This is a video I'm making in wake of discovering and tryin gout a new exploit involving gold hoarder vaults. I also included my experiences while doing it and I hope you enjoy!

Any of the ones I have found for myself was literally just through playing most the rest come from discord server dedicated to finding exploits and TH-cam

Been doing this for a few days to get some of the dark adventurer stuff as a solo slooper. Something I haven't seen anyone ever mention is that Cinder Islet has a limited number of dig sites. Where they are varies based on server, but I've never had more than 11 at a time. What I do is every time I unearth a chest, I take out one of the Brimstone Caskets and place it on the dig site. Every time I look for a new chest, I dig where I placed the brimstone caskets first. At peak efficiency you can average one chest per minute. For a solo player at least, this means you get more money per hour just by digging keys than by doing the vaults.

Though I didn't say that exactly I did show the route I follow that helps me find them the quickest!
nah i got 20 dug up all in different spots.
just a tip: the last pillar in the vault, its the pictures of the other 3 pillars, together. So, if you are lucky, you can see the 4th pillar image, and put then in the other 3 pillar and it can be in the first try. The middle picture which may be an chest, skull etc... its the the picture of the 1st pillar. Normally when you see only 1 chain in the image of the 4th pillar, its the chain of the 2nd pillar. and the 3rd pillar its the last image of the picture in the 4th pillar. This way can be done quickly if you are lucky to open the vault and the 4th pillar been the right combination of the other 3 pillars, then you make then, push the button, if it is not, roll the last pillar, and try their combination, and so on... this method is usefull when you are in a duo, because you can do the puzzle not needing those 3 medalions.
If you stack don't vote up emissary until you're done with all vaults, we did 12 yesterday and the amount of chests we had was enough to go from grade 1 to 5 just by putting the loot on the ship.
I'll let you in on a little secret. If you want to do the vaults, try doing the on a brig. You can harpoon a brig and sloop into the cave at fetchers to get the loot faster. Just be careful around eruptions because the mast sticks through the ground above and you can get them to catch fire and get knocked down. Not to mention other players being able to sink you pretty easily in a spot like that.
This is why it pays off to have checkpoints on important tall tales beforehand.

its actually just whatever island you're on. i found this when i was trying to get a vault commendation. you get stack vaults by starting the voyage whenever you've finished collecting vault loot but havent left that island. you can do it like 4-5 times before it gives a key on a different island, then you can do the same thing. im not sure what causes this but i know it works for regular captains voyages because i sold like 300k worth of vault loot from like 2 hours of vault stacking
Don’t do the vaults, sell the keys and you get 9k ish per chest. Also always do this solo as it will be so much faster. I did 30 key chests in an hour and got just over 400k and 10 levels

Update: Was solo slooping last night and noticed a galleon crew picking on a new duo sloop crew so I went to help. Soloed the galleon while they stared from their crows nest with spyglasses. Needless to say galleon wasn't happy so it rushed back full sail gaming for a ram strat, didn't work, was soloing them again and they ran towards shores so I had the new guys hop on my sloop and brought them along for the adventure. This time I let them do all the shooting to get their revenge half way to shores of gold and they had a ton of fun doing it. I let them keep everything I had and added them both. Now galleons don't scare them as much 😂

Without doing any of the vaults, just doing this solo and selling when i get to grade 5 (8 chests), i made over $450k in about 4 hours and i think 9 levels, 82-91. It only took so long because i battled the megs and skelly ships while doing it. I did 8 chests in 20 minutes while i was at the island though. Nice tip!
When i first found this, i instantly loggen on the game and started doing this as a solo sloop, i was at the 3. vault out of the 10 i planned and i realised that i won't be able to do this all alone so i switched to open crew, i told the random guy that he gets the loot to the ship while i do the rest of the vaults, moral of the story: we earned around 600k gold and i gained 14 levels.
That was some real big deck energy when you ran away to the sog 😂😊
Yeah we chose the wrong ship for this session LOL. Didn't even think about that one
4 vaults, 300k gold, tier 5 emissary, 1h 15m on a brig. From the time we set sail until selling everything it was 1h 15m. We dug up 9 keys but only did 4, sold the other 5. I think I got like 7 levels of rep. Then, we decided to just dig up keys and sell them since they were selling around 9k each, got about 170k in 30 minutes.
I havent used this method before, but from my experience of Devil's Roar, barely anyone will ever be there, so you should be fine for a long while. It's mostly just those small once in a while chances. for me at least.
Don't fully dig up the chests. Leave them slightly buried and you'll further reduce the number of possible spawn locations for the chests. It speeds it up significantly

