Snipes saying "Marvel doesn't want me" really hit me in my Xennial heart like daggers when I first heard about him saying that... I still think the "ash" effects in all 3 Blade movies was absolutely amazing for the time they all came out, especially the first. Blade 2 and Jared Nomak was my absolute jam, and still is to this day. The whole reaper strain plot and powers they had was a nice 2nd step for the franchise, just wished they didn't go full on Dracula for Trinity.
Yup, it was because rthey got Luke Goss. He killed that role and Guillermos horro twist was just what the series needed. Fun fact: Guillermo lioe Luke Goss soo much he put him as the lead villain in Hellboy 2. He was Prince Nuada, that flick is a real good one too. I think the studios ruined Blade 3 by turning it mainstream. It was lame as fuck. They needed to just let Snipes do his thing like John Wick.

At some level, Marvel knew adding OG Blade to Deadpool was going to result in a push for OG Blade. I'm inclined to think this was a screen test for Snipes. I'd say he passed. That is honestly a damn good theory. Adding onto that, i think they might be considering dropping Mahershala Ali and bringing Wesley Snipes back in as Blade if that is true. I honestly don't think the MCU Blade movie is going to happen otherwise.
They definitely are. Just seeing Black Martial Artists as superheroes was awesome! Both actors added their own depth to the characters that made the movies memorable.

Yes we talk about trinity. It was a good movie. Problem was that the two first ones were soooo much better. But the main badguy in trinity was perhaps the best. Either him or Deacon Frost. Dominic Purcell nailed the role as Dracula.
It's pretty easy to do this -- blade gets sent to the MCU after events of D&W, we find out that he's dying and it's just a matter of time. Use whatever BS you want as an excuse like it's because it's not his universe, serum not working, whatever floats your boat. Through the movie we find he's trying to track down and rescue someone and he only says that it's something he has to do before he dies. Eventually after many battles he rescues the person and it's revealed it's 'the new blade' who was captured and they had plans to kill him and use his body to create Daywalkers. He uses his last serum on Blade to ensure he survives and before he dies he let's him know "If this world is anything like mine you'll need help for what's coming...find Dr. Strange and tell him...before the next winter solstice...gather the Midnight Suns..." - he hands him his sword and dies...next MCU Blade movie picks up from there.

I was a huge Marvel fan, saw all 3 Blade movies and never made the connection that he was part of the Marvel Universe proper until many years later. And before anyone says "But comics!" or "But Marvel logo!" let me remind you that Marvel also made comics for Transformers and G.I. Joe too, but they are not technically part of the Marvel Universe either.
I think Wesley has the most iconic line in the movie! "There's only one Blade, there's only ever been one Blade"! Bring Blade/Wesley back, but don't kill him off. That movie was the funniest movie I've watched since DP1 & 2! Disney's always trying to skate uphill!

To save the MCU you have to put a few things right. 1. Stop portraying Thor as a brainless baffoon. Yes he is a hothead. But he is very inteligent. But in MCU he is portrayed as if he is mentally retarded, and made into a comedic relief, the likes of Jar Jar Binks. And please, I realise that Rune King Thor would be impossible in the MCU. He alone could have taken out Thanos in a milisecond. But they have gone too far in nerfing Thor. 2. Bring Iron Man back, he is the backbone of the MCU 3. bring Wolverine back for good. I don't care how, but Wolverine must return. Perhaps Old Man Wolverine? 4. Spiderman must become a bit weaker, so that he uses his brilliant mind more. And that is just what I can think of at the moment. There is much more wrong with MCU at the moment.
The most important Superhero Movies: 1. Superman the Movie-1978 2. Batman-1989 3. Blade-1998 4. Spider-Man-2002 5. Iron Man-2008 If it weren't for these 5, the MCU wouldn't be as iconic as it is right now.
I remember the blade television series, I thought it could’ve been better and I couldn’t get over the fact the actor who played Blade was named Sticky Fingaz
I enjoyed the tv series. I was disappointed when it was canceled. I thought Sticky Fingaz did a pretty good job in the role. Obviously Snipes would have been better. But it is what it is.
People forget that blade kicked off the superhero genre but they also forget that he kicked off the vampire genre with true blood and the twilight saga et cetera
Blade kicked off the Marvel superhero movie. The Richard Donner's Superman and Tim Burton's Batman in '79 and '89 were HUGE!!!! There were other Superhero movies in the 80's and 90's also, like Dick Tracy, The Phantom, The Shadow, Buckaroo Banzai and I'd even count Remo Williams.
Also, there were TONS of other highly popular vampire movies before Blade, like The Lost Boys, Bram Stoker's Dracula, From Dusk Till Dawn and Near Dark. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED Blade, but that claim was a little too much for even me!!!😂
Blade being part of the Knull arc would be epic but that stand alone Blade movie send-off would probably have his daughter Brielle Brooks aka Bloodline to continue the vampire hunter legacy

