Thanks. Nope.. I just wanted to use it so the actual handling will be by the drone and changing the scenes i could have made it wrong or forget to balance it right. It was just for testing purposes.
You are doing great tutorials! Thanks for that! I just can not understand why you and some others have to stick to 24p? Cinematic or not, we users look at the TH-cam videos mostly on 60Hz bagged monitors. Everything flickers here which is not divisible by 60 ...
THe 24p get's you that feel of a film. The 30p and 60p are too fluent television look. You don't have to stick on 24p.. it's just a choice that i make. You can be fine with 30p if you are fine with the look that gives you. It's just a matter of personal decisions and looks. You don't have to stick on it.
The cinema feeling we would get if the monitors would run as in the cinema theater with 24 frames. but these are running at 60 fps. It is not linearly resolvable, 60/24 = 2.5 so the picture jumps ... that's the crux
Thank you for this video. I am brand new to drones and just received my Mavic Air. I've subscribed to your channel in order to learn how to make better videos of my hiking and backpacking. There is a lot to take in as a beginner, such as manual camera settings and ND filter usage to post editing. Do you have any recommended sources to study for a beginner like me to put this all together? Thanks!
Thank you for a lot of great information and footage to see how well the Polar Pro ND filters work!! Very much appreciated. Did you do a lot of post and what did you use? Also liked the music- can you recommend a site to get royalty free music? Thanks again!
You are welcome. On the actual test where is the description i did not make any post. In the intro i played a little with the white balance and curves. My raccomandation to get the awesome music is: geni.us/m9ltT (Artlist)
I know im late to the game gor buying these but i have a few wuest. Are the cin series a big difference compared to the other brands out there freewell and others. Pgytech even. And whats the most used filter on the ma1. ? Nd64?
Great work my friend, can you recommend me which is the best filters for taking photos in sunny time and near the sea? I will use 90% for photos and 10% for video. Thank you.
Hello, just a question I shoot mostly landscape, what kind of polar pro filters do you recommend, gradiant or the cinema series shutter collection ? Honestly not sure which one?
Great footage, as always. Quick question. Am i missing something? I thought the rule is that the shutter speed should be double of a frame rate. Some settings I see - 4k 24 fps and shutter speed is 1/240. But it looks great. And, PL filters need to be adjusted. I screwed some footage up by not adjusting PL's properly.
Hey Russel.... yes to get the most cinematic footage you have to doble the framerate. But this is why i tested them in manual mode to see how much they stop the light with the same scene and which comes close to the 180 degree role for the actual scene. The PL filters rotating ring is a gimmick! Because they only work correctly in the direction they are adjusted (rotated) for. So when your turn the drone to film or take shots in another direction you have to land first and re-adjust the filter correctly for the new shooting/filming direction. Impossibe to do...
Hm, interesting point on rotation of the polarized filter. I did notice though, when I set it up at the darkest, the footage come out great. But few times I did not do this and the footage came out way overexposed/too bright.
Hey.. There is no darkest or not dark point on these filters.. i checked ar recheked. These are only Polarized filters. NOT Variable ND filters! The rotation is a gimmick! You should have two glasses that rotates inside to get a darker image. I have 7 VARIABLE ND filters for my Mirrorless lenses. They have two glasses that rotate inside. This is only one glass.
MAURO'S FILMS I did speak to a friend of mine who is an optical engineer and he confirmed that the filter needs to be adjusted for optimal performance. We also contacted PolarPro and the have also confirmed that the filter needs to be aligned before flight.
Hey.. Did you asked where to allign it? So you are telling that you have to adjust the ND filter for every little course that you change on youtr flight? Impossible.. please... don't make me laugh. I tested a tonn of filters for Drones.. trust me.. Impossible to make this right....
Did you test how the range and signal reliability compare between the Air and Mavic Pro, especially in the dense city conditions? I'm seeing that the wifi connection to my Spark gets lost very easily when you fly on a street between buildings, so it's not even comparable to the OcuSync connection with the proper Mavic. Has it gotten any better in the Air? This is the main reason I'm hesitant about buying one.
Hey.. i never fly in dense city conditions and between building on the street. From my experience i got about 700m away without problems and connections in an open non city envoirnment. I don't like to fly so distant.. i want to keep an eye on my drone the whole time and an eye to the mad seagulls that attacks it all the time. 🤣
I just bought vivid set of filters for air :) Mauro, I see you have been in Bakar.... I drove 100times by this small town, but never stopped for a visit..... nice place from the drone point of view :D
Mauro, do you change your sharpness/contrast/saturation settings on the DJI Mavic Air when using ND filter? Or the settings are the same with or without ND filter?
Hi Mauro, I just installed the app. :) One thing that I would have wanted to see in the review is a comparison in the same frame with and without the filter.
I would loved to do the same but actually the weather conditions were changing so fast that it wouldn't have been fair. Somethimes you can't get everything. I spent 2 days to make this review with more than 200 Miles of drive to test them... my patience started to parish... so i decided to make the review with the material accumulated in the 2 days of filming with the PolarPro Nd filters.
A great review and amazing footage. I have used the Polar Pro ND filters on my Mavic Pro but I have not used the PL versions yet. After seeing your video, I am tempted to get a Mavic Air and will definitely try out the PL version of the filters. Thanks for sharing.
Great Review Mauro! It looks really better with the ND filters, but I'm a little bit unsteady, because I film and make photos in parallel...maybe with too low shutter speed the photos will be fuzzy....but the lens is a wide angle lens with 24mm...therefore 1/50 or a little bit higher must be sufficient...Cheers DrDuu
Hi Mauro, one question: I received the ND/PL today, but how did you turn the PL into the right angle? I think you cannot touch the gimbal/lens if the Mavic is active...
I'm really thinking about getting a mavic air for my own, but i'm not quite sure because i read about the bad transmission range & quality... what are your experiences with that? Greetz :-)
My experience is that i never lost connection. The other day i flew about 750 meters from me (i dont like to go so far from me - line of sight is a must for every drone) 😉
MAURO'S FILMS Grazie mille.
Facendo fotografia so quanto siano importanti i filtri. 😅
Mauro, *AMAZING FOOTAGE!!* You really put some time into this one. And that monster drone..holly cow! Just one thing that may have been overlooked regarding ND Filters. I'm sure you know this but just to clarify for others; The main purpose of an ND Filter is; It allows you to set the correct shutter speed, that gives you the appropriate amount of 'Motion Blur' in between each frame. Which in turn, allows you to create a cinematic look which your eyes are accustomed to seeing. Just want to clarify for some who might want a little more insight. Again, awesome footage!!!
Thanks mate. I mentioned partially in the beginning when shooting on 120fps slowmotion. Sometimes it's just hard to go on with a tonn of infoto put in a short and concise review. Yep the motion blur is the First reason to use ND filters! Cheers!
All good..you nailed the video. Awesome! Just adding some content for those who read the comments. I know it's hard to get all the information into these videos. The video's would be an hour long. Again, awesome job!
I returned my Mavic air, for me I could not deal with the small battery, wifi connection issues one minute you are connected next minute your not, and so small the wind takes it away, saving my money for the Mavic Pro II.
Hey Cess.. Sorry to hear that... I didn't have any problems with the wind. Actually the AIR is more stable with the wind that the PRO. I never lost the wifi connection even 700m away in some busy antenna populated area. The PRO 2 will be for sure great.. but the AIR is also..😉
Can you be more specific? Could you please tell us which ND filters are better quality? So we can all go and buy them.... I got the Freewell series ND fitlers for the AIR for testing and the Taco-RC series ND filters for the AIR. Nowere near the quality of the PolarPro.
Hi Mauro! Once again a great review. So jealous of your epic landscapes, here in Belgium it's all flat :) I also got the PolarPro ND filters - they make such a huge difference. I went to Mallorca last week to make my very first drone video ever, and I used a couple of the LUTs I bought from you: th-cam.com/video/IrUJUmVDb6g/w-d-xo.html
Excellent work brother. Great charisma and a very informative video. Thanks 🙏🏼
Thanks a lot
So beautiful. Such epic shots in the beginning.
Thanks Mate.. Multiple location scouting is a must for such shots. Drove over 200 miles in 2 days only for this review ;-)
Do you always set your white balance to auto? Well done
Thanks. Nope.. I just wanted to use it so the actual handling will be by the drone and changing the scenes i could have made it wrong or forget to balance it right. It was just for testing purposes.
Hi mauro which set suggest beetween vivid and shutter collection?
Hey.. i would go for the VIVID collection because they are polarized! Better for eliminating reflections, and a little contrastier image ;-)
You are doing great tutorials! Thanks for that!

