the entire show is him getting over certain fears because if he doesn’t he’ll die.(it’ll also be tons of comedy)

    I love the Loud House. My favorite nicktoon. Been a fan since September 2017. Not sure of the live action series. I enjoyed the Christmas movie last year. I'll give the live action show a chance. Still neutral on it but I'm not giving it a bad rating until I watch the series. Yeah it's unnecessary but hey it's not another SpongeBob spinoff

    Seriously, did it ever occur to the producers and animators of the show, or Nickelodeon in general that adding so much loudness and chaos isn't really a good idea, in other words, this shouldn't even be literal at all, and while working on the girls' personalities and characters, why did they have to use stereotypes (dumb blondes, tomboy, athletes being aggressive, reckless, or dumb, etc.) of stock characters, mostly because stereotypes are like the worst things you could do when creating animated characters, shouldn't make them more feminine, calm, and sophisticated since gross, wild, and reckless are something you expect for guys, also no average family can have 11 kids, putting their names that starts with the same letter is quite confusing, and here are some activities the girls should be having: art, cooking, meditation or whatever, and think the plot for episodes completely through since some of the plots don't make any sense or get alot of haters.

    atleast about Cartoon Network, you can say they allow more unique ideas and shows, while Nick is like “how about the 50th SpongeBob spinoff”.

    What Nick should do is unpause Rise of the TMNT for a 3rd season, especially since the tags for the movie and the show itself was TRENDING on tumblr and twitter for a good couple of weeks thus far. And the movie was praised for being so beautifully crafted.

    Credit where credit is due, this is one of the most faithful adaptations look wise when it comes to doing a live action cartoon. It's actually impressive how well they got the look of the characters to the point where it is literally "What if the Loud Family was in real life?"

    Well, it’s official. The Loud House has become a franchise zombie. We’ve watched the birth and death of a beautiful series, from when it first aired and broke ground as something fresh and new that Nickelodeon needed to survive, to today, when it was driven into the ground and reduced to the network’s next Spongebob, all in the course of 8 years. Oh, how time flies.

    The Really Loud House is going to have pretty much almost the same problems as the later seasons of The Loud House (particularly Season 5) in my opinion.
