The sad moment when you realize that AC4 is the story of a man towards a path of self-destruction and when he was ready to make amends, he had lost so much but gained so little
That's a very good story, far better than the "They killed my family so i am going to kill them all" thing in AC2 i don't think Unity will have a better story but i hope they will try to make interesting things.
Everything Edward is: Former privateer of British navy fearless pirate/assassin The best gunslinger there was Master of the seas An excellent fighter the best assassin in naval combat... overall the greatest protagonist of all A.C games. R.I.P Edward Kenway
HiddenAssassin32 Yeah but that's cheating. When discussing best AC protagonists, one must not include Altair and Ezio, for they would easily top the list. But if Edward was given three games to develop like Ezio has, I feel like he'd easily be better than Ezio too.
It really annoys me that fans often say that "real fans" should hate AC4 for not being too Assassin-y. That is bullshit. The series isn't called The Assassins or The Assassin Order, it's Assassin's Creed. For anyone who's played the game, the creed's importance is incredibly obvious. Early-ish in the game, in response to the creed, Edward says "Everything is permitted? I like the sound of that. Thinking what I like and acting how I please." The story depicts him changing as a man, and when later speaking about the same subject says "It's hard to say. For if Nothing is true, then why believe anything? And if everything is permitted... why not chase every desire?" "It might be that this idea is only the beginning of Wisdom, and not its final form.". It just bothers me that people feel so narcissistic and self-important to declare themselves the only "true fans", while completely missing something as crucial as that.
When I play the AC games, I always respect the main character because each one has a different story and point of view. For example: Edward was a pirate, that's just how he was, his life. It doesn't make AC IV a pirate game. AC IV had more assassins than AC 3 actually.
Edward was never really an assassin. He just knew about them and took their principles and somewhat shaped them into his own version that made him happy. Don't get me wrong, I think AC4 was awesome, and Edward a true hero who did the assassins bidding without knowing about it. At the same time, I think Ubisoft orchestrated this entire story line (up until AC4) this way on purpose, to point out a level of irony that exists in today's modern culture/ I think Edward Kenway can relate to a lot of people in today's society, who want to break out on their own and take control of their life. I loved this video because it speaks of so many truths to even my own life. If you remember in the original AC, the creed was a strict code of conduct that every assassin must follow. Altair broke a few rules (which is where AC1 started) and then went on a confusing killing spree of "targets" with each one telling Altair their story. Altair was a true assassin who wanted to do the right thing. But you don't know this until you play through revelations, which caps off not only Ezio's story (technically) but also Altair's. Game 1 to Revelations will give you the depth of the true meaning of the Brotherhood of Assassins. My point is this - there are so many variations of this game at this point but that's what makes it beautiful. But ultimately, Ezio was the ultimate Philosopher of the assassins, and held his principles close to his heart and his mind. "To say that nothing is true, is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say that everything is permitted, is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic." - Ezio "true fans" as you put it, are mostly people who understood the creed from games 1 thru 3. Edward Kenway shook it all up, and in my opinion, despite being exactly what the "rules" might imply and doing it his own way (which I enjoyed,) might have offended those people because they know Edward was really just a pirate who "met" the assassins once or twice and was on his own selfish mission the entire game. The beginning of the game could even be considered a foreshadowing- he finds an actual Assassin and TAKES his clothes. He was a poser from the beginning. But the game has many truths on Edwards journey that much of us can relate to. On a side note, let's not forget that Haythem grew up to be a fucking Templar.
This is true, but it isn't so black and white. His reasons for becoming one were fairly selfish. What the assassins wanted was already something he would of had to do anyway and since they both wanted the same thing it was a no-brainer to go along with the whole thing. Although he did respect the Assassins and understood their way of life, even being brought in as one of their own because of his deeds (which favored the assassins heavily) I feel that he did not fully become, what we know from the old assassins creed ways, an actual full fledged Assassin. But you are right. He technically did become an assassin.
AC IV has such a powerful story. How he went out to find fame and fortune. He doesn't give a shit abt the Templars or Assassins but after his friends are slowly changing and dying. He changed into completely different man :') However, most of his love ones are gone.. :'(
And sad thing is... Stede Bonnet, Blackbeard, Mary Read etc were all real people, and they died similarly if not exactly the same way they did in the game. Connecting to characters in this game is like connecting to real people in a manner of speaking.
Hessian they are real, if you look up blackbeard, they that he was shot at least 50 times and stabbed 50 times. Also with Mary read she did die in a prison.
Arno Dorian Uhm.... I said they were real, and I did say they died the same way. I'm not sure how you interpreted my post, but I said basically the exact same thing that you did.