we got a hoarders map on an island, arrived to find an ashen guardian and after killing the skelly we got to unbury treasure, the ashen chest was exactly under one of the other Xs, @@Killerbear02 is right
@@Killerbear02 Not disagreeing with you that they can in general, but using this method for a few hours straight I'm yet to see it happen. I ended up getting the island so filled with partially dug chests that they can only spawn in one or two places and it was just endless profit from there
easier strat is to do the cursed chest cheese. Leave one gally at lookout point and 1 or 2 people at booty isle. Everything you vote for cursed chest will pop on booty isle. Tap and revote. After an hour you will have 200+ plus chests on your boat. enjoy
Believe it or not me and my friends RANDOMLY figured this out before i saw any videos on it (we didnt even know you could dig the chest before getting the map)
I saw some else post this a couple days before me and I thought I came up with it but I see more and more people finding it 😭🙏
as a solo u can get at least 5 per 10 min, so 30 per hour, selling each vault key plus the 3k gold inside the chests, that alone is nearly 400k an hour, imo its worth to only sell keys BUT if you have a crew and maybe extra time then doing lots of vaults is profitable as well
I really hope I'm going to be able to try it before it gets patched. Rare if you watch this video let the expoitees keep all rep, money etc. They deserve it for finding this in the first place. I'm not saying it should stay in the game, but its still impressive. Give massive sponge credit.
I agree and I did pin the comment with his name for credit because at the time I didn't know who it belonged to
as a solo it took me like 2 hours to colect 24 keys and i wnet from lvl 91 to 100. thats just worth it. thats also the best way to get the achievment for colecting 50 keys
Put the loot in range of your harpoons and then just spam the harpoon button and you'll get everything in 30 seconds or more idk
Just a heads up, most of the experienced pvp crews will have the checkmark for Shores of Gold Saved, so that may not always get you out of trouble.
Yeah I'm pretty new to using the voyages to get away from people but wanna learn more about it just incase I need it to get away or to chase someone!
@@archpolecat5218 It can work for sure as you did, and probably your best chance if running in wind doesn't deter them. Just wanted people to know that there is a chance they may have the checkpoint as well

No fault on you for running. Not only did you have players to deal with, but the amount of chests on that boat was probably causing some serious lag and input delay
Yeah the massive amount of chests was also something I wanted to keep in my possession!
Same thing for Crescent Isle if you start quest at Sanctuary
Same for Dagger Tooth/Galleons Grave, it spawns at Kraken's Fall
Plunder Outpost gives Mermaid usually, sometime Devils Ridge
Ancient Spire does Devils Ridge almost all the time.
These are all from my experience.
On average how long does it take to find these on these bigger islands?
@archpolecat5218 a lot longer than Cinder Islet that's for sure, 9 vaults at an hour and a half but sometimes the chest is spawning in the same spot so id say 10 vault keys and hour at best.
I may still try it out and I appreciate you letting me know but at that rate some other gold hoarder exploits may do better

Well I can expect to start getting company since this is like the 4th video on this.
I was able to gain 5 ranks in GH and made about 200,000 gold in about 2 hours. Zero folks coming through.
sinking stacking exploiters as a reaper 5 feels soo good man! People are rarely stacking now due to sovereigns, so thank you for bringing stacking people to the seas again

I recall stumbling on some guys doing a redivulous amount of vaults, and they got really secretive when I asked how the hell they'd gotten so many keys in such a small amount of time.
Glad that its actually been put out there to what this method actually is so people are on a level playing field again.
to be fair, vaults only drop like marauders and seafarers chests, and ashen chests are only found where volcanoes can erupt. also you can always lose all of that loot
To add on, I'm not sure if it works on Shores of Gold (the vid I saw did it on K-9 isle), but if you bury loot and then dive to another server via the map table, you lose the dig maps but the loot will be there physically if you remember where you buried it.
It's not that great when you have a bunch of vaults worth of Seafarer's, but if you just stack keys it should be much quicker to bury less (but higher quality) loot.
Yes, I have seen this but I fear I will do it after it gets patched causing me to just lose my loot. However burying chests of keys like this could be helpful!