A New Blade movie with Wesley would be Huge. Nostalgia is what separates the million dollor movies from the Billion dollar movies. Ask Tobey, andrew and hugh! And had DC not been so Stupid and brought Keaton back for the flash instead of doing a Batman beyond they'd of had a billion dollor blockbuster too. JMO
Wesley Snipes was "grumpy" on the Blade III set for more reasons than just being in character. There was a lot of reported studio interference during the making of that movie(last minute script rewrites, budget cuts, etc.) that po'd Snipes because he was a credited producer and those kind of decisions were supposed to be run by him first. The studio literally tried to make him a side character in his own movie so that's why he had such antagonistic relationship with Ryan Reynolds at the time. Regarding the Mahershala Ali Blade movie, I say scrape it. It's cursed. Bring back Snipes as the main Blade and give us a Midnight Sons movie. After Secret Wars, Marvel can recast the Blade character with a much younger actor and start fresh.

I think he should be the "Whistler" type character in the Mahershala Ali Blade movie. Put them both in it and maybe make Ali the original Blades son or something to continue the bloodline. Give him some bad ass scenes and either keep him as a mentor character or give him a send off at some point in the film. Maybe a sacrifice or something for Ali Blade.
I think Ryan reynolds should be the creative director for all adult marvel content. Funny enough, most of those characters interact anyway and would be a great way to split the IP up in a way that fans would still enjoy.
I would love it if they continued with the Mahershala Ali blade but based it in the wesley snipe movie universe. Wesley Snipes can be like a Abraham Whistler mentor for Mahershala Ali.