Arno Dorian You're confusing me >.< If you agree with what I said, all you had to do was like the comment instead of boggling my brain like that ^.^ Also, I know Edward was not there.
In the end of this video should be this conversation... Jennifer: "Hmm, and what about pirates? Will I see any pirates?" Edward: "No, there's not much chance of that, I think." Jennifer: "Oh, that's rather sad. I should like to have seen one."
"Everyone you know know and love is going to die." Sadly, this is too true for Edward Kenway. His son, a Templar. His daughter, sold into slavery. His closest companions....all dead. He lost so much, yet gained....nothing. No happy ending like Ezio or Connor. He dies at 49, never got to truly enjoy life. May he be remembered. May his memory live on in the Assassin Brotherhood. For that is all we can do.
What are you saying connor never had a happy ending he also lost everything like his friends, his village, his people, his mother was died in front of him, he lost his best friend, he had to kill his own dad and also he lost Achilles who was also like a father to him connors story is so tragic
"You would see all of mankind corralled into a neatly furnished prison, safe and sober, yet dulled beyond reason and sapped of all spirit..." this quote right here is why i love edward so much. He was never buried deep in the order but still knew what its true message was.

Edward was one of the greatest assassins to ever live. he had done many bad deeds in his life but in the end after the realization of his loss he became an assassin to not only for his own freedom, because he saw what selfishness led to but to instill the freedom he once felt upon everybody. to right all the wrongs. to make amends. He became a good father, a good husband and a damn good master assassin, after all he was born that way. he knew from the start the freedom and self path picking was the only way to truly live. it only took him years to realize he needed to share his freedoms and wills with everybody else. to create a world in the image of him. the assassins taught a free man how to create a free land. his friends may have died but it was never in vain. they died to make him realize he was going in the wrong direction. the creed turned edward into a hero, but his heroism existed in him all along. the brotherhood just unlocked it. Edwards death was also not in vain nor was his wife. Haythem may have become a templar and jennifer may have been sold into slavery but after she was freed haythem did the part of avenging his father and later on Connor did the part of making His grandfather proud. fighting from the beginning for the thing Edward took so long to comprehend. Freedom to all of mankind.

It was a really depressing tale you are introduced to a great cast of characters you can connect with then one by one they all die Stede Bonnet and Mary Read's child was taken away Stede Bonnet died on deck Mary Read (Captain James Kidd) died of a disease in prison Edward "Blackbeard" Thatch died in front of you with nothing you could do to stop it "Calico" Jack Rackham betrayed your trust and died in prision Bartholomew "Black Bart" Roberts betrayed you and had to be killed by you Benjamin Hornigold joined the Spanish and died by your blade Charles Vane tried to kill you and forced your blade on him Adéwalé left to join the Assassins Caroline "Scott" Kenway died of unknown causes the legacy of Nassau was destroyed all of your friends dead even your wife it took the death of everyone he knew and loved for him to change and it was his mistakes that let it happen
Edward is my favorite assassin, even though he's not the best objectively. What I like about him is that he is more realistic than most of the other assassins. A guy who wants the best life for himself, what's wrong with that? It's relatable because that's what normal people want.
This has to be one of the best videos I've ever seen. The story of Edward was captured so beautifully. We really get to see his transition from a man only looking for a bit of coin to a man actually wanting to right his wrongs and help people. The ending still gets me though... Losing all those people along the way... Ed Thatch, Benjamin Hornigold, Stede Bonnet, Charles Vane, Jack Rackham, and Mary Read... And then poor Caroline Scott... Edward's story is full of death and tragedy... But I can't get enough of it.
I oughta say, this is a really good tribute! I finished the game and I believe that it is really sad that he lost, mostly everyone he cared about. Even BlackBeard ;^; .
"You humbled me once and I took that hard lesson and I bettered myself... Die knowing that for all our conflict you helped make a soldier out of a scoundrel. Leave this life for a lasting peace... down among the dead !"
After the realease of Rogue when we know how Adéwalé's story ends you should make him a tribute. His story is pretty cool to. Going from slaveboy to leader of the assassins
i like edward probably more than even ezio.. his story is so relatable. sometimes someones desires consume and next thing they know theyve hit rock bottom, losing almost everyone and everything in the end... but its never too late to change
Peasant to Privateer. Privateer to Pirate. Pirate to Master Assassin. Truly was a better man than many lead on. Even as a Templar myself, I can acknowledge that he truly was "a scoundrel made into a soldier."
"I want food that don't make me sick. I want walls to withstand the wind. I want a decent life." I get what you're saying. I understand it all.. You want a good life. But, sometimes.. Its better to be happy with what you have than to expect more. The more you have the less happier you are.
