1. The greatest to touch the bodybuilding stage 2. Interviewer does a great job at getting more by simply smiling and not speaking (bravo, great interviewer) 3. This should have waaaaay more views !
Same. I was going to bed and only clicked the video to mark it for tomorrow and was so interested that I listened to both parts 1 and 2. It's 3am now, haha.
One of the best BB interviews and interviewees. Mr. Zane shows great intelligence on scale. Immense respect from one MS grad to another MS grad, you represent higher intellect so accurately Mr. Zane and I truly hope one day I get to meet you. Thank you for your contributions.
A very nice, giving modest and serious man. I had the honour of staying at his home for a weekend training seminar many years ago. He was a true inspiration and the most remarkable physique that has never been equalled.
did he have a remarkable phsique as an old man at the time?? because i couldnt find any pictures of him of the past few years (the latest photo of him l saw was when he was 60 or 65)
He’s too good for bodybuilding. Since the early 80’s the following generations have little to offer other than ego. Frank isn’t a bullshitter. This isn’t an act, he lives it and his wife is a wonderful person as well.
This isn't (wasn't) just a man with an exquisite body but with an exquisite mind. An inspiration for all bodybuilders to model as well as everyone else. I stand in awe.
Matthew Januszek is a superb interviewer. Respectful, insightful, and deferential to his subject. Januszek brought out the very best in Frank Zane, Zane's playful, most introspective, and even mystical side. I clicked on these interviews looking for bodybuilding tips and came away with something profound. What a privilege. Thank you.
You did a great job interviewing him. You were very humble, you tried to really see his point of view, and most of all you were honest with him when you didn't understand something he said/how it makes sense. He did a great job as well, BBB club (Big Bodybuilding Brainz)
WoW.. So good to discover today that Frank is amazingly spiritual! One of his working out pic in gym during his competition days wearing a top written "Chakra" on it.. That was quite a hint..
Frank/Escape Fitness. Thank you for this interview. Had a lot of life happenings that threw me off. Everything you mentioned here brought me back when I lived in Vegas and I took important things in my life serious: Bodybuilding, the Bible, The movie/book "The Secret", Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich", "Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding, Strong Work Ethic, going to school and faith. Am over 40 now. Going to start all of it again. The story is different now, but the story is so good that it must go on. Frank going to buy your book on your website.
it is a great interview. i like and learned a lot as a champion,{one time overall winner in middle weight class} bodybuilder .i have been doing since 1975 and have great respect for my legend one and only dear precious Frank Zane brotha. thank you both.
Does Frank Zane give group lessons or conferences out of America? I would love to see him live in Europe one day. Anyway, it is great listening to him in this platform. Thank you for sharing!
Enrique Doc you can speak with him on the phone for a price (it’s a fair price for his wisdom) or if you train, he trains people at his home over I believe it’s a five day period.
Excllent end to the chapter ! I forgot about the movie he's been working on. I met with the IG moderator at the LA Fitexpo earlier this year. Showed me clips of the film already recorded , several pics taken at the beach and many guests that will appear in the film with him. Just waiting for a release date now. Frank is very insightful . .speaks on another plane. I cant think of any other BB today , especially of that era , that is of his caliber. Bravo 👏👏
Really enjoyed this one, looking forward to Mr Zane's film and podcast. I think he his well suited to longer form media which is becoming more popular over the internet. I have found practicing 'mindful meditation' has really helped my workouts and focus in general. Essentially focusing on breathing and being in the present moment.
Great interview, just wonder when will you interview Vic Downs another great bodybuilder who is stil around and is 91 year old, great person. He lives in Toronto Ontario Canada
I love that he says we are all lumens at around 29 minutes in and then a commercial comes on for a product called Lumen. Advertisers are really getting good at this.
LOVE FRANK ZANE’S comments on bodybuilding, winning strategies and healthy living. Man, I hate it when the famous talk spirituality. I had a good laugh when I saw Frank in another video noting how he would ”pray to the universe” for help. Obviously, Zane struggles with the august reality of a personal God, but not a personal universe! The universe is just a meaningless material void incapable of helping anyone. As Frank watched for signs and omens, that was God communicating truth to Zane in the impersonal way that Frank could handle. Frank will probably never be ready for a personal God who makes demands on him. His rigidity is typical of the self-help types who achieve a certain amount of material or athletic success but never find the one thing they were created for. And helping others, also falls short. 3X Mr Olympia...similtaneously, spiritual toddler. Whether one is ready or not, God informs you, early on, that it isn't just about you and your ”thing”. And if you aren't ready for that, you get passed over. Jesus forces everyone to chose, for or against, and there's nothing in the middle. The mantras are laughable, and a poor substitute for an acquired kinship and personal relationship with the mighty God. That avenue however is open only to the humble.
the interviewer is very handsome, i wonder if he's married ?? i think he's a little shy. does zane ever talk about steroids, it wd be interesting for him to say if he thinks the steroids hav had any effects on him today, @26:46 when he mentioned his health, the interviwer should have asked him about all that., his feelings about the guys that are out there now competing,. Does he train young guys coming up in the sport ? I wd hav asked him more about the sport of bodybuilding. Dorian Yates talks about that. alot when he is interviewed.
