Echo Quan (Ke Huy Quan’s wife) is so sweet. I saw the movie 4 times the day it was released, and two of those were Q&As with Jon, Ke, and Stephanie. After the second Q&A, she came up to me and said “You’ve seen this movie a lot!” to which I shyly agreed. Then she said “And I see you crying every time,” which I’m not gonna lie was kind of embarrassing but also felt validating to have her acknowledge how powerful this movie is and to share that with her. She insisted I get a picture with Ke despite him being swarmed with fans (as he should be!) and got his attention and introduced me to him and took a picture of us. Since the release I’ve thought a lot about the empathy and generosity she showed me-a complete stranger-and how that gesture really felt like so much of what this story is about. So glad to hear everyone talking about how much of that kindness she brought to the set ❤️

Paul Rodgers the editor said in his Oscars Press Room comments that they gave their extra Oscars tickets to crew members! How cool is that? (Also explains the thunderous applause for EEAAO during the ceremony- they stacked the crowd 😂)
Masterpiece of a movie. Loved every second. Laughed cried laughed and cried again and cheered by myself in a theater. LOVED it. I got a private showing at an AMC theater just me dead center and I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF THIS MOVIE. I have seen it at least 5 times I see something new everytime. I see it from Evelyn's Joys and Waymons point of view every time I re watch it. TOP 5 ALL TIME!
The Daniels, production team, actors, everyone: please please please stay the way you are. Especially the Daniels who've signed on with the Universal. I think this movie works so beautifully because, like they've mentioned many times, the stage is set for miraculous things to happen, not through sheer luck - people are open, receptive, trusting, and nice to each other. When these conditions come together, the flow will form, and as they've said, people would feel like it's not just a job and something that'd require care and heart and creativity for this precious thing to come into being.
The Martial Club team were parodying Hongkong fight scenes for a long time in their TH-cam channel, until they were brought to Jackie Chan Attention a couple of years ago. Andy Le was also roped in to be the death Dealer in Shang chi and was part of their stunt team. Hence it is no surprise that Michelle yeoh said that it felt like it a Hong Kong Fight choreographed set. Glad the martial club are getting recognised for their acrobatic athleticism and physical comedy timing.
I understand the need for trailers, but I'm so glad I didn't see it before watching the film. Way too much of the magic of the experience is given away...

I had some idea of what I was in for, having seen Swiss Army Man, but later went down several rabbit holes of the Daniels' other work, interviews w/ cast members (including various panels) & Son Lux. I legit cheered in my living room for many of the Oscars this movie won (especially Ke & Michelle's, torn b/t Stephanie & Jamie Lee, but loved the latter's acceptance speech). Well deserved! Bonus learning about your Sustainability Coordinator! 😊 Hopefully you can incorporate this role in future projects as well. 🙏🏻

Just like she did in the Hong Kong film Industry in the 1980's, she is presently challenging the "good ole boys club" in Hollywood, breaking stereotypes and barriers. Coming of age during a time when Feminism was flourishing + from an open-minded family, Michelle is a not only a bold, sophisticated, pioneering, decorous, articulate, skilled marital artist, but also a world renowned actor + role model. She is a product of Feminism + simultaneously, Michelle, with all her achievements, has moved Feminism forward immensely.
Is it possible to have this movie on IMAX throughout the country? I've seen it twice already and I really want to see it in IMAX. Best movie I've ever seen!!

58:27 I think a lot of people feel the same way where if you're expecting something to happen you're not going to react the same and by infusing humor and silliness into the movie you're breaking down the guard then hitting them with something they don't expect. Horror would be a good example, often times directors try too hard to scare you but end up falling flat but when you inject something like humor in the case of Evil Dead or Religion in the case of the Exorcist it works much better.
