What roots? The song got some distortion alright, but more pop than a rock song .. weak

@@migalo100 I actually see this album as a mish-mash of Break the Spell (more rock-oriented) and Baptized (more pop-oriented). But relative to Cage to Rattle, Dearly Beloved has more rock-leaning tracks like Asylum, The Victim, among others.

I don't know exactly why, but I loved this song immediately when I first listened to it! Apart from its incredibly beautiful melody and Chris' emotionally affecting vocals, it sounds quite different from Daughtry's previous works and, at the same time, reminds me the Daughtry of the past! I write music reviews and interview musicians for a music magazine, and this is (for lack of something more eloquent at this moment) fucking amazing. This entire band is blowing my mind right now. Somewhere in Heaven Chris Cornell is giving Chris Daughtry a standing ovation, because they may have different types of voices, but Daughty is equally as good. I never thought I would hear vocals like this from someone ever again in my lifetime. My god....I'm crying. Well...fucking...done, Gentlemen. I don't know how I missed you until now, but you've definitely got a new fan. This album deserves a Grammy nomination

Yes!! His heavier vocals add another layer and dynamic of sound that fills out the instruments perfectly. Love when bands and artists aren't afraid to be open enough to experiment with their sound. Heavy is the crown is another great example of it. It's like giving Chris his ultimate chance to show off his voice at the fullest potential.

Chris, I love your new Album…..I congratulate you as all these new songs are just sooooo you and your stand out sound and the messages in each one is beautiful and true to the age we are in. Thank you for releasing these for your fans to hear. As for me I am one of your greatest fans ever since the first time I heard you on Idol. Your voice is just so distinctive that I guessed you from the first few notes when you were on the Masked Singer and that my friend is a big compliment as not everybody’s voice has that distinction‼️ I can not even say that your voice got better because to me it was always very strong and you can hear each and every word no matter if you go high or low, falsetto, head, or chest voice, you just were born with a gift that again I am so sincerely happy we get to enjoy‼️. Good luck with this album and all future endeavors‼️

Yes, it's true that "Daughtry", "Leave This Town" and "Break The Spell" are SO awesome that will forever be all-time classics (and maybe insuperable). "Dearly Beloved", however, is definitely a well-crafted collection of many amazing (and rockier) songs, so it doesn't lag behind in terms of quality.
P.S.: I don't know for you, but, personally, I enjoyed "Cage To Rattle", in contrast with "Baptized" (their weakest and worst record imo).
