I didn't think that was alot of power for all that work, 🤔🤔🤔10 years ago I had a golf mk4 pd130 and I had it mapped to 182 bhp and 328lbs of torque on standard clutch and bog standard engine no uprated injectors or turbo nor intercooler let alone a induction kit ragged it for years up santa pod and everywere and clutch never slip and engine pulled strong💪👍👍👍

To be fair, car throttle is still doing great content. So the winners out of this separation are us, we get two great channels!

@@skinheads nah, you're being biased. Alex is way more awkward alone on camera. He needs Taylor to be funny. I love Alex, and I'll watch every video. But the boys at car throttle know how to entertain and have chemistry. Alex fits in perfectly when he still appears in videos with them, but Alex struggles to hold a video on his own. Thems facts.

Been following Darkside for a while now. Their passion for diesels are second to none
They do some crazy stuff, they recently posted a render to their IG of a V12 TDI swapped vw Amarok which from what I can see they plan on building 😮💨

@@krisg.4257 Always be slow too. My slowest car is a 150hp Primera GT and i very easily beat one of these Fabias with 210hp. As a bonus my car sounded a lot better and didnt belch out black smoke.
Love this, the vRS is my guilty pleasure car, regret selling mine more than any other car I've owned. I've also followed the guys at Darkside for a long time and my A3 has a turbo from them in it after the original became a screamer.. Great value and service delivery wise too, def recommend them!

I was following a blue 07 the other day, the limited ones. It was ruined !! Lowered too much and covered in black soot
I met Ryan last year at the Yorkshire Motorsport Festival, he's a nice guy.. My passat will find it's way to Darkside this year for a tune hopefully.. great job Alex :)
Darkside do some seriously cool stuff, been watching their stuff for a while. It’s also nice to see this car coming along nicely.
love this build, great place Darkside and loads of bits on the shelf , next door is SRS too for salvaged spares its the place to go for VAG parts.
Alex, I recently bought a fabia vrs and within two weeks it absolutley shat its pants. I had to replace the engine, turbo and flywheel and clutch .All back together now and running beutifully and I have a great little fun commuter car .
next few months and it will be getting a similar spec build and I will be getting sut of the pop and shart map that it has on it.
When you genuinely love your job, you have a smile like Alex's!

Darkside are the absolute boys. Known of them for a while being local but started watching more after seeing a few vlogs from Danny DC2 👌🏻
Spent many hours flying up and down the bypass near Darkside 😅 I remember test driving a fabia pd130 with my best mate a week after I passed my driving test.. dealership didn’t take any ID or come on the test drive either! 😂
I had a Skoda Fabia 1.2htp Combi/Estate which I had plans bigger than my wallet.
I so wanted too put the PD130 Engine in it lower it etc but keep it as a sleeper.
Sadly due too family circumstances and life in general I had too let the old Combi go.
I'd still love to do my dream in a few years.
I love my Fabia post Darkside visit. On track though, say goodbye to 40+ mpg. But its not all bad, the lowest that I have seen is 19 mpg. Not bad when a lot of the petrol cars around me are struggling to get much over 10 mpg.... Brands Indy circuit sees 20-24 mpg. Even just going for a (law abiding) drive on the road it always makes me grin. I always feel like its a car doing things that realistically, it shouldn't really do.
This was my first ever car in that same colour too lol, bought it off my grandparents and it was such a good car. Could clutch down uphill and never stall.

I've got the Golf 2.0 PD and always thought newer is better. You can get 240hp just with a bigger turbo as well. but I just love this car
Love these fabias. Boras and golfs with the same engines are great, fabias are just extra

Alex, my Skoda 1.9 was written off by a uninsured driver three years ago, still hasn't been settled. Great to see what you've done to the Vrs. Would love it!
Nice spec. I had. Cupra R pd160 with egr delete and offshelf map to 195bhp so basically the same spec as yours. Pulled so well!

What mpg do you get?

