Been using the WHS since inception and I’ve only had one PCC adjustment due to the poor conditions. In Scotland where I play the weather can be extremely difficult to contend with for a large part of the season. How is this going to be addressed from next year?
So the new handicap system did away with ESC but you still have to write down your actual score for each hole during a round, right? If I make a 9 during a round I still have to use that for my gross score. It only gets adjusted when going into ghin. I don't get to write a 7 on my scorecard.
In nz we have had nine hole scores count since the whs system came about here
Does not the USGA just want members to collect dues and charge you for each time you put in more data and get an “official” handicap assigned?
Never understood what the issue is with people trying to lower a handicap, if you only put in good rounds to lower your handicap its only going to effect that person if they don't perform to it. the people you want to worry about are the ones who don't put rounds in to have a high handicap to benefit their given strokes in a match.
Go golf. Keep your score. Try to improve. What do you need a handicap for?

Agree. Golf is an individual game. You play against yourself. You play against those course. You play against the conditions.
No one cares about your score. When you enjoy your time around the course. You either have enjoyed yourself or not. Sometimes it’s the whole score on 9 or 18 holes. Sometimes it’s a couple of particular holes. Sometimes it’s a string of shots. And sometimes it’s just a shot or two that put a smile on your face. The handicap really doesn’t make much difference.

Should never have bn changed,ruined golf now. No low handicapper has a chance as set yo for high handicaps.whs brought in to change a system tht worked fine 😳