Writer David Goyer - Director of Blade Trinity (who I like VERY much but still) was a first time director and tried to literally "replace" Blade in his own film with a team of Vampire Hunters including Abigail Whistler and Hannibal King. Goyer upped all the campiness and silly jokes and edited the hell out of that script. THIS was the entire source of the drama on Blade 3. Goyer and Snipes had beef.
I recently watched the Blade trilogy for the first time with some friends. They're great. Don't really care for a new movie but would love to see the character used more. Loved seeing him in Deadpool 3 and it would be absolutely insane if Ryan just 'sniped' in a Blade movie without Mahershala Ali.
❤❤There was never no real problems between Ryan Reynolds and Wesley Snipes. Wesley Snipes did not like the direction that David has Goyer was going and the fact that he came on Director and producer. David Goyer displayed that he only cared about the character more than the actor in Blade two,
I would love to see them do a "generation hand-off" story. Where "Blade" is a name used to strike fear into the hearts of vampires but the actual Daywalker behind the name changes over centuries. Kind of Dread Pirate Roberts style. So Snipes-Blade trains and teaches and passes the torch to Ali-Blade but to the vampires they're hunting it's just more evidence of how unkillable "Blade" is.
My recollection of the Blade 3 set was... Wes was smoking a ton of ganja and wasn't communicating w the director except by post-it notes. Essentially after the success of Blade 1 and 2, he was producer and wanted to pick the director and script, and was completely shot down and disrespected. David Goyer pushed hard to direct and really is a writer, not a director, and I think Wesley wanted nothing to do with him and took the paycheck. I know the rest of the cast were on good terms with Goyer, especially Patton Oswald since I think they're both still good friends. It boils down to Wesley was just pissed off, for good reason I think, but let it affect his set interaction. The movie is still trash and I doubt him being a good sport would have improved it. I'm sure he'll admit to making some very questionable decision around that time so I really doubt Ryan did anything to piss him off. I don't think Goyer has directed again. Around that time period pretty much David Goyer and Zak Penn wrote ALL the superhero movies, Penn even has a credit for the first Avengers since he wrote a draft. It was a weird time for superhero movies. Hopefully Ryan gets Wesley a proper finale for Blade since I think the first two are better than a lot of recent MCU stuff.
The hard part in giving Wesley Snipes a “Logan” style send off is giving him a foe worthy enough to defeat but at the cost of his own life. I mean he defeated Deacon Frost’s La Magra “Blood God”, a super mutant vampire The Reaper, and finally Dracula himself! Lilith and her Lilin may be the only worthy opponents at this point. They could introduce Blackout, Skinner, Creed, Pilgrim, Nakota, and Xarus. Varnae as the First Vampire may be the only other supernatural villain for Blade to heroically die in battle against.
I agree with another person's comment, a new Wesley's Blade would smash sales through the box office. Come on Mr Feige , its not like you haven't deviated from plans before.
I can't see Marvel doing this, but I want both. I want a Wesley Snipes Blade movie in the original style of the trilogy. I'm not picky, it can be a reboot, it can be a proper 4th installment, it can be Logan style. Don't care; will watch. I also want a Mahershala Ali Blade movie that fits into the MCU, even the weird/magical bits of the MCU. But, even in the vast multiverse, I can't see Marvel giving us both. But if we're only getting one Blade, it has to be Wesley Snipes. I thought maybe he was done being Blade and that's why they hired Mahershala Ali, but seeing Snipes in Deadpool & Wolverine had me clapping like a seal. I don't think I'm alone on this. I hope Marvel at least realized Snipes;' appearance was a winner. I think I just really want a modern Marvel Blade movie to watch. I was SO excited when Mahershala Ali's Blade was announced and I keep being disappointed that there's no movement on this movie getting actually made.
I actually have a more interesting idea for a blade video... Blade finds some ancient vampire tech that he doesnt quite understand ends up accidentally stepping through it which takes him back in time to the roman era. somehow gets captured and ends up fighting in the arena as an unbeatable fighter and manages to win then escape only to find out that ceasar never died but instead had actually become the leader of a vampire group that led to romes true destruction and all the while trying to find his way back to the same tech to make his way back finds another just like himself who he ends up getting into a relationship with and they both begin a long road to fighting cesar and his minions. And just to boost the fun a little he also finds some ancient vampire weaponry like a blade that is on the end of a chain "god of war kratos style". What makes this film good the fact that the vampires and people he has to fight are way stronger than him but slightly less skilled with weapons and intelligence.
I’m down for this. Seeing WS as Blade again was great. Amazing how he can still do it! I know the man was athletic and had a martial arts background, but Father Time seems to not have impacted him as much as I would expect.
If I were Mahershala Ali, I’d def ease out of that Blade movie. Marvel has been dropping deuce after deuce for years, and that movie already has a stench of failure all over it. To top it off, the fans just saw a successful OG Blade, and want more. Dude has two Oscars…, he should just escape while his reputation is still untarnished.
I watched the TV series a few years ago, and I thought it was quite good. I would love to see Wesley Snipes come back, and if Reynolds is producing, it bodes well for the project. Everything he touches turns to gold right now. It would be cool to get Guillermo del Toro back. If Marvel could get Snipes, Reynolds, and del Toro working together on the same page, they'd have another billion dollar movie. Snipes has that same kind of I'm-f**king-nuts-you-need-to-watch-me-vibe that RDJ has. Continuity, schmontinuity,, a one off would be great. One of the best lessons that comic books have to teach is that sometimes you just have to do cool **** and let someone else worry about how it fits into everything else. All of the Secret Wars and Crisis on Infinite Earths stuff came out of the continuities getting so convoluted that Marvel and DC had to find a way to retcon them. _I think_ that del Torro had so many ideas after the 2nd Blade movie that that is how he and Chuck Hogan ended up doing The Strain. Snipes, del Torro, Reynolds, those guys can make a billion dollar movie.
Mahershala Ali should become the original blades protégé then Wesley Snipes dies or kills himself because he's just so tired saying goodbye to the 13:50 original character leaving the protégé grieving and feeling like Wesley Snipes left some things out then Mahershala find a way to add some unknown abilities adding that to training he received from Wesley
Looks like you're the kind of guy who can't read the room. When I was in the theater, everyone was excited and cheering to see the original Wesley Snipes' Blade back. One thing’s for sure-I’m not an idiot, and I’m starting to wonder if Disney will go the route you’re referring to. If that’s the case, get ready for another downward spiral of movie flops at the box office. Disney might finally get the chance to gloat, saying the audience won’t pay to see this type of movie, but the real reason would be that it’s not a Wesley Snipes Blade movie-it’s a Mahershala Ali Blade movie
This is pretty cool. I think it would be cool to have a short series for him. Maybe showing what he has been up to for all these years, and even leading up to Deadpool Wolverine, and possibly having him going off on his own to phase out to the new Blade.
Honestly, I have no idea how to excuse bringing Snipes' Blade back, save for collapsing all the universes into one. He could even get a noble death scene, and ask Mahershala Ali's Blade to take over for him. A proper, ordained changing of the guards. However they make that happen, I just hope they can do it... The first two Blade movies were amazing! Come at me! The third was a fun watch and all, but not amazing. I really really hope they bring Blade back. Gambit too! Gambit is one of my absolute favorites of the X-Men. Ever since I was child.
Loved Blade when it first came out, it was great to see Wesley Snipes' daywalker cameo in the What we do in Shadows tv series, recommended watch. Never thought we would get a full blown action sequence from him again.
Never knew Blade was part of the MCU, but man... I loved them films. It was so cool, 😎 and the tune in the club was UNBELIEVABLE... if you wanted to know what it was... It was called "Confusion" by New Order... That really set the whole kick 🦶 ass scene like we've never seen before, and I just lapped it up hard as the movie 🍿🎥 entertained.
I remember in one of the blade movies that there was a love interest and this can bring into the movies an interesting concept as the son of blade where the Father and Son can exist in different movies and at times maybe do combination of both actors in one movie.
The way the crowds reacted to Blade showing up... they know they have Lightning in a Bottle. Even if its just cameos in various other movies, most of us are super stoked to see Snipes back in the Blade role ;)

