I've watched many mx88 demos. Few spend more that 10 seconds on EP and organ. They do a few acoustic piano sounds then jump to layering. 20 minutes later the viewer still hasn't heard much real sounds. So thanks for all the sounds.
When you're playing live the sound will cut off when you change you're voice tone unlike to the px560 it don't cut off but the sound on board are so good of this mx88
So you know about both the Yamaha MX88 and the Casio PX560? I'm set to buy the PX560. Should I check out the MX88 first? I really like all of the features of the PX560, especially the 256 note polyphony, the 5.3" color touch display, and the recording and editing options. But, listening to this, and having had some Yamaha keyboards that I really liked, I'm wondering if I should consider the MX88 as well. What's your opinion? Thanks
How do I configure the FC7 pedal to control the layer volume only? I want to be able to play the piano at full volume uncontrolled by the FC7 and bring in the strings with the volume pedal independently. Can someone please help me with this configuration?
I bought the MX88 about a year and 1/2 ago. Lots of great patches, and then a lot i never use. I also hat that the first 100 or so saved performances are no able to be removed. I would rather have those slots for my own performance setups. The Classic 74 Rhodes sound is great...except it has too much depth on the vibrato; however, I found a way to reduce the depth and the keys sound wonderful. I think it's a good buy for the money.
The video is good if you want to hear what the patches sound like, but I'm more interested in the other functions of the keyboard, eg. editing parameters, creating performances and other functions, especially since I just got my MX88.
Finally...the keyboard I've been looking for my entire adult life! Oh Yeah...I'm getting one...soon! Only problem now is I'll probably end up re-recording every piano & keyboard track on every one of my tunes...URG! Anyone want a P-255 in excellent condition?
@@georgejohnson7637 Thanks for the reply but ironically I just finished a project where I recorded one piano track using my P255, and via midi I mirrored a second piano track on my MX88, and also mirrored a third track thru my Motif sound module. This produced an enormously full piano sound. But during this undertaking I initially used the MX as the master but it just didn't feel quite right. So I switched it out for my P255 as the master and noticed the change right away. Now I know the keyboard platforms are basically the same and whether or not I just have more miles on my P255 is any ones guess, but my fingers were happier with the P255, and I finished the project successfully. So I'll be keeping my trusty P255 after all, not to mention as proved on this project, I have so many more options. BTW... I am STILL dealing with the repair issue and it has become a nightmare! Yamaha is giving it a second look and now considering replacing it with a new unit.
@@DKS-SYNTH-LAB Thanks for replying so quickly. Excellent videos. I think that the PX560 is closer to what I want. But hearing and watching you play the MX88 had me considering it. Nice work.

No sé qué modelo de yamaha podria ser. Sé lo básico de piano, perp deseo aprender más incluso en un sintetizador.
any studio monitors, on a cheaper side you can surely consider some Yamaha HS monitors, or Adam T series.. If you can invest more money look at Genelec or Adam (A series)
I want a 88 key keyboard for my studio. I like the Yamaha S90ES & the MX88. Which should I get? They both sound great! I like the pianos on the ES better than the XS. But I like the MX pianos but are they the xs or the xf? I’m confused! Help!!😣
Hi thanks for the review! Have you tried the Arturia Keylab 88 Mk2? Ithink the Arturia may have better DAW integration and huge sound library in Analog Lab.. But maybe MX88 keybed slightly better and the Yamaha piano sounds nice... having problems to find a local shop to try both hands on...
Yes but the keylab 88 is only a master keyboard.. no sounds inside.. the mx88 is the 88 key version of mx line of synth from Yamaha.. totally different instruments
Great demo! Are you connecting the keyboard thru your audio interface, or directly to the computer via USB? If it's thru the interface, what cables are you using?
@@DKS-SYNTH-LAB wow! I have a mx61. One problem is that I hear “clicking” for la k of a better term. Can I make edits to have a better sound or is it a speaker system issue?
Complimenti , molto bravo.
Great video! Would you mind please sharing how you recorded the audio for this video? Were you mixed into a DAW or was this straight from PA speakers into your video recorder, etc. Thank you!
Hi, like all my videos, i've connected the instrument directly into the audio interface, recorded in a daw (no matter what daw you use), after the recording, i've only balanced the volume of any sounds (no other audio processing) and it's done! after that, i've exported the wav file and merged with video
@@DKS-SYNTH-LAB Are there special features in DAWs that allow for easy or auto "merging" or synching the wav audio with the associated video. I've only used Audacity and Wavosaur, so I suppose an upgrade to another DAW might be necessary. Anyway, I'm pretty unskilled regarding using a DAW. Just doing simple tweaks and edits. I synched some wav audio with a video once, but I did it manually by matching a note I hit right before recording. Then I had to fiddle with it for a while before it looked right. I'm thinking that there must be a better way. Thanks

Majestic sounds on this piano
Thanks for sharing, the sound is pretty close to the P120 sound, which is a bit limited for Rhodes and Hammond.
Do these feel as good as the MOTIF
