No for real. I actually think almost all of his bluey designs suffer and don't fit the world their being put in. He forces the square head shape into all of them- regaurdless of the fact that almost none of those shows USE that shape in their designs.. the Lion Gaurd and Elena ones just came out ugly and looked like her features were sloppily slapped on because the forced headshape doesn't fit in the show styles what so ever.....Like for someone who made such a noise about other style features being ignored- it brothers me that he took a style feature of BLUEY'S art style and forced into all of these other shows despite it just not belonging there..
@@KairuHakubi Not that square. Lol. Alot of Disney's animals are drawn more realistically, especially in things like the lion king franchise. Alright i got a complaint. For as much as you focused on adding as much orange as possible, why didnt you make his Steven Universe version a gem? making a magic fish into a magic rock isnt that out of the question, and you could keep his orangeness.
@jamesolszewski3782 Wouldn't it be? Elmore's got some wacky and out there characters, I don't think a shapeshifting alien that's also a holographic projection made by a sentient piece of jewelry would be that far out of place.
Honestly I prefer a lot of the original Cartoon Network versions of human Darwin compared to your fixes, color palette wise Even if the outfits being pure orange make them closer to the fish design, I think it looks a bit much without more greens or blues to balance it out Giving him a ponytail to mimic his fin was clever though
I always love Harry’s videos, the production value is so high, and you can tell he is committed to the prime time talk show format, it’s incredible. Also I’m VERY convinced that the caricature at the end is Vincent Price.
My favorite parts of these videos is hearing you describe the styles for some of my favorite shows, then seeing it applied to the character. The Chowder fish one is deFINitely my favorite, he's just so precious!
I remember finding Harry through a Just Jargon video, it’s so cool to see him finally getting a ton of recognition. Btw this 50’s type editing style is awesome because I used to watch the Honeymooners and the Dick Van Dyke show and they both started like this lol.
The person you drew at the end was Vincent Price. I thought he looked familiar, and then I realized he looked like vincent van ghoul from Scooby Doo, who Vincent Price actually voices in the show. Edit: also I wanted to add just how talented you, I know you probably get alot of comments about that, but still I'm just so impressed. My favorite of these was the bluey in the mickey mouse style, just wow.
The darwin one certainly has more work put into it that the usual. But still very odd to choose a style that makes him human when he has little traits that transfer well at all. Also im pretty sure steven universe would actually be able to fit in an odd fish with legs.
God I’d love this dude to describe my art style, it’s not only funny but gives you just the right amount of info. I love this show, happy I subscribed.
I know how he'd do mine for sure "crooked eyes that really needed the flip-canvas button a few more times, entire bodies aligned along singular flat planes, and frequently being able to see too far around multiple sides of an object make it clear this artist is stereoblind and literally imprinted on 2D drawings because they look just as genuine as real life"
Your art skills are so impressive, you can replicate the original styles perfectly! I like how you even went through the extra effort of fixing Darwins human designs and photoshopping Bluey’s muppet designs. That caricature looks a lot like Vincent Price. I know for a fact he was in "The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo", but I think he also narrated some other horror related stuff.
5:36 I feel like their’s was kinda stronger for this one. The fin looking hair works really well, and yours been a little flat compared to theirs. You could be made the hair a little more textured
Bear in the BBH only uses the standard "muppet eyes" (big white sclera w/ black pupils) for some characters, especially the small ones like the mouse, but for larger characters (as Bluey, a dog, would probably be) the norm is the 'beady black eyes' design. Incredible video as always
In regards to the shading on the official Darwin art in the tawog style, its possible they're changing the style for the show for the 7th season; it has been a while.
That could b possible! But I feel like it's probably more like just a Spontaneous decision made for that art specifically since I've seen similar off model coloring on other art like it made for posts
The caracature/portraite is of Vincent Price I believe. The mustache and raised eyebrow just fit perfectly. I grew up watching his movies with my dad. If it isn't him I will be absolutly shocked.
Imo CN did some of the designs better, particularly the human ones. I get what he was going for in having Darwin's whole outfit be orange, but the varied color scheme with the different shades of orange and greens look aestheically way more pleasing.