+Raeyne Jaymeson What you're saying isn't wrong if he was talking about a better car or a fancier house, but I don't agree that he should settle on eating spoiled food and being cold all the time. While I go agree that Edward shouldn't have turned to pirating and should've focused on more honest work, he did need to do something to better the living conditions of both himself and his wife.
Here's a couple of fun facts. 1- Edward Kenways father in law(Jennifer Scott Kenways dad) was a templar, who ordered Edwards parents home to be burned down. Edward returned to his old him a decade later after a life of piracy and wanted revenge(killing them) his mother was horrified that her son became a killer and disowned him(his father disowned him years ago, and also died years ago). True story. 2- Edward Kenway never got to kill Carolines father because Duncan Walpole's(The assassin who edward killed in the beginning of the game) cousin who was aware of the assassin and templar war(but chose to remain neutral) wanted peace, and negotiated with Edward, and bought him the huge house that he lived in until his death. 3- Haytham lives in Queens Anne sqare(In real life a hospital is located there however I forgot the name) that hospital owns the copyrights to peter pan, a movie about pirates, and native Americans (Haythams dad was a pirate, and his son was a native american
My 2nd favorite character... he’s gone such a long path, I’m proud of him for changing his ways at the end, truly one of the best, Requiescat en pace friend, thank you for carrying the tradition of our brotherhood. ☠️ 🏴☠️
+Darren Butler He got stabbed at his mansion back in London by two mercenaries by order of Master Templar Reginald Birch who worked for Edward Kenway. It was the night of Haytham's birthday when they launched an attack by killing Edward, kidnapping Jennifer (daughter of Edward) and later educating Haytham to become a Templar.
Even tough this game was not coded build properly and there were quite a lot of glitches, the story makes the game so much better than some other games. (I am not saying other games are bad, I am just saying the reason why this game is number one in my opinion)
righttt!!!! this guy/ppl did a hella great job with this video. Love Edward Kenway, one of my favorite Assassins. Love the music nd tribute. great work whoever did this needed to direct Assassin's Creed The Movie nd all the rest to come. VICTORY TO THE ASSASSINS!!!!!!!💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
i was kind of hoping you'd include edward's line from his hallucinations "you left! when i needed you the most!" when he thinks he's talking to caroline. idk why but the emotion in his voice there is so raw and it gives me goosebumps every time.
Man these ac games are just tragic...he got stabbed in the chest and died,Reginald Birch took Haytham to train him into a deadly templar only to be killed by his own son.Connor's story was even more tragic...

Mary Read (Captain James Kidd) died of a disease in prison
Edward "Blackbeard" Thatch died in front of you with nothing you could do to stop it
"Calico" Jack Rackham betrayed your trust and died in prision
Bartholomew "Black Bart" Roberts betrayed you and had to be killed by you
Benjamin Hornigold joined the Spanish and died by your blade
Charles Vane tried to kill you and forced your blade on him
Adéwalé left to join the Assassins
Caroline "Scott" Kenway died of unknown causes
the legacy of Nassau was destroyed all of your friends dead even your wife it took the death of everyone he knew and loved for him to change and it was his mistakes that let it happen
*Stede Bonnet wasn't with Mary and Anne, it's not their child, he dies separately, execution by hanging.
But yep, agreed.
Vector Didact And just for reasons like this, i just can't understand how people prefer ac ii to this
vane died in prison or hanged I think
Idk why rackhams death hit me so hard, just seeing him dead, helpless in a gibbet
AC4.. ALL OF MY FEELS! This was beautiful, a fantastic tribute!
Edward is my favorite assassin, even though he's not the best objectively. What I like about him is that he is more realistic than most of the other assassins. A guy who wants the best life for himself, what's wrong with that? It's relatable because that's what normal people want.
Edward Kenway is the most Iconic character I've ever meet in a video game!!
i liked connor better
Awwe the ending... the feelings. I loved this game. By far one of the best in the series. I loved James Kidd the most
This deserves 1,000,000 views.
He wasn't the leader
Mustafa Gocmen he was a master assassin though
Yh but not a leader
+Assassin Hunter you templar
Actually I kill both Assassins and Templars sometimes are the Assassins the good guys and sometime the templars.
Wow, very well done...a worthy tribute, and that means something since Edward is my favorite AC character.
Can't help but picture Constantine everytime I hear his voice now.
Lol IKR?!?!? ;)
I LOVE WHEN YOU MAKE ONE OF THESE!!
Magnifique tribute, j'ai adoré. J'ai fini le jeu hier, et je suis impressionné par ce qu'il a été, et ce trailer le reflète très bien !
