@@andremorrison7626 definitely better than Optimus killing a guy who just called a truce, like Optimus whole goal in everything transformers is to get megatron to be on his side. Anyways, super uncharacteristic of prime.
@@sadchild9478 actually, that was going to be the original ending for T3, they wanted to megatron and optimus to truce, but the story got leaked and they changed it. and its not hard to understand why optimus killed megatron at that moment, optimus has lost his comrade, and is partially responsible for the destructive of Chicago and death of millions. or at least thats how he feels as a character. I think its understandable for optimus killing megatron who tried taking earth 2 times, and simple words won't just cut it anymore and sentinel who optimus saw as a leader went against the code of a prime.
@Silence Whench I do not wish to be ho!ny anymore well actually catwoman or thunder force are but this it the worst x-men movie ever made and you can't even call it a x-men movie
Except for the fact that each new movie tries to be more "clever" and "intriguing" than the last and bogs down the plot with overcomplicated, convoluted garbage.
Sentinel is basically the Fallen done right. The whole thing in the second movie, was that they crafted a machine that extracts the energy from the sun, but they all agreed to not use the machine on any solar systems with life, until the Fallen broke that promise and tried to use it on Earth. Really both Villains are asking the same “us or them” question, but with Sentinel, it feels more personal, especially for Optimus and it feels more desperate for sentinel. I feel like this is actually kinda ruined by him killing Ironhide. It’s a great twist, but when you go as far as to kill off one of the most likeable Autobots, someone we’ve known since 2007, it’s very hard for the audience to see the nuance in Sentinel’s character. Because of this most people just see him as “you killed Ironhide” instead probably the best villain in the transformers movies.
Yeah, but if he didn't kill ironhide when he made his turncoat announcement, ironhide would surely tear him a new one rather than sit and listen for an explanation. That's why I believed he killed ironhide. Ironhide was the biggest obstacle between him and the pillars since Prime was a few minutes behind.
@@DaniMol And at least Ironhide had one more bad ass moment before getting assassinated. He stopped that pretty scary chase cold by crashing into those SUV monsters head on like a super hero! (I don't know those decepticons' names, lol, but I think Ironhide was the only autobot who could take on their savagery besides Prime of course. Sideswipe helped with the Mexican Standoff, but Ironhide had to kill both of them since little Sideswipe got kicked down.)
Megatron could have had the Fallen revive Sentinel and then they would not be defeated. Sentinel brings Cybertron while the fallen uses the machine for energon

With a better director and writers that have more agency, they very well could’ve continued the franchise.

You made a positive review for a Transformers movie? Do my eyes deceive me? I'm glad that DOTM is getting the recognition it deserves. The final climax was totally epic and action-packed. And it's definitely the greatest Transformers film to date.
DOTM's intro is the definition of epic, but i gotta give credit to AOE's being dark and intimidating while also still remaining epic as well, even if having epic intro's (as well as the movie) is something normal for the Transformers
"The opening of Dark of The Moon is one of the most consistently impactful openings to a movie." I completely agree with you and I genuinely believe something like that really did happen in real life. We really did find artificial objects on the Moon.
The finale bridge scene was the most incredible moment in bayformers history, personally. Not only were the stakes high and at risk, but when megatron (who has been the villain twice before, and undeserving of anything) shoots Sentinel Prime and saves Optimus, that earned incredible respect towards him. Unfortunately five seconds later they turn on each other but whatever. It was fun while it lasted.
in my opinion Optimus killing megatron as just plain stupid as he literally says just before "We need a truce" an opportunity to end the war but nope optimus says "FUCK THAT IMMA AXE YOU IN THE HEAD NOW" so yeah its really Primes fault the movies carried on some more
I actually like Optimus' choice to end Megatron. It shows he's hardened and become capable of making tougher choices. In other words, he became a cold-blooded, battle-forged badass, zero fucks given.
Megatron killed sentinel and “saved” optimus cause he wasn’t about to be sentinels bitch. And even then, all he said to optimus was what would you be without me
I LOVE how in the final battle of this movie we see different fronts getting small wins that help to the final great win. It also helps to raise the stakes since it shows how much of a sacrifice it is to take out the decepticon army
I remember when this film began marketing and the 1st trailer came out. I watched it over and over with excitement. Seeing it in theaters was sooooo satisfying despite the obvious flaws. Can’t believe it’s been a decade already.
I’m a Transformers mega nerd and I gotta be honest: I love the first one mainly for nostalgia at this point. It was a spectacle, a big blockbuster that appealed to 7 year old me… but it gets harder to watch as the years go by. But Dark of the Moon? Actually a pretty good action movie! The only TF movie between the ‘86 one and Bee movie that I think really has anything going for it!
True, Bee was genuinely good tho, for both action and emotional impact, can’t wait for rise of the beasts, though I’m worried they’ll introduce too much too fast
TF3 was a great movie and Should've been the last TF movie until bumblebee. And if you like bumblebee just because it was g1, DOTM was the most g1 like movie compare to the others (having a lot of autobots, megatron with soundwave, shockwave, starscream, and prime with a trailer, as well as having mirage and wheeljack) Bumblebee was good but the first trilogy is better. Even the toys from TF1 and TF3 were the best and the TF4 and TF5 toys were just trash
I disagree, it was the worse. Bloated, stupid, with a convoluted plot and Sam was utterly unlikeable. The 4-5th were better because we actually had characters on the Autobot and Decepticon sides for once, and we replaced Sam with Cade, who was actually likeable.
@@SwiftNimblefoot yeah as if cade only just use a sword to safe prime oh WAIT he didn't even do that. It was that old knight that gave him that stone thing that grew legs. Sam on the other hand literally goes through rough time in the desert and places to look for the matrix of leadership to revive prime. He also was the one who killed megatron with the all spark and not listen to prime's words when he says "put the cube in my chest now" and sam was really funny which makes the first trilogy good. Where they add some random behind-the-scenes human guy who's plan is to become a decepticon slave on a lifeless machine planet. More serious story? With a ridiculous "The Office" comedy stuck right in the middle of the movie. This was about as good as the 1st one, except it's longer, louder and more exploitive. Still the 2nd best one. Say it before, but I will say it again. The reuse of the highway scene was because it was incredibly dangerous to perform. So for everyone's safety, it was better just to reuse a few shots.
How he got the role was interesting. See Nimoy was related to Michael Bay's wife, Bay told him he was making a new TF movie and Nimoy asked if he could be in it. Bay didn't even know Leonard was Galvatron's VA back in the 80s
Something that applies across all films, is the use of real/live locations being extremely important because if or when you add VFX elements, the best results are those with pieces grounded with real things. If you can get as much stuff done with practical tricks, the less work (and odds of failure or time consumed) is required for when you go to add/adjust any given element