@@avatardk30 Since you're so young you wouldn't know this. But Blade was never marketed as a superhero movie. It was a vampire movie. I was a huge Marvel fan, saw all 3 Blade movies and never made the connection that he was part of the Marvel Universe proper until many years later.
And before anyone says "But comics!" or "But Marvel logo!" let me remind you that Marvel also made comics for Transformers and G.I. Joe too, but they are not technically part of the Marvel Universe either.

To save the MCU you have to put a few things right.
1. Stop portraying Thor as a brainless baffoon. Yes he is a hothead. But he is very inteligent. But in MCU he is portrayed as if he is mentally retarded, and made into a comedic relief, the likes of Jar Jar Binks. And please, I realise that Rune King Thor would be impossible in the MCU. He alone could have taken out Thanos in a milisecond. But they have gone too far in nerfing Thor.
2. Bring Iron Man back, he is the backbone of the MCU
3. bring Wolverine back for good. I don't care how, but Wolverine must return. Perhaps Old Man Wolverine?
4. Spiderman must become a bit weaker, so that he uses his brilliant mind more.
And that is just what I can think of at the moment. There is much more wrong with MCU at the moment.

Yeah, it was not good. He tried to channel Snipes’ Blade, but the series itself just wasn’t good.
Sticky Fingaz was from the rap group Onyx. He later turned actor.
I enjoyed the tv series. I was disappointed when it was canceled. I thought Sticky Fingaz did a pretty good job in the role. Obviously Snipes would have been better. But it is what it is.