I had a 2005 1.9 nonturbo fabia combi, loved it so much. And got it totaled. Still miss it everyday
Love the PD130's. Proper fan used to have an ibiza FrTDi 130. Mapped really nicely by p-torque who got 317ftlb torque, it used to suprise everyone off the light's. Pocket soot rockets

Oof, this would go well with my 300bhp V70 T5, I can feel torque without the fuel needle dropping faster than a ton of bricks
I know of these guys at Darkside. If I ever need my Skoda tuned, I'll take it up there.

Nice modifications 👍 I can't bring myself to do anything to mine. Completely standard on original clutch and original turbo 🫣

20 years on and these PD engines have still got it. My high mileage ASZ still outperforms newer cars in terms of power and economy even if it is a bit clattery on cold start
I remember a lad I knew called Patty he used to have a black Fabia and he had a massive darkside developments sticker in the back window. I used to live 20 minutes away from here. Everybody uses this place. Love Alex being in places I know it gets me excited 😂. Surprised he managed a day up North haha
I was raised in the UK but now live in Canada. My MilSpec 109 LandRover has a 2.25 litre oil burner with 60hp and 104 ft lbs maybe! More like a tractor really.
My GMC 2500HD pickup has a 6.6 litre Durmax with a six speed Allison transmission 4 wheel drive, slightly warmed over it produces about 490 hp and 900 ft lbs. I use it for towing my fifth wheel trailer when travelling.

Always fancied one of these! Terrific little car. Also, Dark Side are great guys - they sorted a clutch on a Audi S3 for me about ten years ago - were the cheapest and nicest people around - they have moved on a lot since then!

Looks a great all round car. Power and MPG. Plus you don’t see many of them on the road.
Look out for one of the rarest of modern Skoda's. Mk 1 Octavia 1.8 T 4x4. Detuned Audi S3 running gear in a taxi body and the base for the WRC car, the saloon has FIA papers. Just starting to build my 2004 combi. 3500 made world wide.

Mate of mine had a fab vrs tuned to around 300 brake, engine went in another mates lupo GTi so they decided to put the 300 brake lump in it. Absolute animal to drive! Biggest downside was it needed a thorough clean on the back end every time you went anywhere in it 😂

I've got a mint green Fabia that started life as a 1.4 petrol... It's now got a 1.8t with a few tweaks. 🙂

As someone who has tuned a few pd and cr engines why winols when edcsuite does a great job for vag edc15 ecus. I tend to only use winols for delphi edc16/17 and other less documented ecus as obviously the structure changes from drivers wish injected quantity(edc15) to drivers wish torque then converted to IQ(edc16/17) with more global limiters to prevent smoke(lambda/maf) based) and max iq. But to be fair edcsuite even did a edc17cp14 with no problem on an a3 black edition with no issues(yes I turned tprot off).

To be honest, anything would be better than my old 2007 Fiat Grande Punto 1.2 8v shitbox. I so would love to have a PD Fabia (parking where I live is crap, you REALLY need a small car to use any small space that is left by inconsiderate parking). Even the Torque alone (even in standard tune) would make my day driving wise. The thing is, my Fiat, ahem, 'Grande' Puntlow, it's slow as it is (but it was made worse by previous owner who decided to go with 205/40s on heavy multispoke 17s, 60mm drop rear springs 40 front (though I did revert the rears back to standard height to stok the rubbing and backing), here in Lincolnshire there are a coupla steep hills i have to use often, and man, sometimes even in 3rd she struggles to get up them, so, I'd LOVE this Fabia just for the torque alone! I've always loved the capability of the PDs, especially when you had your venerable 'Miles' the Octavia (BTW ABSOLUTELY LOVE them! Jettas/Boras and Passats too). So yeah, I've no doubt that Dark Side's tuning has made a big difference! I shoulda got a PD diesel instead of this 'Thing' I have now lol 🤔😏 😎🇬🇧
Having always been a big advocate of diesels with my 2L TDCI Mondeo and 2.5L AXD Transporter, I moved to the Darkside with my EP3. It ignited my love of petrol again but I think the Fabia would definitely sway me back again, 50MPG?!

I’ve got a fabia same spec dark side mapped and fitted new turbo fmic service ect this was 5 years ago and it is my pride and joy cannot recommended dark side and fabia vrs enough
FYI my fabia was owned by my dad from new now on 65k