This guy had a body type that the regular man guy would die for. Big in the right places and small where it counts. He is had the type of body that 99 percent of the women love to sleep with. The bodybuilders today great as they are and wonderful bodies. Well , It's alittle too much to the average guy. Zane is of course above average and a head Turner too. Most of the guys want to have a body like his body. Also it is probably the healthier way to live a regular life. My hat's off to Phil Heath and Brandon Curry too. Amazing bodybuilders.. I love both types of bodybuilders but for my body it is the Zane look. GO PHIL! 2021
So true about pictures many people dont like taking pics but this is how everyone sees you on a daily if u dont like your results change your life style with eating and exercising. Now about God he does exist.
Zane is proof that for success you need luck. To be honest Franco Columbo never had first place shape, and he only won because Arnold was friend with judges at that time. Then when he was injured Zane won first place. Ofc you need to work but at the end of the day if you don't have a luck, you will never achieve anything. Who knows how many amazing BB there is and never achieved anything because lack of luck.
Isn't the Aesthetic Maestro, One of the Great Olympian Bodybuilders of our Universe a TEACHER? High School I think. Some Bodybuilders contemporaries of Frank Zane went overboard in their use of ANABOLIC STEROIDS, 'Mike Mentzer' for example. R.I.P.
I'm not sure what 77 years old is supposed to look like, but to me he now looks like any typical 77 year old - one's who've never lifted a weight or taken a steroid. So you have to assume that he doesn't take steroids anymore, but took plenty when he was younger of course. My guess is that as one gets older, you become more afraid of death, and try to do everything you can trying to hang on to what little life you have left - basically not taking steroids because either your cardiovascular system is pretty hosed already, or your prostate has exploded or soon will, either due to the earlier steroid use, or just old age in general. So, would it make more sense for men to avoid steroids at a younger age, and start taking steroids, hgh, hcg, steroids, etc., at 60+ years old and beyond to try to maintain the look and vitality you had prior to that age? Or will you just have a stroke and die from it cuz your old body can't handle it?! I mean, all men are primarily going to either die from cardiovascular disease or prostate cancer in their old age.
@Gary Snow Is 58 too young? I'm just thinking out loud since I wonder these things for myself as I age, and yes I've done some low dose cycles. One certainly does not think the same at 20 as they do later on. One has to weigh the pro's and con's of trt/steroids/whatever you want to call it, as it may improve quality of life, but it might shorten the quantity due to what it may do to the prostate and cardiovascular - nobody knows for sure. But ask a urologist if they'd take em. Few users mention their PSA scores before, during, after usage. You are likely too young to have even thought about the prostate, PSA scores, prostate biopsies, prostate cancer, BPH, family history, etc. It will get real for you soon enough, steroids or not. As far as Frank, he reminds me a lot of Clint Eastwood in The Mule, and he's 89! And I love his line in the movie, "The only person that wants to live to 100 is a 99 year old!"
That is your opinion he never talks bad about about Jesus Christ whom I love very much but you can't force your view point on others Jesus and Buddha said a lot of the same things... Almost All the Buddhist that I know are extremely peaceful people !!!
The hardfast reality is bodybuilding is a ridiculous facade. All of these Premier bodybuilders from the past and currently are steroid drug monsters. Theres nothing real about these bodies. He's talking bullshit. The majority of bodybuilders sustain terrible injuries, make zero money and suffer adverse side effects from the anabolic steroids. There bodies will not maintain the size when they go off the drugs. My X was a professional bodybuilder who was 105 lbs doing full squats with 300 lbs. She had to have hip replacements at the age of 50. In addition she had a rhino clitoris from doing roids which was disgusting. Lift weights for healthy exercise. If you sustain bad injuries they will ruin your life and can jeopardize your ability to make a living. Nobody talks about the dark side which is the true reality.
Anybody that claims natty and lies about their gear use and also lies saying that natural supplements in high doses have a drug like effect, is just a bad person period. I have zero respect for this man…. Aka The Chemist… btw, that’s a good nickname for a natural bodybuilder.
he's in a class all by himself, a true artist at his craft, the michael angelo of bodybuilding.
Amen
I agree with you 100%.
Frank is a thinking man. Thanks for the interview.
One of my bodybuilding mantras would be " I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". Glad I stumbled on this one Frank is a cool dude.
I love how the interviewer made Frank so at ease. You could tell at the start he was abit short but then he came right out with his philosophies etc
1. The greatest to touch the bodybuilding stage
2. Interviewer does a great job at getting more by simply smiling and not speaking (bravo, great interviewer)
3. This should have waaaaay more views !
I could listen to Zane for days :-) He truly is a great man.
Literally just thought the same thing 5 minutes in...Would be a good Joe Rogan guest and talk about anything.
Same. I was going to bed and only clicked the video to mark it for tomorrow and was so interested that I listened to both parts 1 and 2.
It's 3am now, haha.
He really took bodybuilding to a different level. It is important that this wisdom be shared. Thank you
"Gone without a trace, hoorray!" and then he laughs. ahahah so wise and awesome.
One of the best BB interviews and interviewees. Mr. Zane shows great intelligence on scale. Immense respect from one MS grad to another MS grad, you represent higher intellect so accurately Mr. Zane and I truly hope one day I get to meet you. Thank you for your contributions.
MY FAVORITE BODYBUILDER EVER! Frank Zane the ZANE MASTER!

