Similar blades are used for woodblock / linoleum cutting. the handles are wooden, quite hefty at the end, and fit well in your palm. The takeup is more like a standard writing nib, semi-circular.
I've used those in the past, well tried anyway. It was a very cheap set though, so probably useless even for the intended purpose, never mind modelling lol
@@JenesisDesignsandModelcraft The penholder grips make the fixture of the blade very much more of a shaky affair, that's true. They work ok in soft linoleum.
Handles were already sold out when I went to go get some! Advent Calendars in the US are similarly based, with the exception that there can be a whole lot of other "things" put in them other than chocolate. I actually bought my son one that held lego parts!
I am terrible for buying more tools than i need. While i have other brands of chisel i agree with you that the mission models set up has never been bettered.
Loving those blades Jen! 👌 Makes it so much easier to cut away plastic on a curved surface. Your builds are looking superb! Can't wait to see updates on them. And the P-39 advent build is wicked! 😈 Something to really look forward to (apart from Christmas!) in the run up to the holidays. 😁 Take care and see you on the channel soon. 😊👍
As always, really nice to see the new projects and the new tools. I am very interested on the Advent P-39 build. Great guys Drewe and Jon at The Interesting Modelling Co. Great videos as well, actually I learned about you through your how-to videos at IMC some years ago...
I was eagerly awaiting that P-39 but the reviews showed it to be a dog's breakfast, mostly around the nose. You do such sharp builds, I'll be very interested to see how you get on with it. Might have a go if it doesn't take too much to make it a proper, clean finished model.
Thanks for the tip about the blades, I'll order some of those. Very interested to watch you build the P-39. I want to get the recon boxing, but instrested to see how you get on with the reported fit issues with this kit.
Thanks for the blade idea !
Looking forward to the P-39N build! A truly interesting aircraft. Thanks.
Gouge blade ehh? I’m going to take a look at one, looks useful for getting into all sorts of nooks and crannies on a model. Thanks. 🙂

That's where I started doing videos, when Jon started that modellers network page during Covid - it's all his fault!
@@JenesisDesignsandModelcraft I'm glad you decided to do your own videos. 🙂

This is a coincidence as I have just bought the Arma Hobby P-39 Q.

Had to laugh. Sucker for tools. Tafs have sold out of house blade handles and sample sets. I wonder why? 😂😂😂
I expect they are wondering why too!
