  • Slackware was the real elite distro all along.
People hype the Arch installation which isn't even difficult.
I will be releasing my installation of hyperbola video in the near future.

Absolutely not. I just love Arch for the fact that I know what is going into my OS. Elitist are a joke and seriously nobody likes them. They are anti Linux and anti open source if they think that way. Also I use Arch so I can make the joke.... I use Arch BTW. Haha, no but seriously I use Arch btw.

Not about elitism. When I built my current ATX tower, I used the then newest version of Core i5 CPU with the latest generation of Intel GPU built in.
Debian Stable won't support the graphics of such a machine until the next version to come out after those processors have been replaced in the market by something newer that the new DS won't support. Meanwhile, the rolling release means that Arch supported it just as soon as I could put the machine together and install it.
In my emergency/roadtrip laptop I run Debian Stable because I don't always remember to update it every couple of weeks like I should and DS is the distro most forgiving of that.
Never had any luck installing Debian with the /home folder on a separate partition, because the way Debian's partition editor works, one has to set up the "home" partition before the mount point it needs exists, causing it to fail.
Meanwhile, that manual command line install in Arch makes it pretty simple to figure out not only that, but how to expand on that and make my own unconventional partitioning setup which I maintain has performance advantages, but is only doable on a single-user computer.
That's the beauty of Linux. There's always room for you to do you.
