This is another great review with a lot of humor thrown in which made me smile. The onboard camera shots were excellent. I am shocked that the car took such a beating and kept on running. Keep up the good work.
Incredible review! Your video on this model really dives deep into its capabilities and whether it lives up to the hype. I found the detailed information and thorough analysis extremely helpful. Thanks for providing such valuable insights!
The sweating bit like you were cutting a wire on a bomb caught me as off-guard as it did crack me up. It's a bit mad that on the next model it still has the same problem of the gyro being set the "wrong" way round, especially on something that has drift tyres included, is basically going to go sideways whenever you drive it regardless of how you want it to drive on pavement. I'd have forgone the rear shock spacer mod as those being made stiffer limits the travel. In a straight line speed test you want rubber on the ground so a softer rear shock with as much travel to absorb a much of it as possible to get maximum traction is what you are after (hence rally cars have high ride height, long suspension with lots of damping as their suspension). Adding the spacer would reduce the amount of available travel and reduce potential absorption of the shock itself. Add to that the car has little ground clearance already means the car will bounce more meaning you want to soak that up as it lands else it'll remain unstable until it hits the next bump and skips agian geadualy getting more and more out of shape. Finally it will lose traction at the rear eventually which is what causes it to more likely skip earlier at higher speeds. After a few skips and the car never settling, it will compound that factor if your suspension is too hard, in the end making it spin and in some cases if the tyres then dig in as it hits 90 degrees to the way its travelling , oin rubber tyres the sidewall can then grab the pavement which will then flip/roll the car as you found. However in all other scenarios and as a drifter i'd def do that spacer mod long-term as you don't need as much throttle to get the same effect to kick the back end out when you want, hence your motor will run cooler for longer and as you aren't driving that fast the car is unlikely to be skipping anyway.) Perhaps leaving them stock on the rubber tyres might have made it go a bit straighter and but without changing the shocks out to have longer travel and/or better damping control (and in some cases if an antiroll bar is there soften that too), but in this case it probably wouldn't have made much of a difference. As i found on my HPI sprint 2 (Im old), had to have two spacers in each rear shock to get it to drift easily so adding one to this, like i did to that initially, probably is not game changing anyway but i doubt adding the spacer did anything that would have helped a speed run on pavement on a car that would already be skipping at high speed in its normal suspension setup. in any way). Not trying to teach you to suck eggs just sharing and my findings fiddling with suspension (also in sim games like assetto corsa and anything else that lets me change things and try them out to see what the effects of those changes are) and why you may have found the car behaving (to a point), like it did and why in the case of a high speed test on pavement you wouldn't necessarily want firmer suspension at the rear by default.
Lol that part at 1:20 I was feeling that yesterday testing 6S and paid for it. Cost: One ESC, one servo, and one radio Awesome review and they both look like solid options!
Cool video and content as usual mate, I have got the hnr panther equivalent here in the UK which is the FTX Stinger. Great cars and handling I found they go in a straight line better with some foam tyres on, I used the team corally attack wheel and tyre combo when using it on 3s and also added some aluminium bits as well 👌 keep the cool videos coming mate 👍
@@DerbyCityRC UDRC done a video with his traxxas corvette on the corally foam tyres and he rated them, when you get a minute check it out. I have got 26mm 37 shore on the front and 30mm 40 shore on the rear 👌
Thanks! They are yes, but still scarce in the US. Easy to get in the UK it seems, and several suppliers form over there will ship to North America, just have a little higher shipping. Some on eBay too. I’ve googled several part numbers and so far have always found them. Also share parts with some HSP models and I think parts distribution will grow since these cars have become rather popular.
Another great video! I got 61mph with my Panther. The main problem seemed to be not enough toe out. Threw on some adjustable turn buckles and boom! Give it a try!
Please advise which buggy is better to take? WlToys 124016 or Rlaarlo AM D-12? Both are brushless and the speed is about the same. Although I haven’t seen them live and I can’t compare the size. WlToys seems to have cheaper spare parts and a lot of them, including upgrades. + WlToys initially have small wheels installed, which gives more options, you can install road wheels for drifting and the speed will be good. Or you can put bigger wheels and the speed will increase, but Rlaarlo initially has quite large wheels and if you put smaller, the speed will drop. But judging by the video on TH-cam, Rlaarlo is better in terms of off-road and bushing. In general, both are interesting, but since I haven’t seen them live, it’s very difficult to decide...
I would choose the rlaarlo. It’s really built off I believe the same chassis as the 124016. But rlaarlo seems to use higher quality parts. The good news too is that the WL toys upgrades will fit. And yes definitely good for off-road!!

@@DerbyCityRC oh, and I’m going to come up with a great name for the skeleton 💀 bro… it might take a while, but it will come to me one while watching one of your videos…
Looking forward to some names!! 😂
👋 Hey . Another good and entertaining vid .👍
Thanks dude!! 😃
hi
👋
Top speed on any RC needs the throttle pinned for at least 5 seconds
Oh ya easily. Just nearly impossible for this car lol
@@DerbyCityRC Yea gtta go to a super smooth area with plenty of runway and I noticed you went thicker on the rear diff and left the front one more open.. if you went 50k in the rear you need to go 75k to 100K in the front.. it'll hold the line better and it will also pull out of the drifts even better
@philthyco1 it was the smoothest parking lot anywhere near me unfortunately lol.
No I put 50k in both diffs, just didn’t show it both times, but yea I think I should have gone thicker. That all makes sense. Trying to learn more on speed runs as I have some projects I want to do. This was more about seeing if their speed claim was reasonable to achieve in stock form, which I’d say it’s not. 😆
@@DerbyCityRC Most aren't lol
@philthyco1 lol very true, just didn’t want a standard review on this one 😂
Nice video!😂 well made bro subbed!
Haha! Thanks dude!!!
Why do you Gotta pick on the skeleton? I’m happy he fought back
FAFO, right?? 😂 the consequences were certainly within reason to my behavior!
Time for some foams and full sent
Almost decided to do that, but this videos goal was to keep it as stock as possible. 😃
@@DerbyCityRC loved it as always
Thanks dude!!
What no ramps ?? Lol
lol right!!?? Definitely been too long since a major bash video (well only been like 3 videos or so 😂). Definitely coming soon!
Wisker biscuit haha idk i prefer furburger
Ahh yes, this was another of my favorites 😂
@@DerbyCityRC 🤣
Can we talk about wtf is a whisperbiscuit?
lol Whisker Biscuit, but it’s one of the dirtiest sounding words that in fact isn’t dirty at all lol. It’s the part that holds your arrow in place on most higher end bows lol A bow & arrow accessory.
867 Nienow Highway
Wow I wish I had 50 cents ! 😢 but with trying to building a Wheelchair ramp for my wife right now if I had two nickels to rub together I'd have to Borrow 9 cents !
Where do you live? If in Kentucky I may be able to help you
There is a way to enter once for free on raffall. I can't remember how you do it, but if you go onto the raffall raffle for this car and try to enter, it does explain. Good luck!
@@wadevallbona5314
Nope no we're near there ! But thank you !
What comment keeps getting deleted?
I actually didn’t know that was an option for everyone. I know its by mail but I figured there was special instructions involved. I’ve seen absolutely nothing on setting it up so I’ll look into it.
Emely Crossroad
Better clato, veritas, necktie lipo that dude back to his Army of Deadsburg before he gets anymore uppity. 😜
I don’t know what any of that means, but it sounds awesome! 😆
@@DerbyCityRC It's a reference to Army of Darkness. 😉
@SaltyOldBaldurian Nice! Been a decade or two since I’ve seen that one. Lol Boom stick!!
