@@truckingwithbennii Yo big bro, help me understand what derating your trailer for a non-cdl hotshot truck and truck. So I can’t even haul 10’500.00 lbs. What do you recommend me doing to haul more than 9k lbs?? (Besides getting my cdl and a bigger truck) Please help me man!
If you don't hold a CDL, you can't have a total overall weight (truck, trailer, cargo) of 26,001 LBS after you're loaded. So with a rear axle with singles on the truck and single tandems on the trailer, that means he can haul more weight on the trailer and stay legal(trading weight), and being limited to 26,001 lbs, he still won't overload the axles or tires.
Soooo quick question... 26,000 lbs or below for Non-CDL hot shot. That includes your truck and trailer. What is your limit on how much you can carry? If your truck and trailer is 26,000 pounds what is the weight limit on how many pounds you can carry?

So you look at the stick in the door on your truck for instances my truck GVWR is 11350 so if I wanted to do non cdl I would need a trailer that was rated at 14,000 GVWR or less. 11350+14000= 25350. That keeps me under 26,000 GCWR. Now to figure how much of a load I can handle. You take weight of truck + weight of empty trailer and subtract from 26,000 lbs. for instance my truck when I weighed it in a scale was just over 9k lbs. my trailer is let’s say 7k lbs so 9+7 is 16k. 16k -26k is 10k left which means I can haul a 10k load
I have a Chevy and a Ford my Chevy is deleted and gives me no problems if you keep the egr then you’ll be at the dealership a lot just because they won’t more money after you spent $60-80,000 on a truck