I think he definitely nailed the Foster's, Dexter's Lab and Chowder (though the original is also pretty good for Chowder) drawings for Darwin, as well as a handful of other redesigns (also Bluey's are pretty much strictly better imo). Though I 100% agree that the mono-orange colour palette isn't particularly pleasing for the human redesigns, it may be more true to the original character's colour scheme but then again I don't think that if a human Darwin was to actually be in these shows, he'd wear just a plain orange outfit...
Here's your TL;DR section, amazing video as always, you're very talented at bringing a new perspective of style to a character! Far better than what people (especially corporations apparently-) often do! Anyways- I love these because someone finally gets it right! People often just look at the main characters of the media as reference to make an attempt at recreating the artstyle when in reality, that's not what you are supposed to do. I personally think the best way to represent a character in a different artstyle is to look at many different types of characters from the media you are trying to replicate, and try to find some character (or better yet multiple characters!) that matches a similar design and or body of the character you're trying to recreate in a new style! I love these videos because they show very VERY well on the Do's and Dont's of trying to replicate an artstyle. Extra points for even changing the design of the character to fit the character design of the media you're trying to recreate too!! It's so much more creatively done in a way where it really makes the character fit in a new world! And these videos provide great tips as well when trying to replicate an artstyle, kudos to you! As always, top notch high quality video!!
9:36 uhhhhhhhhhhhh Imma assume that the fella in the top left is the Koalaman my friend is always telling me to watch, and the two spiffing gents below are most certainly the bananas in pajamas, who I do think I still have a VHS of hidden in my house. No clue what the bat-thing is but they look familiar so I'll give myself half a point for that one at least
As more of these style redraws are being made by these media corporations, the art is steadily getting better, to the point where some of them don't even look like they need fixing- until I see your rendition and wonder how it could've been done better any other way. You have a real knack for identifying the distinguishing features of all of these artstyles and replicating them PERFECTLY, which is really inspiring for someone just starting to get into art seriously. Looking forward to seeing whatever you come up with next
I love how your designs kept Darwin’s face shape! With the huge head coupled with a really skinny body and tiny legs is a great call! Especially silhouette wise! But that being said, your Decterms Lab version of him is by far my favorite one! You just made him extra adorable while keeping his shape the same. You videos remind me how much fun I have when I try to draw characters in different art styles too!
I argue they have interns to make these redraws while any professional character designer are busy with shows that are being made. Like you can't have someone working on Fiona and Cake to stop working and make these redraws. A random intern that does social media? I'm aure they're skilled enough to make something for their daily posts.
@@allendepacheco3419 I mean it’s like they haven’t even watched the show, especially with like Ed, Edd, and Eddys lines being thick and thin and Fosters having not much, I draw a lot so it’s just like why
@@klausing8 Again it could be interns doing the redesigns and probably weren't paid enough to do deep analysis in each show's art style to replicate it accurate compared to Harry Gold. It's very likely that someone had never watch these shows or are going off by memory because they're not character designer whether as professionals or amateurs.
I love that for Darwin, you both re-did the human form ideas that CN did, but ALSO made the proper "is a fish" Darwin for each design. That kind of commitment is extremely admirable.
although im quite a fan of these videos, I literally got out of my seat and shouted out "AGAIN?". im so shocked you have to make another one of these yet again, they havent learned anything. either way, I really enjoy ur content, keep it up
what a beautiful video the artist puts lots of effort into the drawing and even more effort into the script I find this video wonderful and it deserves more attention than it already has
You do an amazing job at these style swaps, I especially love your Darwins. Have you ever thought of dipping your toes into those old "how to draw anime" books and roasting them through art corrections? Perhaps an ironic sort of video where you draw iconic anime characters but follow the book to the letter in "correcting" their designs, or the opposite where you fix the designs given in the book with actual artistic choices.
@@TheHarryGoldShow I would think the tricky part would be just how many there are, and all under the same title (being that you can't trademark something that generic). And the fact that (at least) one of them is a 100% legit actually-drawn-by-mangaka book series with excellent instructions and techniques. It would be like trying to discuss one of those increasingly common franchises that keeps going back to the original plain title over and over, so you have to add the year in parentheses after it each time...
