- We finally made it to the Philippines in the last video. We explored the city for a few days before heading over to Cebu island.
From here we went snorkelling in Moalboal to try and see the famous sardine run. This built up our appetite so Andrew and good friend Chili set off to try the elusive Balut.
The next day we set off to the incredible Binalayan hidden falls where Andrew went cliff jumping for the first time in his life.

Originally from the Wirral, North West England we got married in 2012. After a few trips abroad we caught the #travel bug. In 2019 after 6 weeks in Japan we decided we were going to quit our jobs and take some time out to travel full time. After many delays due to the pandemic, in 2021 our dream finally came true and in November we set off on our journey.

The Balut kings 😂😂. I ate so much more after that 1st one I was hooked , great watching these Filipino vlogs and reminiscing and reminding me how the rain followed me everywhere 😂😂
Do you remember the rain as we rode the bikes all the way back from the falls. 2 hours on wet scooters 🤣🤣🤣

We couldn't tell you. We got a bus back up to cebu City.
Then a ferry from cebu city to Tagbilaran which is right next to Panglao 😊

ha! I knew you'd like it. I was born in PI raised in California so I ate balut when I was a little boy and it was dee lish. But now as an old fart I don't think I can get myself to eat it again ha ha.

Yes, eating balut (18 days-old) is often associated with 'fertilized chick embryo' which is true but the taste is not gross at all. It tastes just like normal egg because the embryo has no developed internal parts yet. Those who dislike it have prejudicial thoughts about it, so they tend to let their mind rule over matter.
Andrew didn't mind the taste. it was not as bad as he was expecting :)
