Thank goodness he didn't win Idols, the contracts from some of these record labels don't seem to work for most artists.
For a guy who listens to Daughtry many times a week for the past several years, he was so easy to identify on masked singer. Can’t believe the judges didn’t recognize him, though sadly he hadn’t been mainstream for a decade.
He could own both competitions if they could have seen what they had to begin with.

This song brought me to tears. It could have easily had the hard rock edge of White Flag but you kept the piano throughout. Loved it! The whole album is genuinely your best top to bottom.

Stunning!! No other words. 57 year old dude here. A classic rock lover from the days of the best music era. Today's music is mostly fake & garbage, but since learning about Daughtry from the American Idol days, I've been a huge fan ever since. Who can forget Simon Cowell saying "no"? Not me. Chris Daughtry may not have won American Idol and the Masked Singer, but he is definitely destined for something bigger. He is an incredible singer. His passion for music is felt in every song. Such a gifted performer and songwriter.

Chris- this song hits deep. Absolutely breathtaking. I am in absolute bliss when I hear your music, your voice and this one by far just takes you deep within your soul.
I can honestly say that since Daughtry has begun releasing his albums, the songs he sings always seem to pertain to what I am going through or the songs speak a message that I need to hear at a given time. When "Backbone" first came out, my mom found out she had breast cancer with three aggressive tumors. She has now been cancer free for three years. I worked at a job with a boss who mentally abused me for two years and I was having terrible negative thoughts when "White Flag" came out. I quit that job and am now working for a company who truly takes mental wellness into account. I was unemployed for five months due to a major move and the current pandemic and feeling lower than low when "Heavy is the Crown" came out. A month after that song was released, I obtained the job I have dreamed of having for eight years as a book editor. All I can say is, thank you, Chris Daughtry, for your inspirational and motivational lyrics. You and your band have gotten me through many hard times and I hope that your music touches so many more lives the way it has touched mine. God bless you all.

In the year I got divorced. I fell apart, I hurt so bad emotionally I went numb. I was forced to so that I could make it. The hardest part came after, when I wanted to love again and Un numb myself. To once again avail myself to love again. This song captures those feeling of lack of it.