Vincent Price is such a Nice way to start Spooky month, that and the reminder of the how much of a nightmare twitter tends to be Ed, Edd and Eddy's version + Dexter's were my favorites but may be my old man's bias. I aspire to be like you, man. Your passion for learning and recreating what makes a style a style is so cool to me, and something Ive always aspired for myself. But you’re so darn good at it- it makes me so happy every time you put out a video
Great stuff, always love seeing characters being translated into entirely different art styles, it doesn't always work most times, but it is fun. Also the illustrated celebrity is Vincent Price, he stared in various horror films such as The Fly(the 1958 version) The Masque of the Red Death and The Raven. With him also lending his voice for song Thriller and the movie The Great Mouse Detective.
Vincent Leonard Price Jr. was an American actor, art historian, art collector, and gourmet cook. He appeared on stage, television, and radio, and in more than 100 films. Price has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, one for motion pictures and one for television.
Love this video. But let me tell ya, you missed the chance to portray Darwin as a corrupted gem, like you did with Spongebob becoming a SatAM monster in the TMNT art.
Goodness, I am continually always left feeling totally in awe at the end of each video you make. The fact that the Muppets characters didn't end up looking like total monstrous abominations was completely shocking. The caricature at the end was none other than the great Vincent Price.
It's always funny how CN, Nick and Disney seemingly lack the resources to pick an artist from their respective show and draw Darwin or Bluey on the art style that they should be familiar with. But that would require more planning and respect of their shows for what is a quick and easy social media post.
It's worth pointing out that, at least in the case of the Bluey one, most companies aren't making these with their own artists; they're likely finding a piece of fanart and thinking "Ooh, that's cute. Let's share that." While that's really lazy on their part, they shouldn't get the hate for the art being bad, lol
Harry, I've had "drawing [blank] in different styles" in my mind for years now and I'm glad I found your videos because you've been saying what I've been thinking! It's been a slight pet peeve of mine that characters being drawn in another art style is just drawn like one of the main characters and it never made sense to me. The filters, brushes, everything is marvelously done and looks like you straight up cut them out of a screenshot! Also, that's a very nice caricature of what looks to be Vincent Price 🧡
that's the horror legend that is Vincent Price, he appeared on the Muppets a few times!, he was also in a beer advert where he dressed as a polar bear, how fitting! I love these videos, seeing how you interpret different styles, the adventure time Darwin was so cute

@@lizziescott well in fairness, dogs do have very square heads.
@@KairuHakubi Not that square. Lol. Alot of Disney's animals are drawn more realistically, especially in things like the lion king franchise. The forced blockhead there just looks incredibly out of place..I get the intentions. But he made such a fuss about the OG not actually following the shows styles rules, it feels even worse that he chose to completely ignore them in favor if forcing in one of Blueys.
@@lizziescott Yeah, I get that too! I really felt kind of off put by most of them and I couldn't really put my finger on it until now. It for sure is because of that Minecraft head
as much as i love Harrys recreation of every Bluey character since he made it look SO accurate i can't still say that those Blueys look's...normal...except Bluey in PikWik style.
I would commit war crimes for Chowder Darwin
Also, I've never noticed how damn sharp your photoshop skills are. If I'm ever in a life-or-death situation where I need to turn an unsuspected cartoon character into the artstyle of the hit show Muppets Babies (2018), I now know just right guy for the gig
Talent like this shouldn’t be ignored. Thank you for your hard work!
Alright i got a complaint. For as much as you focused on adding as much orange as possible, why didnt you make his Steven Universe version a gem? making a magic fish into a magic rock isnt that out of the question, and you could keep his orangeness.
I think it could do with the fact that all of the gems are female, with Steven being the one exception as he’s half human.
@jamesolszewski3782
Wouldn't it be? Elmore's got some wacky and out there characters, I don't think a shapeshifting alien that's also a holographic projection made by a sentient piece of jewelry would be that far out of place.
@@ophelia_ortensia ehh, for a goldfish, isn't chromosomal sex kind of just a suggestion?
@jamesolszewski3782 _"A Crystal Gem wouldn't be very likely in the TAWOG universe."_
You can tell that to Uncle Grandpa for the crossover.
