India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday arrived in Mauritius for a two-day official visit. He thanked Mauritius Foreign Minister Maneesh Gobin for his warm welcome and stated that he looked forward to productive engagements to take forward the special relationship between the two nations. During the visit, Jaishankar will call on the Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Jugnauth and will hold bilateral meetings with other senior ministers of the Government of Mauritius. In addition, he will engage with other prominent Mauritian leaders. "The visit will provide an opportunity for both sides to comprehensively take stock of various facets of the bilateral relationship," the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement in New Delhi ahead of the minister's visit.

Actual Prime Minister of Mauritius, Pravin Kumar Jugnauth and his late Dad Aneerood Jugnauth were gainst the introduction of the Tramway,known as the Metro Express in Mauritius!!!
In 2015,at the request of Dad Jugnauth ,the son Pravin Jugnauth wrote to Indian Prime Minister Naredra Modi requesting the to cancel the entire Tramway project!!!
Dad and Son stated most vehemently that the tramway was NOT needed in Mauritius!!! Dad favoured a bus lane system. Son had no idea what the Tramway project was all about!
In the electoral campaigning of December 2014, Dad and Son, fought against the setting up this project with rage!
Then suddenly, after assuming power ,Dad and Son changed their mind in a 180-degree U-Turn!
The big money involved in implementing this project suddenly triggered their appetite for the Tramway.
The letter sent to Narendra Modi must be in the latter's office!
Today ,the Son is beating his stomach, and is selfishly claiming ownership of the child that was never his in the first place!
So what’s ur point if u r living there do u find it useful ? Or u prefer someone like China building uneconomical infrastructure like in Sri Lanka that has led their bankruptcy and if not for India bailing out over 4billion dollars Sri Lanka would have lost heirs indepence to china like they took a portion of Sri Lanka in a 99 year lease .
