Lily didn't actually strike him, she tweeted this and clarified it. Toast had the idea, he messaged her, she was up for it but then he changed his mind. He just used the screenshot of the conversation to troll people. He either got a legit DMCA strike for Naruto or Death Note or a fake one from someone (Like Hasan's).

@@ara3368 I mean you say that but given like 90%+ of streams are videos game and such, it falls into the same content space. Streamers stream content from games which many of the audience may not even own.
The audience is still freeloading enjoyment of content they don't own either way.
This, however, is not generally enforced because it tends to be free marketing that attracts more buyers. But if the only difference is "Our series/movie isn't ENOUGH content so people don't come buy it later", it also kind of undermines the significance of the copyright claim.
Whole thing is a legal mess.
