I have absolutely no idea why TH-cam recommended this review since the last Raiden game I played was Raiden Project on the PS1, but you did a great job. Solid dialogue, well made points, and the review length was long enough to cover the major beats without dragging things out.
I just tried it now and it gave me chills, what an amazing twin stick shooter, and yes they will have to dim the background in an update soon. try: "The Ascent".
@@PixelPulseAdventure It's a very fun game plagued by a persistent crashing issue for a lot of users, including my group of friends. The issue only happens in multiplayer though so give it a whirl for solo play.
Basically Asteroids meets Raiden Fighters. Refreshing gameplay but lack of features are what appalls me. Even Raiden V has more Raiden Fighters features than this. I'm waiting for a new Raiden Fighters entry instead.
With those bonuses with the 3 items in it are you supposed to choose 1, do you get all 3 or is one randomly selected? I'm not sure how it works. Also read something about being able to reroll the bonuses, how do you do that?
When you complete a mission you can loot an item that will give you either 1,3 or 5 items or upgrades of skills. You get all of them. If you level up, you choose one out of three skills.
I just got this in the post and I guess I got what I deserve for not doing more research before buying. I hadn't been expecting a Survivor-like game. That being said, I've played about 30 minutes (a lot for me considering my time constraints these days) and it seems comparable to other games of its genre, with some shmup twists. It's fine, but it doesn't quite belong on a serious shmup collector's shelf. It's a novelty spinoff, and probably more profit-motivated than creative. But like I said, it's fine, not bad. Good review, btw.
One thing that bugs me the most while playing is that the quick dash feature (L1) will make you phase through collectibles as well, very annoying Aside from that game also needs a lot of improvements visuals wise
why did they do this instead of a new Raiden is beyond me, why change a good formula ? Raiden is one of those few franchises that were always good, and now we have this and it feels like acheap spinoff for me.
I’m w raiden fan, a shmup fan in general, the biggest twin stick shooter fan around and I enjoyed vampire survivors a lot when it came out and I absolutely despise this game. I gave it a fair go with about 5 hours logged and it’s just trash. I was hoping for a geometry wars styled twin stick shooter. It also makes no sense that it would cost more than the game it’s ripping off.
I bought it, played it for 20 minutes then deleted it! Terrible game. They should have stuck with the vertical setup and maybe add the ability to "step in and out" of the screen like in some fighting games or something like that - this is just plain awful!
Thanks for sharing. Do you like Twin-Stick-Shooter in general and Raiden Nova is just a bad Twin-Stick-Shooter or do you just like vertical shooter more? I would like to have another vertical Raiden shooter, but I have fun with Nova I have to say.
@@PixelPulseAdventure I don't mind twin-stick games such as the classic Smash TV or even some newer games like Nex Machina, Tesla vs Lovecraft or Enter the Gungeon but Raiden Nova is just a poor example of how this is put into practice - bullet hell shooters like Raiden simply won't work in an open-world type twin-stick shooting set up - they aren't to return to their roots with the vertical set up!
Raiden meets Asteroids meets Vampire Survivors
Yeah, pretty much.
also: Raiden meets HoloCure
Just found your channel--Gold mine :) Keep up the great work
I'm a novice shmup fan but I think I'll pick this up and give it a try
Wow, thank you very much! :)
Nice recommendation from YT. Knew nothing about Raiden Nova, I'm glad I've seen your excellent video.
Thank you! :)
A well spoken and informative review.
Good job, man 😌
Thank you! :)

The Ascent looks intriguing.

@@Oniphire Oh, good to know. I havent used Multiplayer yet.
Let me know what you think!
I love raiden games, I love twin stickers. There is something stopping getting this and I dont know what it is...
Sickkkk stoked for this, I want to dev a twin stick game so bad. This is a great conversion
Sounds great. Let me know when you have something to play around.
This would probably be fine at $15 or under, but they want $30. Vampire Survivors is $5 and original Raiden is $7.99. LOL.

Raiden Fighters Jet is great

This is a mobile game marketed as a 30$ console game

Thanks for saving my money.
You are welcome! :)
Se parece a Beat Hazzard
So can this be played without sticks? My PC doesn't have sticks. Looks like a fun game though.
It can be played with a mouse and keyboard.
Kommst du aus Hessen? 😀 Grüße gehen raus.
Nein, nicht aus Hessen. 😉
is fun game
This game reminds me of survivor io lol
graphics feel.. "cheap"..... sadly .

many of bosses here are rerelease of raiden V.

The new style/gerne, i'd be totally into it. But the game? It disappointed me deeply
Replace the plane with the Apache, it will do a better gameplay than this..
Backward flying plane. :)
Yeah, I agree. Helicopters would have worked much better. That would have been the way to go. 🚁
This looks like a mess. So it's the same non level over and over with a different background where enemies just mindlessly fly towards the player?
Arcade mode has 6 levels with noticeable differences
what is this

This is how you have productive discourse. Thanks for the discussion.
@@fullcircleretrospective9913 Agreed. This game could have been really good. I wonder if it's too late to add-in a vertical shooter gameplay option.
So it's like geometry wars but in boring.
