Wait isn’t this the same Mega 64 that has the same Rocco Botte who in 2016 paid to fly out a then 19-year-old fan he preyed on that made a statement she was subjected to incredible emotional abuse and manipulation in an effort to coerce sex? That Rocco Botte? The one in this video? With the gross perv face and neckbeard? THAT Rocco Botte? The one who buys $100+ toys using money made from fans and does hour long videos to said devoted teenage following further funding sexual escapades with e-girls? THAT Rocco Botte? That being said, no one HAD to purchase merch before 2016 but because fans did they funded a sex pests trauma inflicting spiral.
Been watching since a UK Nintendo magazine featured the Luigis Mansion and MGS skits on a free DVD, Mega64 has been a staple in my life for a long time
Same, I was in middle school when I got a video game magazine that had a DVD with the California Games skit. I had that burned into the back of my brain until I found them again in the early 2010s.
I love that chat created skit ultimately always ends up the same: the main character would just ended up freaking out to the point of dying. I immediately reminded about Derrick's remark earlier: This is what happened if a commitee try to make something. 😂
I watched most of this yesterday, but the funniest bit to me was when Garrett and Bryan are doing the PPS and need to fill in a bit more time, Bryan goes “how do you like it so far?” And that fucking KILLED me
"Gollum Muckbang is one of our worst performing videos" ... Sorry Derrick, it actually did better than the majority of skits you guys have written since.
It was surprisingly relevant what with the gollem game drama and events. The subtle parallels and the use of realistic panic attack... All of it. Priceless.
im 50 minutes in and already haven't laughed this hard in a while. I stopped watching the podcast for quite a while due to just watching other things but I gotta get back on it lol
Man, whoever created that "ugly hollywood actor" list has their beauty standard very skewed. How the hell edward james olmos is ugly? Dude looks so badass in miami vice and even still looks badass when he's older in battlestar galactica.
man, i feel like derek seriously does not want to be there anymore, podcast wise. maybe its because hes been away for so long now but I feel like his energy isnt there anymore. he always has the look that hes just not interested in anything being talked and practically looks like hes just in pain just being up there. and jokes aside, even him as mister midnight, he still has that same negative vibe compared to the rest of the group. really hope im just thinking too much into this since he hasnt been on the podcast for a while.
@@mega64 Hi Derrick, we all know Rocco would love the return of the couch so I know he didn't write such slander. Shawn is too nice to say he hates couches.
This segment of the show, where they ranked their own shirts, was a terrible idea from the start. The argument that "it's their merch, so they can do and say what they want" doesn't hold up here. Their business thrives on the support of their fanbase, who buy the merch not just for the sake of having a shirt but to support Mega64. Seeing most of their designs ranked lower than a B gives the impression that they never liked those designs to begin with. It feels like they were pushing merch without genuinely liking it, which begs the question: why promote those shirts in the first place? Fans trust Mega64 because they're a small business known for providing quality content and products. But seeing those low rankings is hurtful. It feels like a big slap in the face to the fans who supported them. This makes it hard to trust them when they promote a shirt on their podcast or in their newsletters. While it's fine to critique their videos and skits, am I the only one who thinks that ranking their own merch is a recipe for disaster? Fans bought those shirts at a specific time in their lives to support their favorite channel, only to find out that the creators didn't even like them. It feels like a dismissive "thanks for your money, loser" message to their loyal supporters.
I can tell you’re not a creative. Often you’ll create and design stuff that you think is hot shit, then 6 months later think absolutely sucks because you feel like you’ve done so much better since. It’s why musicians end up not wanting to play their older stuff live, because over their creative career their interests and output have changed, and they end up feeling it’s not a true representation of their current creative output
@@DigitalBroomstick That argument doesn't hold water. Just because creatives often reassess their work doesn't mean it's wise to publicly trash the products your fans bought to support you. My original point stands: ranking their own merch so poorly undermines the trust and goodwill of their supporters, who bought those shirts out of loyalty and a desire to help Mega64, not to hear later that the creators themselves don't like them. It’s a slap in the face to the fans, regardless of the typical creative process. Plus they included external artists designs for 64 hours specials where they had zero creative involvement.
@@bidou7789 Not true in my opinion. It's a silly skit designed to just get thoughts on their designs in retrospect. As the other person mentioned it is just a creator perspective for them, it does not mean they released the shirts in the past just to push out shirts. They probably liked them at the time, and for a lot of them you hear them say "it was a great idea just not executed well." As someone who makes music for other people to use in commercial video games I usually look at the work I have done in the past and go "oh that could have been much better it's not that great." It does not mean I just pushed it on a developer to get their money.
I am a rare breed- I SORT OF like Ryan Reynolds. I watched him a lot in 2 Guys A Girl and a Pizza Place before he did movies, but I think in all his movies and interviews are cringe. I do think that video game movie was pretty cool though. And he does seem like a genuinely "nice guy", like he would be a good friend, he just seems a bit unbearable because he tries a little too hard on camera maybe? IDK
After reading the comments here, people totally exagerated how “bad” the T-shirt ranking was. It was a totally serviceable tier ranking and I really didn’t get that much animosity from it. They usually explained why they had any issues with things and Derrick was just trying to keep thinngs moving. Felt like the hate was totally overblown. The Casa Bonita segment and the chat makes a video segment were both awesome, fun Mega64 stuff.
Fans getting mad some of the boys don’t like past designs of shirts is hilarious. Wait until they find out musicians barely like their number one hit songs!
am i the only internet soldier that likes the deadpool movies? I've never gotten the opinion of other Mega64 fans but I feel like I am. I don't love Ryan Reynolds but those movies are funny to me.