@jamesolszewski3782but he already did a lore change in the spongebob in tmnt one. He made him into a monster of the week
Honestly I prefer a lot of the original Cartoon Network versions of human Darwin compared to your fixes, color palette wise
Even if the outfits being pure orange make them closer to the fish design, I think it looks a bit much without more greens or blues to balance it out
Giving him a ponytail to mimic his fin was clever though
YES
It’s a really lazy way to make a character recognizable.
I always love Harry’s videos, the production value is so high, and you can tell he is committed to the prime time talk show format, it’s incredible.
Also I’m VERY convinced that the caricature at the end is Vincent Price.
I believe that the exquisite actor that you have so masterfully drawn is none other than Vincent Price.
15:08 it really gives me more breadwinners vibes than anything.
Omg yeah it totally does 😅
I believe Darwin being black was a pretty big community headcannon thing? So it's kinda cute that CN acknowledges it.
In that one anime scene in the shipping hes drawn as black
Its not a head canon if its in the show 😂
@@MorningStarIDEK oh I didn't know, was it probably that one episode where the ice cream girl's fanfics came to life?
He has a very black voice. You can pretty much tell by the voice.
@@kactilove5543 and that whole episode was making jokes about the fandom
Dude
Even when adding the context of the episode
Op still is right
My favorite parts of these videos is hearing you describe the styles for some of my favorite shows, then seeing it applied to the character.
I gotta admit, seeing bluey in the style of Sesame Street or the muppets is quite interesting.
11:53 *OH.*

I had the first name, but I kept thinking the name Vincent Van Dyke. Thank you for helping me figure out who that was.
Darn you beat me to it! I agree, I think it is Vincent Price. The mustache and raised eyebrow were the kickers.
I know how he'd do mine for sure
"crooked eyes that really needed the flip-canvas button a few more times, entire bodies aligned along singular flat planes, and frequently being able to see too far around multiple sides of an object make it clear this artist is stereoblind and literally imprinted on 2D drawings because they look just as genuine as real life"
11:46 "Tis but a scratch"
16:10 HOLY SHIT THATS ME!!!! Thank you so much this really made my day to see!!
Glad I've met this channel, because it's perfectly describes styles' characteristics and it's really fun to watch as an artist!
I love watching these. Not only do I get to see great art, but I also end up leaving with a better understanding of the original art styles
I love these series, not only because he improves the said drawings but he also tells you what to do and what not
5:36 I feel like their’s was kinda stronger for this one. The fin looking hair works really well, and yours been a little flat compared to theirs. You could be made the hair a little more textured
Steven universe doesnt texture hair, unless its garnets massive afro
it is always a good day when the harry gold show uploads

@@howbadcoulditbe "It's always a good day when the new episodes of Harry Gold Show get on air."
9:42 "WHY WOULD THIS DO THIS TO YOU? its just a bear but turned blue! is this the best they could do? blue. ey."
Bear in the BBH only uses the standard "muppet eyes" (big white sclera w/ black pupils) for some characters, especially the small ones like the mouse, but for larger characters (as Bluey, a dog, would probably be) the norm is the 'beady black eyes' design.
Incredible video as always
17:14 I want to see more of Bluey King of the Hill characters, I love Hank’s design.
These episodes are a lot of fun. Keep roasting weak art swaps! Love the drawing of Vincent Price at the end just in time for spooky season 💀🎃
Though I 100% agree that the mono-orange colour palette isn't particularly pleasing for the human redesigns, it may be more true to the original character's colour scheme but then again I don't think that if a human Darwin was to actually be in these shows, he'd wear just a plain orange outfit...
why has disney/nick not hired you yet harry gold? You are a cool artist!
He probably makes money making these TH-cam videos. Which is sad
Considering the kind of stuff that goes on behind the scenes there, probably because he hasn't applied
Likely cause he hasn't applied. Also he's in Australia haha.
So adaptable! I wouldn't be shocked if you were already in the illustration industry, sick!!
Thank you very kindly!!
YOU RECOGNIZE THE REST BUT NOT BATTY FROM FERNGULLY??
HE WAS VOICED BY ROBIN WILLIAMS!!!!
*YO THE NAME IS BATTY*
They did bluey dirty.