Edward kenway the best assassin and protaganist this series has ever created, long live captain kenway
You... You earned my sub... But most importantly.... You've got my respect... This was amazing brother
i like edward probably more than even ezio.. his story is so relatable. sometimes someones desires consume and next thing they know theyve hit rock bottom, losing almost everyone and everything in the end... but its never too late to change
this makes the game look even better. I don't even know how many times I have finished this game, but it wont be the last time.
One of the best videos done by this channel... x3 watched it about 3 times, love the music
It's 2022 and i still ABSOLUTELY love the game.
Black Flag will forever be my favorite AC game I have ever played. It may have been my first, but it will always be the one I love the most.
Jadore ces quelques videos sur Assassin Creed, cest juste excellent, continue!
It's incredible how this tribute brings shivers down my pine every damned time.
There’s still so much story to tell about Edward Kenway. Ubisoft dropped the ball not continuing with Edward
Peasant to Privateer.
Privateer to Pirate.
Pirate to Master Assassin.
Truly was a better man than many lead on. Even as a Templar myself, I can acknowledge that he truly was "a scoundrel made into a soldier."
Great tribute to a great character
Can't stop watching this
"I want food that don't make me sick.
He had good intentions, but took the only way he thought he could
I was crying when Edward saw his daughter for the first time and then holding his son at the opera house. That was just awesome.
My introduction to the franchise Edward will always have a special place in my heart
This is fantastic, you deserve an award mate ;)
Incredible how he changed himself from pirate scumbag to true assassin
this shows that Connor took his vicious fighting from his grandfather, the Kenways are always brutal, but Connor and Edward, they were something else
Merci à tous pour le soutiens :)
My 2nd favorite character... he’s gone such a long path, I’m proud of him for changing his ways at the end, truly one of the best, Requiescat en pace friend, thank you for carrying the tradition of our brotherhood. ☠️ 🏴☠️
Assassin's Creed Univers Just...makes the best videos!!!! Excellent vidoe! keep up the good work
Black Flag is my favorite Assassins Creed
Same and Edward Kenway is my favorite assassin

Yeah sure ! Check out or other vids :)
Juste énorme et magnifique !
This is beautifull. And edward is my favourite assassin
Awesome, awesome, awesome! So heartbreaking and sad. I love AC4 and I love Edward Kenway. And I hate the way he died.
what happened
+Darren Butler He got stabbed at his mansion back in London by two mercenaries by order of Master Templar Reginald Birch who worked for Edward Kenway. It was the night of Haytham's birthday when they launched an attack by killing Edward, kidnapping Jennifer (daughter of Edward) and later educating Haytham to become a Templar.
+Berry B dam Edward was my favorite assassin
+Darren Butler Yes... mine too.
+Berry B Well thanks for that man I thought Haythem had chosen the Templars when he was young but they wrong for selling his daughter
A world without gold we might have been hero's!!!
Blackbeard (RIP)
That's so good.
Black flag was my first assassin’s creed game and it will always be my favorite
Even tough this game was not coded build properly and there were quite a lot of glitches, the story makes the game so much better than some other games. (I am not saying other games are bad, I am just saying the reason why this game is number one in my opinion)
Peak of Assassins Creed. In a downwards spiral ever since
Dude dude dude.. You're awesome. You should have directed the movie man. You can sync the music perfectly with the vids. Just cool bros
righttt!!!! this guy/ppl did a hella great job with this video. Love Edward Kenway, one of my favorite Assassins. Love the music nd tribute. great work whoever did this needed to direct Assassin's Creed The Movie nd all the rest to come. VICTORY TO THE ASSASSINS!!!!!!!💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
c'est juste magnifique !!! **
the first 33 seconds are one of the most inspiring scenes in AC History.
these days i am playing this game, yes in 2020. i almost cried watching this video.
Beautiful Tribute
Wow that last part really put me in a emotional mood right there ;)
i was kind of hoping you'd include edward's line from his hallucinations "you left! when i needed you the most!" when he thinks he's talking to caroline. idk why but the emotion in his voice there is so raw and it gives me goosebumps every time.
You totally deserve it m8... thats was amazing
Excellent comme d'hab ! Bravo ;)
Epic as always!
Man I wish they had Edward in ac3 helping Connor would have been epic
i would love one for Jacob Frye once we learn more about him.
Hopefully we'll learn about his wife in the Last Maharajah DLC.
Man these ac games are just tragic...he got stabbed in the chest and died,Reginald Birch took Haytham to train him into a deadly templar only to be killed by his own son.Connor's story was even more tragic...
this is the perfect ac4 trailer!!!
AMAZING JOB u made there !!
Super montage j'ai pas encore le jeu mais je sens que l'histoire est aussi prenante que le 3
