Matches like this will keep him in the midcard. Without MJF around to protect him from TK's crap booking, Wardlow is dead meat, regardless of how good he could be if he had a smart mentor to look out for him.

This is great. Wardlow doing defenses week after week at Dynamite is a proper step to elevate the AEW TNT Championship. All 3 times OC challenged for it were fun to watch.
Actually if the title is defended every single week then it takes away from the value and mystique of it, as it isn’t special anymore. We can still see the champion each week in angles or interviews or matches , but if it is defended every week it becomes “just another match” and the title that means nothin because it’s on every week. Have it defended when appropriate depending on the booking and story in question. Make it make sense and mean something . Also don’t have the champion selling so much to a guy who is hard to impossible to take serious or as a serious challenger to a monster like wardlow .

His selling is great, his style is unique and his offence is explosive. And I didnt even start to say anything about his character and crowd-connection.

It made no sense to book this match. It certainly didn't benefit Wardlow, who should be the one getting the push here. Orange Cassidy will never be more than a one note joke midcarder. If you think his shtick is funny (after 3 years of the same thing every time I don't see how you could) then great. But Wardlow has the potential to be a real star in professional wrestling. His booking since the MJF match has been atrocious. First he feuded with Smart Mark Sterling... now they have him fighting Orange friggin Cassidy in a super competitive match. If they keep this up they're gonna completely derail any momentum he had. Seems like they're trying pretty hard to do just that. I don't get it...

How was this great? Wardlow looked weak against the Jiffy Lube employee. This was embarrassing and Wardlow lost credibility as a legit beast from this.
This match shows how well OC knows his character. Everything he did was so in character, and even with that he made a compelling match, which truly felt competitive. Loved this match.
I wasn't emotionally damaged by the match, I enjoyed every second of it. I loved watching both men. The chainsaw bit was also hilarious. Great match! I like the fact that Orange fought until the end to. I think he was a good first challenge for Wardlow.

Great idea to make Wardlow's first defense against a very unorthodox opponent like OC. He needs to slowly grow into a more complete wrestler and giving him opponents that will keep his matches interesting is the ideal choice.

This match blew my mind I felt so skeptical about it, that this was too much of a style clash, and that having 2 relatively hot babyfaces face off in what feels like a throwaway opener was going to throw off the crowd, and was going to stop both of their steam in a way But no, these guys absolutely killed it, they made it work beautifully. Wardlow looked strong as hell, but Orange also brought the fight to Wardlow, and they both got their moments to shine. The show of respect at the end really made it for me. Amazing match.
You and I have a very different definition of almost. Wardlow comfortably won here even if it wasn’t a 2 minute squash bout he always seemed to be on top, never looked weak and not once did it seems like OC was going to win

The best TNT champion was Cody, with Miro as a close second. Brodie never got a chance to be as great of a TNT champion as he could have been. If he hadn't got sick, I think his run would have looked a lot like Miro's.

Wardlow giving respect to Orange st the end was a beautiful picture to what the Wardlow reign will be like.
This match blew my mind
I felt so skeptical about it, that this was too much of a style clash, and that having 2 relatively hot babyfaces face off in what feels like a throwaway opener was going to throw off the crowd, and was going to stop both of their steam in a way
But no, these guys absolutely killed it, they made it work beautifully. Wardlow looked strong as hell, but Orange also brought the fight to Wardlow, and they both got their moments to shine.
The show of respect at the end really made it for me. Amazing match.

You and I have a very different definition of almost. Wardlow comfortably won here even if it wasn’t a 2 minute squash bout he always seemed to be on top, never looked weak and not once did it seems like OC was going to win

The best TNT champion was Cody, with Miro as a close second.
Brodie never got a chance to be as great of a TNT champion as he could have been. If he hadn't got sick, I think his run would have looked a lot like Miro's.

I know Wardlow is on a roll, but everything around MJF felt magnificent. He elevated Wardlow to the moon, and now that he's gone, Wardlow kind of seems repetitive and feels like just another story. Hoping for a good run for him with the TNT title.
Doesn't need to be in a feud right now...just keep giving him matches and title defenses now he's the champion feuds will organically happen

That’s what happens when the roster is full of guys who can’t really work. Bunch of characters, bunch of “move-doers,” but very few workers. Wardlow is too green to lead a match, and that’s when you get shit like this. Dude’s a supposed beast, but just had a heavily competitive match with a 170 pound comedy act lmfao

We all know Wardlow is a beast, but MAN he made OC look incredible in this one. Plus the show of respect at the end? I was on my feet clapping screaming “THATS MY CHAMP”
The F10 to me should be his finisher and I don’t think anyone should’ve kicked out of it so early into his title run. I think he should’ve had a biggish title defense with a rival they can find and have them kick out of it in a pay-per-view it would mean more