Frank Zane had always been my favorite, and hearing talking like that, it all makes sense now..
I was not aware that Frank Zane had a podcast. I will certainly be tuning in.
Loved Part 2 of this interview as well.
He’s too good for bodybuilding. Since the early 80’s the following generations have little to offer other than ego. Frank isn’t a bullshitter. This isn’t an act, he lives it and his wife is a wonderful person as well.
Yes he’s actually intelligent unlike today’s bodybuilders.
This isn't (wasn't) just a man with an exquisite body but with an exquisite mind. An inspiration for all bodybuilders to model as well as everyone else. I stand in awe.

You did a great job interviewing him. You were very humble, you tried to really see his point of view, and most of all you were honest with him when you didn't understand something he said/how it makes sense. He did a great job as well, BBB club (Big Bodybuilding Brainz)
Great interview with Frank. Lots of insight
WoW.. So good to discover today that Frank is amazingly spiritual! One of his working out pic in gym during his competition days wearing a top written "Chakra" on it.. That was quite a hint..
Zane has looked much into where success is achieved..."IN THE MIND"...he is a fantastic source for training everything !
Great job with these interviews! Frank Zane has a lot of wise advice!
Frank/Escape Fitness. Thank you for this interview. Had a lot of life happenings that threw me off. Great interview where Frank Zane shares his philosophy of life on mind/body at another level including meditation, spirituality...
In 77' I was 17 and all ZANE in my life because of having a similar body type as his. Felt like it was yesterday.
I met him years ago at the Arnold's fest in Ohio.We talked for 10 minutes about 1981.He was a gentlemen and his knowledge was super.
I remember bringing Frank Zane to SLC,Utah in 1979 for a training seminar! Great World Champion!
Really fascinating interview! I am just a beginner lifter, but this is so fabulous and I am moved by the generosity Frank Zane!
Great thinker and explainer of Nonduality. Thank you Frank. Amazing man!
The man is just a 'Class' apart....There were few, and then there were the 'elite few' !

