Guns of Fury looks like Metal Slug as a Metroidvania. Count me in. Iron Meat is another must-buy for me. I've played the demo and it feels just like a worthy successor to Super Contra.

Another Space Opera is something I would dig. It's pixel, it's platformer with "gun, run, dash & slash", it's music is a retro BANGER! Really looking forward to it.

Every year, I keep seeing incredibly cool videos like "10 epic 2D metroidvanias coming out in 2020!", etc. I can tell you something, at least 90% of these games NEVER come out. And among the remaining 10%, most of them are very disappointing. I stopped getting excited a long time ago already. Now I only read the news when a game is officially released. Even early access is a big nope, cos too many of them are abandoned and were easy cash grab.
The year is 2024 , we have ps5, xbox series x, pc , and a rumoured new nintendo system....and playing contra clones,metroid clones , metal slug cllones ..... absolutely originality is gone isnt it ...

Exactly! I fully understand that many indie devs have no other choice than pixel art, but people should also appreciate modern designs like in the new Contra. NES games were part of my childhood, but I would like to look at something else in my life than 2x2 pixels graphics :D Like you said: it's 2024, not 1980s.

When will single stick control switch to twin stick and allow free aiming in any direction? The old control model only discourages you from playing these games...

Shmups is not the same as Run n' Gun or shooter.
Guns of Fury is Castlevania Symphony of the Night with guns. Boss fights look similar and even the map is the same lol.

It's 2024! No more pixel art graphics from Sega Genesis and Super NES era. Thank God for the new Contra game. Modern shoot em up with 2.5D graphics.