Thanks for the follow.. i will suggest Lynda and Skillshare but here are some great tutorial online on youtube...

It’s great to see another youtuber loving the design also.
Yep.. really great..
Great work my friend, can you recommend me which is the best filters for taking photos in sunny time and near the sea? I will use 90% for photos and 10% for video. Thank you.
Thanks for the video! You helped me understand the point of these filters. Ordering now!
Glad to have helped ;-)
Do you usually record in 24fps? or do you shoot at 30fps and change to 24fps with post processing?
Hello, just a question I shoot mostly landscape, what kind of polar pro filters do you recommend, gradiant or the cinema series shutter collection ? Honestly not sure which one?

Hi mate. Glad to hear that. The small Bakar town is very pitorresque to film =)
@@MAUROSFILMS I will stop next time for sure :) I am from Slovenia, many times traveling to Krk or other islands near by :)
Amazing shots bro. Taking a lot of inspiration from you. Where are these locations? Incredible!
Thanks a lot. The locations are all in Croatia😉
Very thorough and some nice videos. Thanks!
Thanks mate =)
Your videos are amazing, keep up the great video content.
Thanks a lot Dominic 😉
Is the polar pro app not have Mavik air as a choice for drones?
It's a good app.. even better on IOS..
Mauro, do you change your sharpness/contrast/saturation settings on the DJI Mavic Air when using ND filter? Or the settings are the same with or without ND filter?
For now i leave them the same 👍😉
im strong man but have big problem with changing nd fikter for my drone.. how you remove default ring????? what direction?
Try to wear thin cleaning gloves. You will have additional grip to unscrew it counterclockwise ;-)
Great video break down of the polar pro filters.
Spent the last 5 days doing this review😅
Hi Mauro, I just installed the app. :) One thing that I would have wanted to see in the review is a comparison in the same frame with and without the filter.

I am not missing anythinh from the PRO... The AIr is just perfect.. (and it aquires GPS more quickly)

those filters are more of center of attraction their are better quality product available at better price.