Dark of the Moon is one of if not the only movie where I truly wish I can experience it again for the first time. It made me laugh, cry, scared, angry, and happy all while keeping me captivated on the edge of my seat the whole way through. From Irohides death, to the autobots exile, to the autobots return, everything about it blew me away to the point where I can say this is easily the best film in the series.
I never realized how similar the third act of this movie is to Man Of Steel. Even Sentinel Prime pretty much has the same exact motivation as Zod. And this movie came out 2 years before.

Even the toys from TF1 and TF3 were the best and the TF4 and TF5 toys were just trash
I disagree, it was the worse. Bloated, stupid, with a convoluted plot and Sam was utterly unlikeable. The 4-5th were better because we actually had characters on the Autobot and Decepticon sides for once, and we replaced Sam with Cade, who was actually likeable.

the Villian is saying the generic "you don't have the balls to kill me" yet he goes screw that and proceeds to brutally murder Megatron without a second's hesitation he just wanted the war finished,
The first one was perfect. This one is my 2nd favorite. But the intro is one of the most bad ass intros i have ever seen
This movie has some of the best scenes in the franchise. The Chicago Invasion scene is my personal favourite, followed by Ironhide colliding with the Dreadbots and transforming in slow-motion
You know what would've made it even more epic? If shockwave got more than 2 minutes of screen time
Finally some recognition to DOTM/Basically my childhood.
The 3rd movie is my favorite
It’s is just really epic. It feels like the perfect ending to the bay-verse.
Are we all in agreement that this is the best one? That third act is one of the best third acts in action movie history.
Honestly, I'm very glad that I found this channel. I feel like I was the only one interested in movies in my school and I would always feel so dumb and weird but watching your videos make me feel great and the way you explain your video essays is perfection. I hope your channel sees nothing but success :)
No matter if you like or dislike bay's movies, he always makes them work and dark of the moon is a prime example of a perfect movie
To me, Transformers 3 is surely not a perfect movie. It's a perfectly executed epic movie as Filmento said that I remember thanks to great sequences with fantastic music.
A perfect movie? have you only seen ten movies or something?
People don't weight their words before uttering them anymore
The internet snobbery towards Michael bay movies always made me laugh. Random TH-camr hates Michael bay. But he makes studios billions. Maybe random TH-cam don’t know what they’re talking about. Bay makes movies for teenage boys. Most men at least remember what that was like. Bay knows what he’s doing and he is damn good at it
The internet pseudo-intellectual hate boner for Bay will never cease to make me laugh. I love how one of the most common criticisms about the TF films is always "it's just a smear of CGI metal hitting other smears of CGI metal!"
Oh, so edgy and observant. Bitch, if TF was as visually confusing as you haters love to say it is why was the franchise such a massive success for so long? Are you saying it took FIVE movies for the audience to suddenly realize they couldn't tell what was happening in front of them?
Film snobs have such contempt for the GA it's hilarious.
Why do more beloved and respected filmmakers praise Bay's eye? Are you, RandomJadedInternetFilmTroll69, suddenly more knowledgeable than Spielberg, Nolan, Scott, and Cameron?
@@nope5657 their points is that they usually don't care about the BBB formula, many people like transformers but can't stomach watching the entire trilogy (fuck the last sequels) because it's a repeated formula
The hate boner is justified especially if you look at what's happening now with james gunn and even zack snyder, all of them do decent stuff but they can't break out of their formula whoch for gunn is misfits and for zack it's a dismantled groupd coming togethet
@@magniwalterbutnotwaltermag1479 no hate boner is justified stfu
@@magniwalterbutnotwaltermag1479 It’s sad because I found no flaw in the whole trilogy except for a couple minor ones
Yeah, I thought 3 was pretty alright. I wasn't going to see it because I felt like 2 was a slap in the face, but did when my friends asked if I wanted to go see it with them. Definitely an improvement.