Zane Experience .. Google it.
Anyone who still thinks bodybuilders are dumb meat heads should sit down and have a conversation with Frank Zane.
Arnold's no idiot either.
Amazing interview! Words of wisdom from the “Great”. If we awesome to spend at least one day at the Zane Experience : )
listening to mr. Zane talk is so soothing. The zen is in the air
Great interview .. Zane is a Man of Wisdom.
Not only is Frank on another level of intelligence, he is on another planet!🧐😉💪🏻😀
My favourite mentor bodybuilder. Had the classic symmetrical proportions without the bloated big baby look. Breathing classic statue.
OMW to lift at sunrise. Frank opens with the bardo and the 3 kayas. Tears filled my eyes. Thank you. 🌾🏋🏼♀️

Very intriguing interview.
Mind blown..
@16:00 I'm crudely paraphrasing, but Nicola Tesla stated that the universe runs on 3's. Great clip!
Oh I want to say bravo and thanks to Zane
For your body to follow, the mind shall lead
Im like him in so many ways. The same understanding. I bet he is nr 7 numerology

6 / 28 / 20 happy 78th birthday Frank Zane .... the living legend of Aesthetics
The chore is to build the body, not to make it harder. Always label positive energy to your body.

Well said, this sort of hogwash theology is what leaves people empty and without God.
I can listen to Frank Zane talk till I go to sleep
There was a lot bs on this one. I had to stop on the God’s stuff. I like part 1. Respect Zane for his bodybuilding legacy!
Too cerebral for this interview. Very interesting and enjoyable, though. Thanks.
This guy talks great stuff..

Some Bodybuilders contemporaries of Frank Zane went overboard in their use of ANABOLIC STEROIDS, 'Mike Mentzer' for example. R.I.P.
At times it's really hard to hear what Zane is saying. He starts loud in the beginning of the sentence, but tails off into a whisper
In Russia, we say “3 is Gods favorite number”. Love Frank Zane.
In German the saying is: "Aller guten Ding sind 3." It is like "all good things come in three" in English.
Zane is talking mystical claptrap
I prefer to hear him talking about the science of bodybuilding
Frank I’ll do your Birth Chart if you like, love your deep philosophical insights.

It's one thing to take steroids as a therapy and another thing to use it for sport.

He was a great bodybuilder in his day ... Now an old man in desperate need of THE TRUTH (John 14:6).

Jesus is the way the truth & the life, nobody had the power over death but one. Jesus is alive, it's a personal relationship not religion ☝
Great interveiw by Frank, but dont like interviewer trying to get Frank to be political! Maga! That Brits own country in shambles .
Didn't keep him on target - less focus... Sad.
Anybody that claims natty and lies about their gear use and also lies saying that natural supplements in high doses have a drug like effect, is just a bad person period. I have zero respect for this man…. Aka The Chemist… btw, that’s a good nickname for a natural bodybuilder.
He doesn't look anything like he did on the show Hart to Hart in 1981.
that was 100 years ago
