Matt joins the program to discuss the Celtics drafting Baylor Scheierman. Specifically, how he can steal rotation minutes through his shooting and playmaking abilities. His play style is similar to that of Sam Hauser, meaning he could potentially compete with him for a spot in the rotation.
With the recent addition of Mikal Bridges to New York, they debate whether the Celtics should be afraid of the Knicks.
Their conversation then shifts to the recent surgery of Kristaps Porzingis. The Celtics announced that Porzingis would be out for five-to-six months. Does Boston have enough depth at the center position to survive without him?

Supplementary to his shooting, the biggest thing I'm excited for in Scheierman is his feel for the game. We all saw what a touted shooter Nesmith was coming out of the draft or even RJ Hunter years back. Neither really had a good feel for the game which it seems Baylor does. Excited for that.
Still think they gave up on Neismith too quickly.

Baylor Sheiermann will get minutes within the rotation (10-15) minutes due to his basketball IQ and excellent shooting touch and being able to create his own shot. Defense and rebounding are all about desire and toughness, and Derrick, Jrue, Al, Jaylen and Jayson are fantastic mentors for him.

Hauser and Baylor are different players offensively. Hauser is a spot up shooter. Baylor has skillset to create his own shot and be a secondary playmaker. Likely we won't see too much of it till year 2 or 3 and for now he will be used as spot up shooter similar to Hauser or a movement shooter coming off a screen. Hopefully we can keep them both goin forward.
Both of these draft picks will be huge for Boston! They need to be able to come in off the bench and contribute right away! 🙏

The Knicks losing Hartenstein is a big and underrated loss, especially with Robinson and Randle being injury-proned!
Schierman is better than Hauser and Pritchard now!

First time listener. I found Adam's excessively long introductory monolog, incredibly boring. People don't tune in to a sports podcast to hear about your kids having a bad time at the duck boats.