Harry Gold is back at teaching megacorpos how to do their job
Also 2:13 is an excellent callback
I wish the uploads were more frequent, but the amount of effort put into each video is so high, i cant even be mad
Yee it hard to make them that fast with the amount or art he make pure video
Disney, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon ,
just hire this guy
Impossible, they'd have to pay him actual money instead of cents on the dollar
I love how your designs kept Darwin’s face shape! With the huge head coupled with a really skinny body and tiny legs is a great call! Especially silhouette wise!
But that being said, your Decterms Lab version of him is by far my favorite one! You just made him extra adorable while keeping his shape the same.
You videos remind me how much fun I have when I try to draw characters in different art styles too!
I don't understand how these ANIMATION companies get these styles SO wrong, like YOU ARE AN ANIMATION COMPANY WHAT??
I argue they have interns to make these redraws while any professional character designer are busy with shows that are being made. Like you can't have someone working on Fiona and Cake to stop working and make these redraws. A random intern that does social media? I'm aure they're skilled enough to make something for their daily posts.
These are definitely just being done by some intern who is decent at drawing but not like some incredible style replicating expert
That kind of commitment is extremely admirable.
to be fair, darwin’s knd design is really good
I loved that one, he looked so hilarious
I love the muppets art styles you did! They are my favorite things you have done❤
although im quite a fan of these videos, I literally got out of my seat and shouted out "AGAIN?". im so shocked you have to make another one of these yet again, they havent learned anything. either way, I really enjoy ur content, keep it up
what a beautiful video the artist puts lots of effort into the drawing and even more effort into the script I find this video wonderful and it deserves more attention than it already has
You do an amazing job at these style swaps, I especially love your Darwins.
Thanks! I have indeed considered doing something with those 'How to draw Anime' books, some of them are truly terrible...
Bluey in different Disney designs just looks like the main characters of those series, but just with her recolour!
Vincent Price is such a Nice way to start Spooky month, that and the reminder of the how much of a nightmare twitter tends to be
Ed, Edd and Eddy's version + Dexter's were my favorites but may be my old man's bias.
(Also, I feel you're taking your sanity to a breaking point with things like those muppet versions)
I aspire to be like you, man. Your passion for learning and recreating what makes a style a style is so cool to me, and something Ive always aspired for myself. But you’re so darn good at it- it makes me so happy every time you put out a video
This is the only time I will watch something involving Bluey.
Thanks for making Bluey something I can look at Harry Gold Show!
you couldn't look at it already?
@@Xhepyxopilawell I can look at it, but I don’t want to 💀
I love the Pikwik Pack style of Bluey. She's always so sweet and innocent.
We need this man to work on a cartoon fan reboot
Vincent Leonard Price Jr. was an American actor, art historian, art collector, and gourmet cook. He appeared on stage, television, and radio, and in more than 100 films. Price has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, one for motion pictures and one for television.
Love this video. But let me tell ya, you missed the chance to portray Darwin as a corrupted gem, like you did with Spongebob becoming a SatAM monster in the TMNT art.
"Let me look it up on my phone real quick"
*pulls up a fucking rotary phone*
The Lion Guard "style" is just recoloured main character... At this point, I could do this better myself.
Your videos man! So good! The quality, the drawings, the scripts, everything!
I love seeing Harry Gold make 3d with 2d software.
2:40 seeing jj mccullough as a wojack was not something i expected from harry gold but i sure do love to see it
It's worth pointing out that, at least in the case of the Bluey one, most companies aren't making these with their own artists; they're likely finding a piece of fanart and thinking "Ooh, that's cute.
Fixing art is wrong... Unless it is the art of souless mega corporations
that's the horror legend that is Vincent Price, he appeared on the Muppets a few times!, he was also in a beer advert where he dressed as a polar bear, how fitting!
I love these videos, seeing how you interpret different styles, the adventure time Darwin was so cute
So uh,nick made a "Patrick in different art styles" and it's literally just a photoshopped version of the nasb Patrick render
Hey, could you tell me where to find it? I tried looking it up but nothing came up.
The way that he roasted the kids from CNKND 😭 Nobody got it as bad had as they did lmao
The few times Darwin has canonically been portrayed as a human in the amazing world of gunball he has been a dark skinned person with orange hair
These really get me wanting to draw again! I'm so glad I found your channel!
For the caricature, I do believe that's Vincent Price.
