    just a tip, you should put new bearings in freezer over night than put in hub they should fall right in, and heat the housing first, great video pal

    I just did all 4 wheel bearings on my rzr s 1000 after watching this and it worked great. The only thing I did differently was putting the bearings in the freezer before I installed them. Thanks for the video.

      Putting the bearings in the freezer makes all the difference in the world you bearly even have to tap them in

    Thanks Man! I am a hobby mechanic and just did the bearings on my 900XP using your method. I know people say, "why not just buy a press for $150". Well, this is a job I will be doing once every few years at most so despite it taking me a few hours I consider it well worth it. Besides, I had fun doing it.

    I learned something from your video .Thank you . I have to replace a hub that broke on my 08 RZR. I think the bearing is still good but I now know how to try this without a press. Thanks for all the good info.

    A lot of people make this operation more difficult than it really is. I had a set of bearing crivers, which accomplish the same thing as you hoolowed out bearing. Thank you for providing ta way not to enrich the dealership. As often as these bearings go out, they are obviously not properly designed, so it pays to know how to change them out. Thanks again. Is there anyway you could change mine....I'll provide the beer!

    put that bearing in the freezer for 2-3 hours or more determine your direction so you know what way it goes in when you remove it from freezer.. use a heat gun and heat the hub up pretty hot 220-250, drop freezing bearing in soon as you pull heat away drop bearing there and it will drop right in, heat it up right next to freezer so it comes out of freezer same motion you remove heat.. use a heat gun or blow dryer so hub is not defaced in any way at all .. drops right in . .

    Good video and informative,especially for people with no press,but it would have been better if you used a race and driver set.A lot of people don’t have the room or want to spend the money on a bearing press, but 20 or 30 bucks spent on a race and driver set would have come in real handy in this situation

    I used to beat them out too, but when I grew a brain me and two buddies wet in together and bought a 20 ton press and press tool set, cost us $70 each and now we do it the easy way, every time we change them for our annual Hatfield McCoy rail ride week, , I thank god we bought it

    Put my bearing housing in front of a shop heater got it to maybe 120 degrees f. Just got hot enough that you don’t want to hold it in your hand. Would have put bearing in a freezer but don’t have one in the shop. But the bearing just dropped in. No hammering or pressing.

    • @RZRGARAGE
      @RZRGARAGE  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you look at the back of the knuckle you will see three small half circle cut outs around it. you could use a punch and a hammer to drive it out working your way around till its out. or you could cut the outer race, carefully then tap it out . thanks for watching and the question. hope you can get it out.

    First, if you put the new bearing in freezer for a bit and heat the hub up about 200 in the oven real quick, that bearing will just about fall in there. Secondly, it seems like you take care of your machine and maintain it like you should. That being said, what's the reasoning for not buying a $100 press from harbor freight to push those right out? I'd be worried about breaking something else trying to save a few bucks

    • @RZRGARAGE
      @RZRGARAGE  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2