Was a grade 5 reaper and hunted down some kids that did 8 vaults. I was stunned to say the least
i got chased for 2 hours after i stacked like 12. they were NOT going to catch me lmao i was a solo sloop.

dude i tried this with my friend just about an hour ago, we make like 50k from 5 chests, plus we got some other trinkets like skulls and heart jewels, thank you so much for this exploit

@@archpolecat5218 thanks man, also i´d lke to ask, is it possile to do this exploit in the eastern areas? cuz digging and suddenly a volcano erupts below you is kinda annoying, plus the fear of the volcano hitting your ship, if not i´ll get used to it, btw just as i was typing this i did 5 more chests

Just did this on comunity day with a galleon, we were super efficient and got just over 1m gold per hour and around 50 gold hoarder levels
Planning on doing that tonight with some buddies, did you do the vaults or just sold the keys?
@@aguyoftheinternet7380 we did the vaults, we got 15 of them done in like an hour and a half, the main trick is to immediately start the next vault as soon as the previous one closes.
What we did was we had one guy constantly moving the loot from out of the cave to the shoreline while the other 3 people move all the loot out of the vault to just outside the vault door, and once all the loot is outside the vault door, instead of getting all the gold from the vault we would all 4 focus on moving the loot to the shoreline, and then as soon as the door closes just start up the next vault.
It’s not as hard as I’m probably making it sound. If you end up doing what we did you’ll get the hang of it super fast, the only real problem is when the volcano erupts, if that happens we will usually just get like 2 of us to sit in the boat and keep it alive while the other two keep doing vaults
yeah... im happy just to get a couple of ashen captain chests :) thats enought for me, more risk more stress.
You don’t need to vote for the golden shores tall tale to get to devil’s roar you can do an ashen pirate’s treasure to get straight to cinder islet

For anyone wondering with a competent duo sloop you can do 25 vault keys is less than an hour and complete the session in 5 hours.
With a brig it should only take you 4 hours or less.

Like you know what Islands to check for people doing different methods and it would make tucking fun. And people that get to max rep faster, won't change how they play the game.
Even though rare probably thinks the longer they can get a person to grind = better player base + reason to keep playing.
the chest should just not spawn over and over on cinder islet. there's other things, like the skull of destiny that you need for fotd, it also has compass - yet I don't think it works this same way on any of the islands? Or maybe does but nobody's found out yet. It always seems to be spawning far away somewhere. I think the main issue is with the fact that this voyage gives you map pieces, there's a bug somewhere in the code there. Where if you don't have any map pieces collected you can dig it up, potentially on any island? Or is it really oooonly on cinder islet - idk if anyone''s really tested tested all this
I haven't gone that deep into it however I know for sure it works on cinder islet every time I try it! Honestly though I will work on looking at other voyages because there might be more ways to do this than found so far
Basically the way it works as far as I've found is that theres only a few possible key spawn locations in the devils roar. The way the vault mechanics work allow for only a few set of islands to get the key, and it just so happens to work where if you sit next to cinder islet (one of the key islands), and the compass points away, the only island it can spawn on is cinder islet. If it points towards cinder islet, it's one of the other key spawning island. When they patch this out, its still going to be in the game. It's either going to make the spawning island less predictable, or it is going to have to come with the cost of sailing between two islands. The only way they can patch this out is to make it completely "randomly" generated.
Quick question does this only work for captain treasure vaults or does it also work for pirate treasure vaults
I would assume it works for both but I have only personally tested the captains, Also if you just sell keys captains drops better keys!
You can also do more chests by just tapping the chest 1 times.
Also, there is 3 rocks off in the distance you can park between if solo. This avoids the volcano and makes your ship hard to see.
The chest can still spawn in the same spot even if there's one sticking out of the ground still if that's what you are referring to.

