That disappearing shipwreck glitch has been in the game since they launched Lost Shipments. At this point, it's a feature because there WAS a glitch where the ship would spawn, but there would be NO loot in the shipwreck. Makes me think the devs management has its priorities mixed up.
@qstar710 When did you see this? The games latest release notes does say it was patched, but honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it's still there. The devs don't know what they are doing half the time.
The best merchant exploit is actually just using the blunderbomb glitch to have everyone on a galleon buy an unfathomable amount wood and fruit crates and then sell them all. On community weekend you can get from 0 to 500 in about 3-4 hours
Man, i've tried the previous exploit and i'm seeing this one is very similar, but theses are way more slower than just making the first clue respawn until you get a key and start again, as I saw in a comment, your method require saling and to a solo sloop make the exploit way less profitable
Here is an exploit maybe worth looking in to? Requires 2 people and a bit of setting up. - You can get the burning blade sword to the shores of gold tall tale island if you are holding it while on your mast ladder. - Then you can have a checkpoint for the last chapter of the shores of gold, take the sword to the gold hoarder and it kills him very quickly, about 1 minute. - Person who has the checkpoint needs to log out so they don't lose it. Once the gold hoarder is dead, log back in, put the voyage back down, use the terrain clip exploit to get back to the vault, repeat. - The voyage completion gives 8,000 gold and the skull 10,000 gold.

Could you just stack a bunch of keys and a few crates for a while they spam the quest and rush the sunken ships for the loot and manifest or would that be less efficient
Yo, there is another merchant 'exploit' that i discovered through another video. I say exploit in quotes because its more gaming the spawning mechanics than exploiting the game itself. What you do it go to a specific location on the map, south of port merrick i believe, and vote up a lost shipment quest until it says it was going TO The Finest Trading Post from Port Merrick. When that happens you can look around for the first bit of debris that has the first clue and around 30% to 35% of the time the captain cabins key will be there. Will max emissary the key sells for around 6k gold and by the time you get max emissary you will have between 10 to 15 of them, and you can keep grinding them. Can't remember where the location is specifically but you can find the video on youtube.