People forget that blade kicked off the superhero genre but they also forget that he kicked off the vampire genre with true blood and the twilight saga et cetera
Blade kicked off the Marvel superhero movie. The Richard Donner's Superman and Tim Burton's Batman in '79 and '89 were HUGE!!!! There were other Superhero movies in the 80's and 90's also, like Dick Tracy, The Phantom, The Shadow, Buckaroo Banzai and I'd even count Remo Williams.
Also, there were TONS of other highly popular vampire movies before Blade, like The Lost Boys, Bram Stoker's Dracula, From Dusk Till Dawn and Near Dark. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED Blade, but that claim was a little too much for even me!!!😂

A New Blade movie with Wesley would be Huge. Nostalgia is what separates the million dollor movies from the Billion dollar movies. Ask Tobey, andrew and hugh! Wesley Snipes was "grumpy" on the Blade III set for more reasons than just being in character. There was a lot of reported studio interference during the making of that movie(last minute script rewrites, budget cuts, etc.) that po'd Snipes because he was a credited producer and those kind of decisions were supposed to be run by him first. The studio literally tried to make him a side character in his own movie so that's why he had such antagonistic relationship with Ryan Reynolds at the time. Regarding the Mahershala Ali Blade movie, I say scrape it. It's cursed. Bring back Snipes as the main Blade and give us a Midnight Sons movie. After Secret Wars, Marvel can recast the Blade character with a much younger actor and start fresh.

I think he should be the "Whistler" type character in the Mahershala Ali Blade movie. Put them both in it and maybe make Ali the original Blades son or something to continue the bloodline. Give him some bad ass scenes and either keep him as a mentor character or give him a send off at some point in the film. Maybe a sacrifice or something for Ali Blade.

Writer David Goyer - Director of Blade Trinity (who I like VERY much but still) was a first time director and tried to literally "replace" Blade in his own film with a team of Vampire Hunters including Abigail Whistler and Hannibal King.
Goyer upped all the campiness and silly jokes and edited the hell out of that script.
THIS was the entire source of the drama on Blade 3. Goyer and Snipes had beef.

I would love to see them do a "generation hand-off" story. Where "Blade" is a name used to strike fear into the hearts of vampires but the actual Daywalker behind the name changes over centuries. Kind of Dread Pirate Roberts style. So Snipes-Blade trains and teaches and passes the torch to Ali-Blade but to the vampires they're hunting it's just more evidence of how unkillable "Blade" is.

My recollection of the Blade 3 set was... Wes was smoking a ton of ganja and wasn't communicating w the director except by post-it notes. Essentially after the success of Blade 1 and 2, he was producer and wanted to pick the director and script, and was completely shot down and disrespected. David Goyer pushed hard to direct and really is a writer, not a director, and I think Wesley wanted nothing to do with him and took the paycheck. I know the rest of the cast were on good terms with Goyer, especially Patton Oswald since I think they're both still good friends. It boils down to Wesley was just pissed off, for good reason I think, but let it affect his set interaction. The movie is still trash and I doubt him being a good sport would have improved it. I'm sure he'll admit to making some very questionable decision around that time so I really doubt Ryan did anything to piss him off. I don't think Goyer has directed again. Around that time period pretty much David Goyer and Zak Penn wrote ALL the superhero movies, Penn even has a credit for the first Avengers since he wrote a draft. It was a weird time for superhero movies. Hopefully Ryan gets Wesley a proper finale for Blade since I think the first two are better than a lot of recent MCU stuff.
The hard part in giving Wesley Snipes a “Logan” style send off is giving him a foe worthy enough to defeat but at the cost of his own life. I mean he defeated Deacon Frost’s La Magra “Blood God”, a super mutant vampire The Reaper, and finally Dracula himself! Lilith and her Lilin may be the only worthy opponents at this point. They could introduce Blackout, Skinner, Creed, Pilgrim, Nakota, and Xarus. Varnae as the First Vampire may be the only other supernatural villain for Blade to heroically die in battle against.

