- We added added a home-built chassis brace to the cheetah. Using exact science and state of the art engineering (not really), we designed this $7.00 upgrade. Afterwards, the car seemed to be able to take much more of a beating before breaking!
This is a great video to watch if you plan on buying the cheetah, if you already have the cheetah, or if you just like watching RC cars fly through the air!

Great stuff thank you so much for this!
You’re welcome, man! Thanks so much for watching! Let me know how yours improved once you get the chassis brace done! 👍
Very nice upgrade, clean and effective. I don't do such high jumps with my cheetah but this mod looks pretty tough. Will try.
I didn’t do high jumps before either because I knew it would break on the second one lol
@@DerbyCityRC indeed. The red upgrade you use down there I don't have it yet cause when I saw how often the gold one breaks I bought a dozen and I still have some. :))
@@VesuviusRC I did the same 🤣.
Feel free to use my link in the description when you’re ready!
very nice my friend I put the full strut bar on the centre of mine made life so much better👊👍😊🤟🇬🇧😎
Yes, mine as well!!
Much more run time out of it! ✊🤘✌️😃
Epic vid. 👊😎
Thanks!
This is probably one of my favorites still!
Would you recommend those added aluminium bars also for the hbx 901a to save the chassi?
No I don’t think it’s necessary. That darn cheetah is made out of plastic-y glass and snaps if you breathe on it. Hbx uses some of the best RC plastic. Any crash that breaks a chassis on an hbx is gonna cause issues regardless. 👍👍
Pretty slick upgrade! You beat the crap out of that thing! Love it.
I know! Haha!
More to come, Thanks!
Great videos !!! Your boy is really a natural talent. Bravo !!
Thank you so much!
whats you suspension tuning totorial pls
I actually haven’t tuned it yet, however I believe I’ll be trying 90 or 100 wt fluid in it soon👍👍
i have i problem so yestrday i got cheetah and first run rear dog bone snaped I didnt even jump or enyithing I was just driving around my house.😭Do you have solution for that?? I will try do what you did whit that aluminum braces.
That may have been a weak axle. Mine only broke on jumps, even small jumps. But after I did that aluminum brace, I still have never broken one. And it’s been run many times since I made this video. Lots of stuff around the axles still break, but not the axles themselves lol!
@@DerbyCityRC beacuse i am not going to bash it just drive in forest and that stuff but i cant belive how easily that dog bone broke!? Thit this happend couse of to much power and was to mush torq for dog bone? I realy dont know its my first ever rc car.
It’s possible. It defies Hoyle not have broken that easily. May have also just been a bad one from the factory. I would email the company and let them know a dogbone axle broke so easily.
What size drill bit did you use to tap yours? My screws are M3x.5 and I need a 2.5mm drill bit that I don't have
I purchased an M4 tap that came with the proper size bit, which is a 3.3 mm. You can find metric drill bits on Amazon.
@@DerbyCityRC I ordered a 2.5mm bit. Just finished making the braces. Very happy with how they turned out. Thanks for the video showing how to make them!
You’re welcome, man! Once that’s done she should be able to handle a bit more!!
Yo bro you've got my vote and I did hit that like for the front flip. Great mod, infact its a bloody amazing mod. I'll see about getting a one bar mod done, either way shout-out coming your way. Keep on ripping that thing, I wish you all the best with the channel. Your a funnier, cooler version of Branden harrera and your editing is pretty sick.
Thanks man, I appreciate it!
I thought about just doing one bar, but decided on 2 for the extra strength. 👍
@@DerbyCityRC I think one bar with the thickness would work the same but hey, it's your mod and you call the shots haha.
Lol. I usually go a bit above what’s needed.
@@DerbyCityRC Me too bro, I hope my community post helps you out since you've done us all a solid on this one.
@@mehimrc1314 really appreciate that, glad I can help! 👍🤘😎
Link to get the 2 metal bar.
I bought mine locally and cut down, drilled, and tapped. But these here should work the same. 👍

Good mod... Good for 6s arrrmas too
Very true. The 6s arrmas have the thin walled single rods definitely could use this double solid rod system.👍👍
great jumps!🤜🤛
Thanks my friend! 👍
Love it.... I've had it for 5 years now only thing that broke was the differentials and lower front arm...lol
Love the jumps🤙🤙
Thanks! I’ve broken that front lower arm brace several times, but not an arm itself yet. Another video like this one is in post production now! 👍😎
