    Awesome stuff, makes it so easy to understand. Is there a video on how to maintain the 4C suspension system to give it a better life span?

    Excellent explanation! I’ve always wondered what that “sport chassis mode” does. Now I know.

    Some feedback: Put the first 2 min on the video in the end. If I came to this video without knowing who you guys are, I would most likely have skipped the first 2 min or just clicked of the video. This would make the video flow better imo.

    I bought S60 2008 with 4C suspension. That's crazy how hard suspension can be 😲. I prefer Comfort on highways but when i want to go faster on corners i turn on sport mode ✌🏻

    Thanks for the great video explaining how the Four C system controls the damping in the shocks. However, I think that this is also integrated with other components to create the full Four C experience. I would love to know what those other components are and how they all work together.
    I want to know as I have been told that I can only replace the springs on my XC70 with OE parts as otherwise, they will mess up the Four C system, so I would like to understand that.

    The valve isn't just either open or closed but cycles quickly depending on road conditions and the chassis setting selected.

    • @dh4521
      @dh4521 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I wondered (suspected) that it would be PWM controlled and modulated with almost infinite variations of dampening.
      Good video nonetheless.

    Great video I Love how the 4C system works.
    Having owned two 2012 S60's one with and without the 4C system it makes hell of a difference to the chassis dynamics.
    I personally love it in advanced mode so much fun in the twisties 😂.

    • @fmccloud
      @fmccloud 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      So maybe this is because I drive mainly on straight highways, but I don't fell much of a difference on my 2011 S60. Can you feel the diffence of everymode? I just repaced my 4C system last month and I can bearly tell a difference and I'm not sure if that I'm just getting a pleacbo effect.

    • @johno9507
      @johno9507 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Alex Rolli.
      I have a 2004 S60R and there is a huge difference between the three modes.
      Most of the time I use comfort cause Aussie roads are crap, but when I fling it through the twisties hitting sport or advanced really stiffens the car up, but can be really harsh over bumps.
      Advanced also puts the gearbox in sport mode and changes the sensitivity of the accelerator pedal.

    • @fmccloud
      @fmccloud 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      They had to be broken in, it seems, because now I can tell the difference.

    • @Kimii99

      @@johno9507 Does really gearbox changes when in advanced mode?

    • @johno9507
      @johno9507 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Kimii99
      Yes with the automatic transmission in Advanced mode it changes how firmly the gearbox changes gear and it also shifts gear at higher rpm, as well as holding gears while cornering rapidly.
      And when you select 'manual mode' the torque converter remains locked and the car drives and feels more like a manual gearbox vehicle. 🙂🇦🇺

    I have a 2011 Volvo s60T6AWD and I want to install coilovers but what is stopping me is that I don't want my dash go crazy on notifying me about the service required!. Can I just cut out the the 4C tube and keep that piece along with the cable connected onto the car ? Or will it still show on my dash that there is something wrong ?

    Hello thank you so much for the awesome video ! indoor opinion what would be the safest mode to put the cars suspension in for the safest operation and the least amount of wear on the struts. Don't get me wrong I am of the belief the belief that if you don't use it you lose it so I enjoy the car and with 255k miles on it im damn proud of my rare bird . for context its an 06 p2R AT in titanium grey metallic with the nordcapp interior

    You 100% sure the little plunger with 0-ring is sliding in and out between settings? Looks to me like that's a fixed component, and the flow is controlled through the other holes around the circumference.

    • @D-man9000
      @D-man9000 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Saying that it's stuck in Sport Mode isn't accurate. It's in a static state, non-adjusting. Sport still adjusts/reacts
      Advanced, on the other hand, doesn't adjust at all. The rest of the 4C system does(brakes, traction, AWD) but not the struts.

    • @stevedodd7883

      When mine worked, I was always in advanced, now I just use a KW coilover kit ;-)

      David Bello your shit is broken the. Advanced is ridiculously bumpy. Comfort is very soft and floaty, like a Cadillac. Sport is in the middle. The differences between each setting are very obvious. If you can’t feel them, your system is not functioning.
