OC’s selling of injuries honestly makes this reign and whoever he faces look great
Well done on his part.
OC has defended this title 21 times. He’s wrestled and appeared at every show. He’s doing two house shows this week and likely wrestling again on Wednesday. I saw an article a couple days ago where Kenny said Mox was the MVP of the company, but I’m putting OC up there too. He’s reliable, he constantly puts on bangers, and he’s elevating this title. He deserves so much respect.

A lot of people give OC crap because of his size and his gimmick. But he reminds me so much of pre-WM4 Randy Savage, who was also a consistent worker that people called undersized. For everything that OC lacks, he makes up for with great showmanship and storytelling. And if you know mic work isn't your strong point, develop a gimmick that doesn't require you to do it. How long did Taker and Kane go without ever being handed a mic?
Gotta Love OC. His run as AEW International Champion has been amazing.

Selling a hand doesn’t justify what Tony is doing. This dude goes first every week and ratings drop every first 15 minutes of dynamite

And like I said in that other thread, the opener doesn't really effect the ratings of the whole show, typically the main event has the biggest effect on the ratings of the whole show, and the opener is most important for hyping up the live crowd, which OC does very effectively. You keep pushing this bad faith narrative about ratings because the idea that "he can't work" has absolutely been proven false by his run as International champion.
Selling the hand is just one example, it's the fact that he is building a long term story out of this title reign from week to week, and being really subtle about it. Like you will notice he uses his left hand to do as much as he possibly can, or he will "forget" and use his right hand on instinct, for the purpose of selling it, Even for little stuff like grabbing and moving the opponent around, he'll use his left hand most of the time.
But of course, theres more to it than that. His entire character is based on high IQ ring psychology. The whole "hurr, he puts his hands in his pockets" argument overlooks the purpose of it.
Muhammad Ali used to fight with his hands down by his hips most of the time, rather than up in a standard guard position, which any boxing coach would tell you is practically suicide, especially on a professional level, and ESPECIALLY on the heavyweight level. But Ali did it for a very specific purpose, to lure his enemies into throwing punches he could counter. It was built as an integral part of his style, relying on pull slips and distance management for defense, and, of vital importance to the topic at hand, using openings provided by his opponents for offense, basically tricking them into walking themselves into his punches.
Orange Cassidy literally does the same thing, but is more entertaining about it. At this point anyone who doesn't understand that is intentionally deluding themselves.

I really thought Daniel Garcia was gonna win this one. Honestly, he probably should have, but the story they told is still pretty solid.

@@JT-bs2lm Well Garcia already held RoH Pure championship. That belt is pretty close to mid card. And because Garcia is associated with Main Eventers like Danielson, Moxley and Jericho. In a year I can see him being mid card champ. When JAS falls, Garcia will go up. As JAS is all about Jericho Leeching, same as with Inner Circle. AEW really likes Garcia.
