In 1938, there was an outbreak of cholera in Greece, including the Cycladic islands. Dictator Metaxas, the ruler of Greece at the time, passed a law for all houses in the Cyclades to be whitewashed in an effort to stop its spread.
The material used for whitewashing was limestone, which was considered a powerful disinfectant, given that the use of chlorine wasn’t common yet.
Since the white-washing was established, the islanders kept using limestone to paint their houses. The bright white colour helped reflect the sunlight and cool down the indoors temperatures. 😅

They do the shuttles like that from ship to shore in Grand Cayman also. Just FYI. You guys did great shopping in Greece. I'm glad you went back for the jacket and the new threads are the bomb! You should try to negotiate prices. Many stores in Greece aren't like in the US. They will sometimes work with you on price.

Hey JoJo! Love your channel ❤. Your day in Santorini looked fun, but next time you should really take an excursion. Why? Well for one they pick you up at the bottom of the cliff in a bus so you don’t have to walk up with all that donkey sh*t! Also, you’ll get to see more than just Fira (Thira). Fira is nice, but very crowded and touristy (all of Santorini is, but Fira more than anywhere else because so many people just come up the cliff and don’t go anywhere else). At the very least you MUST go to Oia at the North end of the island. That is where you get those ICONIC white building/blue roof images, with the most incredible view of the sea and caldera below. You haven’t really seen Santorini until you’ve been to Oia, and for an influencer it is a MUST-SEE spot. Other things to see are the VERY ancient ruins at Akrotiri, plus wineries, churches, restaurants, etc. If nothing else, book a bus-only excursion that will take you to Oia and back. We always take an excursion for the first part of the day, then spend the last few hours in Fira shopping, eating, etc. before going down the cable cars. Anyway, keep making amazing content as you live, learn, and discover the world. ❤
Santorini looks like Heaven on earth❤. Curious to know if the buildings have air conditioning or are the cool inside because they are built into a mountain and you have an ocean breeze? Great purchase both you and Jete got!

Jojo, a litle tip: the best of Santorini is to stay there and enjoy the island slowly, every day. Than, at night go for a walk and feel the atmosphere.

I’ve read that the donkeys are treated badly! They are injured from carrying up tourists. Many cruise lines are not offering the excursions anymore
