    I mean this in the nicest way possible. The title of the video isn't worded the best. RV roof maintenance is not eliminated, you still have to get up on the roof and check things out, and make sure everything is in tip top shape. Yes eternabond tape will eliminate the need for a caulking gun and the self leveling sealant for sealing around all your RV roof fixtures. You still need to maintain your RV roof, clean it, and check up on it. Don't forget that you need to maintain the seals around your windows, storage compartment doors, corners of RV, etc.

      I do not have to worry about whether the roof is sun damaged, ripping apart or punctured from hail. I get on the roof occasionally to put our Starlink up and casually glance here or there. But with the Eternabond protecting the seams of the appliance and vent covers and the Henry's covering everything, I have 99.9% eliminated roof maintenance. All the other things you mentioned (seals around windows, storage, etc) are not roof maintenance and, yes, require regular checkup. But our roof just survived a massive Nebraska hail storm and in checking in great detail after that, there was no sign of damage or possibility for water intrusion. It's maintenance free.

    Where did you buy the Henrys Tropi Cool sealant and what did you pay

    • @CalledToWander
      @CalledToWander  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Home depot. Prices vary. Don't remember what we paid 3 years ago but its $350 now for 5 gal.

    How did you go around that long vent ?

    • @CalledToWander
      @CalledToWander  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@leighhancock9975 that’s just a cap for the fridge vent. The actual vent in the roof is under that, so the tape is underneath that cap

    Keep going... you're doing so well. I can tell it's beginning to drag on you a bit but it's looking wonderful.

    So no issues with Henry 887 sticking to the top of the Eternabond?

    • @CalledToWander
      @CalledToWander  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      None whatsoever. Coming up in 1 year and no issues.

    I hear folks rave about eternabond, but is it really anything more than typical butyl rubber tape? It looks just like the "special" joist tape I put down when rebuilding my wood deck at home.

    • @CalledToWander
      @CalledToWander  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure what joist tape is or does when it comes to sealing. But Eternabond is fantastic. We carry extra because once you slap it on you don't have to worry anymore. We had tears in our awning and we put a few strips there rather than buying new fabric. The eternabond far outlasted the fabric. Its worth the money in our opinion.

      @@CalledToWander I'm definitely thinking about putting some EB around any vents/protrusions on the camper I'm picking up, just to be proactive. The joist tape I mentioned is just a very similar looking product.. butyl rubber tape that you cover deck joists with before you put your boards down. Supposed to seal the water out to prevent rot.

    Did you put that eterna bond right over the top of the lap sealant on the front cap.

    • @CalledToWander
      @CalledToWander  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Give the lap sealant an extra day (2 days total) to dry. In places where we rushed the lap sealant dried but is sort of mushy. We laid the Eternabond over the lap sealant on the front cap and around all vent fans, and anywhere there was a seal (shower skylight, AC, fridge vent, etc). We also laid the Eternabond around the edges of the roof with about 1/2" overlapping down the side and then up and onto the roof. Everything has held together great.

    Does it stick to Dicor? My slide has globs of dicor over screws at the end of the slide. Could I cover them all over with this?

    • @CalledToWander
      @CalledToWander  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should stick to the dicor fine. But nothing will stick to the Henry’s once applied

    Does eternabond stick well on the silicone sealant on the roof ?

    • @CalledToWander
      @CalledToWander  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope. Nothing sticks to silicone but silicone. So do all your roof maintenance and upgrades first, slap down the Eternabond where you want it and then throw 2 coats of Henry Tropi-cool on top of the roof. The last layer will leave the roof slick, but watertight. Then you can carry caulk tubes of Henry Tropi-cool or a gallon of it in the event you really need it. amzn.to/3FhK5pz It is available at Home Depot on the road so we carry a tube just in case we scrape the roof on tree branches or what not, but know that in a pinch we could buy more to glob up the roof if we had to. It's worked very well since we applied it.

      @@CalledToWander does Tropi-cool good for TPO roofs? Did you take the Tropi-cool to the edge of the Eternabond or rolled over it?
