Son Lux talks to Rolling Stone about what it was like working with the Daniels to create an elaborate 49-track-deep film score for "Everything Everywhere All At Once." They discuss collaborating with OutKast's Andre 3000, David Byrne, Mitksi, Moses Sumney and Randy Newman on several of the tracks and how they found a balance between creating a soundtrack that's both gritty and beautiful.

I didn't even KNOW Son Lux had created the score for this beautiful film until 2 days after I saw it, and when I found out, I broke down in happy tears. I'm so happy they got this opportunity to contribute so fully to this masterpiece!!

Hans could never pull my soul like son lux did. That sneaky nod to weapons at the end. Chef's kiss.

Loved Son Lux for almost over a decade, since We Are Rising. Awesome to find them in such an amazing film.

When every big budget gets Hans Zimmer, they chose unknowns and they did a great job too.

Not unknown to me! But I get your point.

      Son Lux are not "unknowns"

Definitely not unknowns. Maybe to normies. But they’ve been an amazing band for a decade

Son lux are well known to fans of quality experimental pop and it will have to be recognized that Hans Zimmer is an impostor who is just good at respecting the codes of writing and without any particular talent (and even if it is not his assistants who do all the work)... no melody, obvious harmony, absent rhythmic originality...

It was a (Relatively) small budget film

I did not expect Son Lux to all look like the same guy.

When I was watching this movie the music felt so familiar. I’m so happy to find out all of the music was made from son lux. I’ve been a fan for so long.

I had never heard of Son Lux, but their soundtrack contributes so much to the film. It evokes emotional responses perfectly. Great job! I love this film.

Does anyone know the title of the chinese opera song, the one in the beginning of the "Opera fight" track?

Apparently it's called 《好久没到这方来》 and it's a Sichuan folk song (this seems like a good version: th-cam.com/video/Xi1eJ0JpNo0/w-d-xo.html)

I was mind blown after looking up Son Lux's soundtrack filmography after seeing this movie.....because they really didn't have one!! What?? No. Fkn. Way. Turns out Ryan Lott personally had decent experience but still.....holy shit. The best film score I've heard in a looooong time. I thought they were guaranteed an Oscar for it but that was my only pick that didn't win!!
