Yeah, I agree with you!!! I’m about to look into this further because now you have me thinking.. is it uncontrollable because of “genetics” or is it what we’re doing/not doing that’s making it happen? I mean, I notice a difference when I make sure that section is properly moisturized but not being manipulated as much. The texture of that section feels more rough to me in comparison to the rest of my coils/curls. To get curl and more bounce without curlers, you could do a loop "knot" at the ends. You could do that by loop knotting a bunch together or doing them singly.
Also, I found that a cut matters a lot with twist outs and short to shoulder length hair. Hair needs to be cut in the shape you want the style to be in, for best results.

  • @sweetie_babie

Okay I been loc'd up for years, but what I used to do in my twist outs was to purposefully not have clean parts and make sure there were no clear lines in my head, that way when I took it down it would look fuller. I also would do like four strand twists because I hated trying to separate the twists and losing the curl definition, with four stands I automatically knew where to separate and didn't lose ANYTHING.
    Just some tips.

Yes, I saw it when I kept doing tight low buns/ ponytails my hair couldn't take it and broke off in that middle area and the ends of my front hair might barely make it in the bun/ponytail causing breakage from the band.

  • @lolitafalana

The breakage and bald spot is exactly why I change my parts up. I try to avoid sectioning and styling my hair in the same parts for those exact reasons. I think what you're experiencing is a combination of styling "technique" and bad trims. At least that the theory as it applies to me. Stylists these days don't part my hair and cut. They just comb your hair out and trim what's visible. The longest hairs aren't the only hairs that need cutting, people!

I believe it’s called the banding method 🤷🏾‍♀️ I also saw some hair weights on Instagram that you put at the end of the hair but I haven’t tried it myself. Honestly when I do my twist outs (which is every wash bc my textures changed and my hair acts like she never met my curly products before 🤨) and after I take them down and have those visible partitions 🤣 I take a pic and LIGHTLY fluff the roots while gently pulling the hair and them parted seas are GONE boo 💁🏽‍♀️💗

i can relate to this so much, everytime i try a twist out it goes wrong and i end up tying my hair up. i think i should also try different products, finding the right products is such a mission..... i also have breakage at the exact same place, !!! this is just so relatable

Hey Will I love your videos and your hair. I think you would like three strand twists. They look more full and I always get the curl I want. It's a bit different different to get used to doing but worth learning.. I promise. ❤

I need Will to go to sleep 😂 did he say a sandwich at 3am also usually after I first take my twists down I put the dryer at a distance and just fluff with it helps get rid of my parts and give a bit of volume but the style might not last as long

I have the same breakage in the same spot. Combination of wearing twists and hats that created friction on the strands

twist out looks great 😊 before i cut my hair i used to put a spritz of water and dab of oil on my hair to separate the twists where the part would be (at the back) or just take a pic lightly to the roots. you're soooo right about the bun😅😅😅😂 survivor is already such a mess this season!
