Here's a battle idea: Kingfisher vs Flying Fish Basically, planes that can dive into the water vs submarines that can glide for a moment. Planes can only melee, have infinite repairs, can either have jet engines or thrusters and two underwater propellers (to get them out of the water). Submarines have guns and only allowed to fire above water, and wings for them to glide. Planes have to dive down to hit the subs, while subs have to glide to shoot the planes.
@@locke_ytb Yep! That or just regular last one standing wins. I'm thinking 2v2 for this one. The reason why I think the planes should get infinite repairs is because they may break themselves crashing into the water (especially shallow water) before doing any damage to the subs.
@@jocosesonata I'm just wondering about that because the Subs can simply stay underwater forever and escape the Planes with ease. There's no incentive for the Subs to fight the Planes. As for the planes having infinite repairs due to crashing, it poses a problem for 2v2 royale where planes are essentially too buff with infinite repairs. I'm sure there's a workaround to all this! I do like the theme of water vs air battle.

Been watching for about 6 years now since you first did the review of the piston in scrap mechanic and it just scares me that it feels like yesterday that I watched. I even remember a couple details like testing the horizontal strength of a maxed out piston or a wave machine that moved barrels. What I’m trying to say is that you’ve made me laugh all these years and I just want to thank you for that.
i want to see that too! that together with the "plane that can dip into water / submarine that can glide" idea from another comment would be nice. submarines have to stay near the surface (baloons trigger automatically, shut off engines) and planes have to stay low
@josephle5373 using the shutoff could even be a strategy in the fight. Get some speed and go up using momentum to get higher, adjust aim, and dive bomb the others. Risky, but could be interesting.
A neat MM idea, revisit to gliding subs where u can only shoot while above water. But now with the new updates for the waves and new parts it'd be neat to see how the rounds and builds would be different.
mono-prop sub drones! The only movement forward, back, up, down, left, and right is via a singular propeller, then aiming is allowed via gyros so you can act like a turret around the propeller.
yeah planes with those tail rotors seem more similar to RL planes like the f-22 where dogfighiting kinda becomes who can shoot first and more accurately

I feel like I know the answer just based on how each method of propulsion is separated and how sub-optimally (no pun intended) they performed, but do the tail rotors actually work underwater? If they don't, and I'm sure we can make this as painful as possible, how about you guys to an "incorrect propulsion sub battle." You have to make a sub powered by something that is not meant for underwater. So the propeller, large propeller, any helicopter blade setup, and the tail rotor. Super slow, hard to maneuver and you're weapon is the tank cannon. You can rename it as a "Sea Chungus Battle." Which one of your slow chungus's is the most chungus of the seas?

I have an idea for a plane build challenge: Make a fighter plane with aim-able weapons, but here's the catch: The plane *controls itself* instead of being controlled by you. The difficulty here is that the plane would need to strike a good balance between steering itself towards where your guns are pointed and keeping itself stable and at a safe altitude.
you could do a dogfight where you rotate your builds each round, so you have to build in some things to mess up the other guys but not mess up yourself

