Great video, the church you filmed at 14:00 was called Agia Triada and Aspelia Hotel was owned by the church too I believe. As you said, the pool area was bombed, which explains the holes and the damage at the bar area and the lower floors of the hotel. Also, the new cycle track next to the hotel actually goes through some old tennis courts, where you can still see the rectangular shape of the courts if you look closely.

Hi George, Sue.I am sure you will find loads more interesting bits of history in Famagusta during future visits. Just to let you know the " Lions Club" building you found was a British run building ( UK Service personal etc) there was morning teas etc, a Library, medical center and always lots going on. Basically a much larger version of Cesac at Dhekelia. I had many an ice cream in my youth from their!!.

Hi George and Sue what a fantastic tour really interesting. My dear Cypriot friend Maria who passed away a couple of years ago used to tell me about when her and her family were evacuated from this side. Her father was a high up priest and they owned property plus a Hotel there (her sister now owns a hotel in Paphos) Can't wait for your next visit so very interesting to see this area I think sometime in the future this area will be built up again and become the tourist area it used to be.🤔

Hi George and Sue yet another great video is there a tour to get to the ghost town myself and my wife did the Original Red Bus tour to the walled city but were not allowed to approach the ghost town it would be great to look at doing this when we come back over in June I am thinking of hiring a car as we are starting to venture out to more and more places as love the island and the culture. I have to have my little fix of Cyprus Insight so keep the videos coming as they give me so many ideas and may bump into you when we are over.

George what an amazing video. So interesting. When we was in Protoras September 2021 we were told by our TUI rep that visiting Varosha was not allowed. How wrong were they! We are back again next year but in Ayia Napa so is there any advice for us who would love to visit and look around Varosha. We will also be hiring 2 of those bikes! Next year we are are staying at the Napa Plaza so any look around video with a walk (short) to Napa Square would be much appreciated. Thanks George. All the best Simon & Marion.

Love cyprus history, bit shit what happened in 1974! With regards to the yellow post box, the GR on the front indicates era of king George of england and the newer ones have ER on them for queen Elizabeth our current queen of england, be worth a few quid that one in famagusta!
