Took me about 25 minutes to figure it out by ear slowed down, The ending lick is: Up a Dmaj7 arpeggio, down a Cmaj7 arpeggio, up the same Cmaj7 arpeggio. To descending notes of A, Eb, E, C, B. To Emaj7 chord to end it! For any musicians that want that 1940s sorta lick. It's easy, exotic and outside sounding, and gorgeous!
Always knocked out by Robyn's voice and performances. She's a real artist and isn't emulating anyone else, and shouldn't. Thanks again for another very enjoyable video.
This is probably my favorite song with Robyn in it. It finally looks like she's enjoying herself and actually having some fun with her songs. plus that wink at the end melted me
Haha I freaking love this song, so I screeched and screamed when I saw this upload. There's a version from this anime titled " Kids On The Slope" that I think just about everyone should check out.
Such a good anime. I really appreciated the strong Japanese accents that came through when they were singing in English. That last Jazz medley is definitely my favourite moment from the series! So glad to see another Kids on The Slope fan!
This cover was also good but I too love Nanri Yuuka's version in the anime, maybe because it sounds more "childish" (not in a bad way or anything) and you can listen to many times over and over~
Sure it's a Christmas song - love how Mike plays "Deck the Halls" at about 1:05, especially with Scott playing along after a moment. And then there's Scott's cheeky insertion of some Carol of the Bells around 1:36, too. Plus I love the performance itself - good work, guys. :-)
When the dog bites When the bee stings When I'm feeling sad... I simply remember my favorite things And then I don't feel so bad Rain drops on roses and whiskers on kittens, Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens, Brown paper packages tied up with strings... These are a few of my favorite things. Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudles, Door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles, Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings... These are a few of my favorite things. Wow, that little phrase from Giant Steps' solo there at the end is just the burning hot cherry at the top of a huge cake with schnitzel and noodles. Immaculate.
Robyn You Are A Delight! Love the wink at the end. Scott & crew awesome as per usual. You are all a few of my newest favorite things. May You All have a marvelous old year's night and a blessed and protected new year!
One of the best in a long time i feel!! It has that original PMJ feel and all those time changes were so so cool and effortless Amazing arrangement Scott, amazing vocals Robin!!
i'm in love with the trumpet guy, he isso handsome and he should come to the concert in spain :)...and she looks so elegant with that outfit...loved the music as always, one of my favourite songs this time :D
It's so great to hear from Robyn! I know it's not long she's been gone exactly, it's just so many people now. And a lot of the girls are great and some of the guys are decent... but Robyn will always be my favorite! She's the star in my eyes and I want to hear more from her!!!
Robyn sounds better here than she has in a while, to my ears; I'm glad her time off from PMJ has had some benefit, even if we don't get to hear her as much! Always nice to see/hear someone progressing and improving. And an excellent take on a classic song, as well; love that Scott threw in some other holiday tunes during the instrumentals. (I heard Carol of the Bells at one point, but I'm sure others are there - I'll have to listen for them next time.)
This song... I've got an old music box that plays this melody and I have never knew the name of this song...But now, thanks to this video, I do! (whoever will read this comment, sorry about my bad English, I'm Italian haha)
I broke my jaw on 12/13 & Robyn Adel Anderson on vocals is one of my favorite things (people) I listen to when I can't bite, when my teeth sting, when I'm feeling sad. That probably reads badly or even a little internet creepy but whatever, take the compliment!
Oh man, I love an arrangement that starts on the bridge. Kinda wish this was a little more Coltrane, but this was pretty good :)
I love it too!
a wild insaneintherain has been found lol

Gotta try it now!!
Robyn looks like a princess in this video. She's gorgeous. As always, I love her voice and the way she sings
Postmodern Jukebox, Scott Bradlee, Robyn's voice... these are a few of my favorite things...
One of my favorite tracks from their Christmas Album..which is amazing btw.
I love all covers of PMJ with R. A. A.!
I agree!!!
+Igor Maxwel totally love there music
Love Robyn. Love her singing. But kinda wish this was an instrumental. My boy is killing it on the horn and deserves to be heard.
Well, yeah. But one or the other - his horn drowns out her vocals at times.
Always knocked out by Robyn's voice and performances. She's a real artist and isn't emulating anyone else, and shouldn't. Thanks again for another very enjoyable video.
But she needs singing lessons.
This is probably my favorite song with Robyn in it. It finally looks like she's enjoying herself and actually having some fun with her songs. plus that wink at the end melted me
right on
Have always loved Robyn’s voice!
Who is the trumpeter? Love the edge he gives to this hit.
+breener411 According to the video description, he's Mike Cottone
The pianist played some Christmas songs, almost unnoticed.
The rhythm section knocked it out of the park on this one.
Haha I freaking love this song, so I screeched and screamed when I saw this upload.
There's a version from this anime titled " Kids On The Slope" that I think just about everyone should check out.
Thank you for the suggestion, that's another great version.
well...that was amazing

Rwededyet
I just realized that there are two versions from that anime. To me the instrumental one is the better of the two.
Robyn continues to amaze with her versatility and energy.

I love the way she moves, not just in this video but all of them. She's got talent.
That little touch of Christmas in 1:06 is brilliant.
Always with the right eye wink at the end of every song!

Brings back memories from watching Sakamichi no Apollon :) I even searched the original song for the first time when I heard it from that anime...
It doesn't feel like Christmas without Robyn tipping us a wink.