For example, a car that never stops going forward or a boat that goes in circles in the waves. You could have no HUD and use signal flares as an added level of realism to find them. You could also just do hide and seek and use fireworks/flares as the clues as well...
Here’s a couple of ideas for you to try: 1) build an aircraft that can function like an airplane without the vertical stabilizer. 2) build a rocket that you can put on your aircraft that when fired, rocket goes out and at a predetermined time sets off an EMP or two randomly or targeted. Basically install an EMP gun on a rocket/missile.🤪
Something that'd be interesting is if someone was able to make some kind of program or mod that can on-the-fly calibrate an augmentation system to allow control of an aircraft that is damaged with parts coming off during combat... or at least allow you to have as much control of your aircraft as mechanically possible. The way such a system could work is it would detect when the craft is damaged, and start to try and calibrate the controls such that the aircraft can still fly straight and with as much control as possible for the pilot. If it's a program that runs along side Trailmakers, perhaps it would simulate the same craft in the same state in some instance and determine what inputs need to be made for the aircraft to fly straight. It could possibly even sound an alarm if there isn't enough engine power to stay airborne, or if there is a major flight control problem (such as no or not enough roll/pitch/yaw control). This is of course just an idea. If anyone who knows what they're doing wants to take a shot at something like this, it would be cool and I'd love to see a video demonstrating such a system. Of course, this can't really be done in-game with logic, especially because that logic would not only be complicated, but vulnerable to being damaged and destroyed thus rendering the system useless. It could also lead to control problems if the logic is damaged causing the pilot to loose control of the aircraft even if all control surfaces are completely intact.
Suggestion:- use the tail propeller for under water velocity and only use wing parts for control no gyros for control and maximum tail propeller is 5 and for boost only use two under propeller for 10 seconds Trailmaker
Idea: instead of 1 or 2 guns that change, have only one source of thrust or/and lift or/and roll that change and have emps as the gun that could affect the pieces causing the driver to spiral into death
An idea for future dogfight builds, have some flaps on the left side dedicated to a button and some on right right dedicated to a different button, so if part of a wing gets shot off you can increase the lift on just that side to compensate.
I was thinking for a multiplayer trailmakers concept um... Lemme explain my thought process here... So I was thinking helicopter tail props as thrust is smart but what if you had a helicopter that's uses it for it's intended purpose except the Heli blades provide the thrust and the tail prop acts as roll. Then this got me thinking, what if you guys made fighter jets but the conditions are you can't use the tail prop as thrust but can use anything else, you can only have ONE WING on either side of your cockpit/center of mass, and you cannot use flaps ailerons or anything like that for maneuvering, roll must come from a single tail prop on the end of the wing opposite your cockpit, and pitch/yaw only come from the tail which again can only be one wing on the same side as your front wing.

Since gyros are so good, do a gyro only land battle. Only can use basic blocks and gyros (melee battle). Have to make custom way of movement with gyros.
If you can get four players, I think two teams each with one ship and one sub would be fun. Whichever team loses their ship first loses. Perhaps have a default ship and everyone designs their own sub.
i'd like to see you guys do a "we use eachother's build" like every round you rotate which vehicle you are in. and the final round is in your own vehicle so you have to actually make a good build.

Would like to see some asymmetric battles. Like low speed bomber vs high speed fighter (as in the fighter's stall speed higher than the bomber's max). Could do a pilot and gunner trying to bomb a target versus a fighter defending it.
Subplans, you need to control the submarines like plans, they have lots of bouncy so they want to flot to the surface (crash to ground) I believe "aerodynamics" fluid dynamics work in scrap, so you can use that to build you subs control surface. A standard submarine is more like control of a space ship

I came up with an idea where its a dogfight where instead of a block, power core, or complexity limit, the only limit there is, is a weight limit. So as an example you can use any amount of blocks as long as the plane goes below 200kg

Battle idea: Do a battle between like three people, and each person can choose a class, like a heavy that is tanky and slow, a melee that is light and fast, and maybe even like an all rounder that isnt to fast or to slow and has decent fire power
Idea for another battle "Amphibious operations:" The attacking team needs to move some number of shipping containers on the aircraft carrier to a delivery location on the Danger Zone map. The defending team must stop them at all costs. Scoring is based on either time or number of repairs needed to move the cargo ashore. Could be a cool combination of planes/helis/boats/cranes.
Do a battle where you jump out of the water and then you can shoot. I remember you did this when the high seas came out and I’m curious what would happen with the new parts especially gyros. and if you don’t do that, I would love to see some more sale action, so maybe a sailboat battle could be cool

You should do a low altitude dogfight. Use altitude sensors to shut off your engines if you get too far above the water.

I would love to see a flying wing concept plane that uses a horizontal row of these at the back rather than a column.

You should do a EMP car vs a plain where the car shoots the EMPs and the plane needs to survive
Battle idea:
Do a battle between like three people, and each person can choose a class, like a heavy that is tanky and slow, a melee that is light and fast, and maybe even like an all rounder that isnt to fast or to slow and has decent fire power
Idea for another battle "Amphibious operations:" The attacking team needs to move some number of shipping containers on the aircraft carrier to a delivery location on the Danger Zone map. The defending team must stop them at all costs. Scoring is based on either time or number of repairs needed to move the cargo ashore. Could be a cool combination of planes/helis/boats/cranes.
Do a battle where you jump out of the water and then you can shoot. I remember you did this when the high seas came out and I’m curious what would happen with the new parts especially gyros. and if you don’t do that, I would love to see some more sale action, so maybe a sailboat battle could be cool
