Hanafuda cards arent made of wood; when people say the cards are made from mulberry tree bark, it means that they used that bark to make the pulp for the sheets of paper used for making the card stock. (Look up 'washi' on google if you want to know more)
my favorite memory is going to the love hotel ;) my real favorite memory is tough to pick. getting a nes of my own was nice but i was already playing it at friends houses. i'm just gonna go for the one i always go for and that's a moment playing a link to the past. it was about much more than just the game but the game was a part of it. another favorite was when the 1st issue of nintendo power came out. i read/looked at that so much. i somehow had 3 or 4 copies. i don't recall why.
I have that same set, as well as an original wood set from the time period (not Nintendo sadly). I love looking into the history of some of these modern companies. It's kinda finny how the Game Boy was released in Nintendo 100th year. Happy Birthday Nintendo!
My memory of Nintendo was when I got my first Nintendo Gamecube game, "Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut", but had to get a Gamecube system from my brother, David. Now, these days, I just end up playing it on our Nintendo Wii system.
my favorite nintendo memory is when I get my wii, now I'm about 12 years old and I have my wii from the year it's released, and the wii is my first home console ever!
Don't quote me on this but I think it's pronounced Hah-nah-foo-dah. NOt a big deal though ;). So that's how you play these. My favorite moment... uhhhh I don't know I've just had a joyous Nintendo experience over all. Maybe when I first got into Nintendo watching my brother play his Gamcube,Wii, DS Lite, Gamboy advance SP.
For me a lot: (I'm from Philippines) - 1st Nintendo console I played was Family Computer a.k.a. Famicom, my brother/sister owned it. - 1st Nintendo handheld I played was Game Boy, my godfather owned it. He had Super Mario Land 2, Tetris, and Dr. Mario - 1st Nintendo console I owned was Game Boy Advance, it was a gift from my parents ever since I graduated elementary (Grade 6). - 1st Nintendo console I owned was a Nintendo Switch. I bought it since Dec. 2019 along with SSBU and Pokemon Sword.
Ironically, I tore the box along the perforations to open it because I didn't want to disturb the seal on the bottom. Different priorities I guess? Also I don't know where you got the wood from, but Nintendo cards have always been cardboard. The company founder even reportedly used to mix his own stock using clay and wood pulp.
Nintendo. I love you so much and I will always love you! No matter what will happen. I will love you forever! I will always stay by your side. ❤Nintendo❤ #4ever!
My Nintendo memory comes from Christmas morning 1986. My dad had me open up the last box and inside was the board game tiddly winks. I had no idea my dad had another box hidden and was trolling me. When I opened the real last box I was shocked, I never expected that. I told my parents I loved them and I meant it. Story sounds pretty cliche and boring but I’m crying like a baby over here. Ps it was an NES with Kung fu cart
In a way these and other card games were the game boy color of their time: Both are portable Both have color graphics both can play a variety of games. both have single player and multiplayer games both require very little physical activity both have a battery life of sorts (you are the battery in Hanafuda) both have a musical soundtrack sorta (you are the music in Hanafuda.)
It's not a memory style game at all though. Instead, it's not unlike Gin Rummy. You take cards from the center when you can make a match, strategically, so as to quickly get to a high scoring set. Once that happens, players have to decide to either bank their points and play the next round, or keep playing the current round for a double--points-or-possibly-lose-it-all mechanism to the scoring.
@ Nintendo Collecting He dude nice video I also have the cards as well. But have you noticed lately that club nintendo is lacking in rewards also have you seen the new way they have club nintendo codes now no insert its just printed on the back of the cover.
Plus Nintendo actually makes money off more than just games, They get money from Pokemon merchandise and cards, Nintendo Clothing and Toys, There Hardware and their games.

you can also play a matching game called koi koi using Hanafuda cards
isn't that a Hawaiian game?
@@benderbendingrofriguez3300 Both are very similar, but I think the Hawaiian version has a few differences to Koi Koi. Might want to look into that.

Memory games.. cool. Wonder if this was the inspiration for the matching/memory games in SMB 3?

I heard rumors that Nintendo will go out of business in the next 10 years. I most certainly hope that is false/fake.
I've heard Nintendo has enough money to keep 'em alive until 2035, or something like that. Don't take my word for it.
Actually according to DYK gaming its 2052
NINTENDO SHOULD LIVE FOREVER!!!!!!!!!
Atleast I hope they live forever...
Plus Nintendo actually makes money off more than just games, They get money from Pokemon merchandise and cards, Nintendo Clothing and Toys, There Hardware and their games.
yes, it is fake. why would you believe that?