Tested out, vaults takes 6 minutes to reset and it takes around 7-8 minutes to put ashen vaults loot in a place where we can harpoon them compared to normal islands. saying you get 2-3 levels per vaults without emmisary and 4-5 with emmisary 5, in an hour of stacking those vaults efficiency with a good crew, you would only make around 15 to 20 levels if you do not include selling time in the hour.
( + you get around 30k per vaults so only 4 vaults per hour = 120k/hour and proly less since i'm not counting selling time which is always long. )
So with those calculations, we can call this method absolute TRASH
Sounds like your just not good at it or don't have the right crew I clearly outlined over 1 million gold in a 5 hour play session that was full of side quests and not at all focused, from the vaults alone we were getting 600k gold per hour

Honestly after listening to a lot of comments and trying myself it seems like keys is the way to go but obviously doing the vaults isn't a bad idea if you fell like doing them!

i can’t seem to find the chests after doing the first step of the video, my friend & i dug the whole island but still no luck, we only managed to find 2
I mean I've had one or two I couldn't find but I can normally get 50 out of 50 no problem. My best guess would be to once again reset the quest by canceling and re voting if you can't find it but it shouldn't be that common of an occurrence

I spent 6 hours mapping out the total spawns found 14 total but it seems there’s a spot I haven’t found. Also in an hour I averaged 300k gold. Ignoring doing the vault just sailing the key and that chest

i mean of course it is... its a game. they survived a reaper attack, and our vaults treasure was their bonus haul. great night for them
you see them keg our ship, you dont see us come to talk and explain we didnt know if someone was coming back. we did our vault and started loading. they shot first and again and again.

@@osuloserMore than likely there are other islands in the game that behave in a similar way, but itd be a "nightmare" to test every island without a couple of crews to find which ones do it. Also, if you could predict where the key spawn is, it still could result in sailing. Not to mention if it spawns on a big island, youd have a lot of digging to do.
I dont think this is an exploit. Really its just spawn locations of vault keys. Still really good video, keel it up!
Thank and the reason I call it an exploit is you are exploiting a greater understand of the basic quest logic to be able to do the quest faster than normally possible
I was part of the first to start using this . I started stacking in the SoT discord and asked people to keep it on the hush so Rare doesnt patch this . Guess that didnt work out

I checked this morning and it still works good. He just upset that things like this are being spread with the larger community. (Also rare is slow to patch I'm sure we still got some time with this one!)

The entire community has known about it for a while now. These videos only help spread it a tiny amount. Though this isnt to say I'm not pissed about people publicizing methods like these.
Good tutorial but baby move to avoid conflict like that. Especially when both masts are down, that pretty much forces you to fight and defend for what’s yours.
Having both masts down is considered a losing position in a fight, the general advice if in a losing position is to run and reset. I agree that running was not the most admirable thing to do but saying that both masts being down is a reason to fight makes no sense!
Running is the oldest, and noblest of pirate traditions. You call it a baby move. It should be called smart.
This is why as a chaser, one should get that checkpoint. I wait for the day someone tries to run to the shores of gold from me.
@@dorianrobinette9712 That is but only one way to do it, tho. There's still some of the Pirate's Life and Monkey Island Tall Tales checkpoints that can take you out of that server, or straight up dive. That is, if they have nothing to lose or don't care about their loot.

10's of posts and it still hasn't been patched, also doubt they will rework how vault quests work completely just to stop people!
@@archpolecat5218 they wouldn’t do a “hot-fix” for something like this. It would need to be tested and pushed out on a scheduled release.

Yeah, but they are most likely just gonna push out new content rather than fixing the old stuff so I doubt they ever fix this kind of stuff. Rare just makes new things even more over powered to combat current grinding methods

I have no clue I literally just used our logbook from that session as well as doing the math after watching the video back but I don't think we did anything special!

I always prefer OOS, but I do everything in this game. Back in 2018 it was there is really nothing to do, to 2024...GODDAM stop with all content, lol. If I played like I how used to, I would've gotten everything thing, but time and family changes everything. I still grind, though.

It crashes just your ship sadly. All it is is the deed and logbook being updated so many times all at once.