I can't see Marvel doing this, but I want both. I want a Wesley Snipes Blade movie in the original style of the trilogy. I'm not picky, it can be a reboot, it can be a proper 4th installment, it can be Logan style. Don't care; will watch. I also want a Mahershala Ali Blade movie that fits into the MCU, even the weird/magical bits of the MCU. But, even in the vast multiverse, I can't see Marvel giving us both.
But if we're only getting one Blade, it has to be Wesley Snipes. I thought maybe he was done being Blade and that's why they hired Mahershala Ali, but seeing Snipes in Deadpool & Wolverine had me clapping like a seal. I don't think I'm alone on this. I actually have a more interesting idea for a blade video... Blade finds some ancient vampire tech that he doesnt quite understand ends up accidentally stepping through it which takes him back in time to the roman era. somehow gets captured and ends up fighting in the arena as an unbeatable fighter and manages to win then escape only to find out that ceasar never died but instead had actually become the leader of a vampire group that led to romes true destruction and all the while trying to find his way back to the same tech to make his way back finds another just like himself who he ends up getting into a relationship with and they both begin a long road to fighting cesar and his minions. And just to boost the fun a little he also finds some ancient vampire weaponry like a blade that is on the end of a chain "god of war kratos style". What makes this film good the fact that the vampires and people he has to fight are way stronger than him but slightly less skilled with weapons and intelligence.
Can they get Guillermo Del Toro to direct?

I’m down for this. Seeing WS as Blade again was great. Amazing how he can still do it! I know the man was athletic and had a martial arts background, but Father Time seems to not have impacted him as much as I would expect.
If I were Mahershala Ali, I’d def ease out of that Blade movie. Marvel has been dropping deuce after deuce for years, and that movie already has a stench of failure all over it. To top it off, the fans just saw a successful OG Blade, and want more.

I watched the TV series a few years ago, and I thought it was quite good. I would love to see Wesley Snipes come back, and if Reynolds is producing, it bodes well for the project. Everything he touches turns to gold right now. It would be cool to get Guillermo del Toro back. If Marvel could get Snipes, Reynolds, and del Toro working together on the same page, they'd have another billion dollar movie. Snipes has that same kind of I'm-f**king-nuts-you-need-to-watch-me-vibe that RDJ has.
Continuity, schmontinuity,, a one off would be great. One of the best lessons that comic books have to teach is that sometimes you just have to do cool **** and let someone else worry about how it fits into everything else. All of the Secret Wars and Crisis on Infinite Earths stuff came out of the continuities getting so convoluted that Marvel and DC had to find a way to retcon them.
_I think_ that del Torro had so many ideas after the 2nd Blade movie that that is how he and Chuck Hogan ended up doing The Strain. Snipes, del Torro, Reynolds, those guys can make a billion dollar movie.

This is pretty cool. I think it would be cool to have a short series for him. Maybe showing what he has been up to for all these years, and even leading up to Deadpool Wolverine, and possibly having him going off on his own to phase out to the new Blade.
Honestly, I have no idea how to excuse bringing Snipes' Blade back, save for collapsing all the universes into one. He could even get a noble death scene, and ask Mahershala Ali's Blade to take over for him. A proper, ordained changing of the guards.

The first two Blade movies were amazing! Come at me! The third was a fun watch and all, but not amazing. I really really hope they bring Blade back. Gambit too! Gambit is one of my absolute favorites of the X-Men. Ever since I was child.

Loved Blade when it first came out, it was great to see Wesley Snipes' daywalker cameo in the What we do in Shadows tv series, recommended watch. Never thought we would get a full blown action sequence from him again.
Never knew Blade was part of the MCU, but man... I loved them films. It was so cool, 😎 and the tune in the club was UNBELIEVABLE... if you wanted to know what it was... It was called "Confusion" by New Order... That really set the whole kick 🦶 ass scene like we've never seen before, and I just lapped it up hard as the movie 🍿🎥 entertained.
Since you asked, no I have not watched the Spike TV series. I do, however, have *TWO* different boxed sets of it from blind box rummage sales.

I remember in one of the blade movies that there was a love interest and this can bring into the movies an interesting concept as the son of blade where the Father and Son can exist in different movies and at times maybe do combination of both actors in one movie.
