This review is on a book by Eleanor Winters called Mastering Copperplate Calligraphy A Step by Step Manual. I wanted to learn copperplate and bought this in the hope all my questions would be answered and they were, I was blown away how easy Eleanor makes it to learn copperplate, simple step by step process. I’ve been working on copperplate from watching TH-cam. But I need something more than that. I’ve been researching calligraphy books, but being on a budget, can’t buy them all right now. Thank you for this review. I needed to hear this!

Picked that book up in a charity shop last month, it is a great book.

I finally got the book this month!
Well done dude the best money spent if you want to learn copperplate, if you are going to make the template in the book then take your time making it. I tried to cut corners and do my version but they were wrong, so doing her template took an hour to do. Good luck 🤞 and I hope you fall in love with CP like I have.

Good to hear it, the book in my view is the best out there for the value. Take your time in making the template, don't cut corners like I did. Get it right first time even if it takes a couple of hours to create it. Good luck on your copperplate journey.
Great review. I agree, it's an excellent book. I've recommended it to many of my copperplate students.
I’ve just discovered the calligraphers bible and that has copperplate in that, but most of the letters are done under 1 stroke, might be giving that style a go soon.
@@williambanks8914 wow, copperplate in 1 stroke! I'm curious. Do you practice Spencerian script? I find it to be faster than copperplate. Both are lovely and quite different pointed pen hands.
@@CalligraphyArts I’ve heard of that and videos on it, never tried it yet. Still trying normal favourite copperplate.

Hi William, can you please advise where you purchased your green notebook with the calligraphy guidelines?
Hi there it’s not a calligraphy notebook it’s a standard everyday notebook from stationary shop. I did testing to find the perfect one that took dip pen ink and chose that one from Rahman’s shop. I drew the guide lines on myself because the gap between the lines equal 1 cm perfect for the 3,2,3 ratio for copperplate. Not perfect but alright for practice. Hope that helps bro.
